Legal hits. He doesn't leave his feet until after initial contact. If you can't see that then you must be slow. And seeing as he's not a very big guy he still takes some of the impact which will cause him to be moved as well. First off it never specify any certin time, it just says jumps. Secound off he does jump when contact is made, but to say it's not charging because he didn't jump before making contact is completely wrong.
Sorry, I just think you're wrong here. The key of that rule is the word "into". Jumping into, charging into, etc. Therefore going "into" the hit, his feet are on the ice. That's how I see it at least.
Into is defined as up to the point of contact. Meaning everything before and during contact. It includes contact because it is defined as up to the point of contact, not up to, but not including contact, which is what would have to be suitable to your "Leave the ice before". Also the rule book says Jumps, not leaves the ice. When a player jumps like Kronwall, his feet don't leave the ice until he makes contact, but carefully looked at you realize he starts his upward motion before he hits.
I know what you're saying about him starting upward momentum preciding the hit, but I don't think that means anything. What if he runs into some massive player and the impact doesn't make him leave his feet?

The only reason he leaves his feet is because he is small, and gets lifted up.
Watch like all of his hits, he hits the guy and then kind of ragdolls.

@021Sweden These weren't that big of a deal. One of em was clean, one wasn't... but check out the hit he put on Havlat where he got a 5 min major for interference. It's one of the bigger clean hits you'll see, and they have to make up rules on the spot just to get him out of the game.

.... Most of the time. Sometimes he pretty blatantly leaves his feet before hits... But those usually aren't the ones in question. The Game 1 hit they just showed he jumped, game 2 he didn't. Havlat hit he didn't, etc. But he does sometimes.

Kronwall is a little bitch if you ask me. I admitt alot of his hits are clean.. brutal, but clean... But this guy leaves his feet sooo many times when he hits it's ridiculous. The NHL needs to put on end to this, I've Seen many a time Kronwall give a forearm shiver to someones head... and nothing is done about it. Keep the elbow in, stay on your feet, and make sure the puck is there if you gonna make a hit like that.

okay first off. Obviously none of you have played any GOOD hockey in your life time. When you skate into a player instead of just giving them a little love tap, you explode into the hit. Now i know that Pee Wee AA is some good shit, but come on, that is one of the first things you learn when you learn to check is to explode into it, which obviously accounts for him leaving his feet.

First off, the Havlat hit was far from clean. Havlat NEVER had the puck. You cant anticipate that someone will have it. Someone not having the puck and getting there bell rung is NEVER a clean hit.

Legal hits. He doesn't leave his feet until after initial contact. If you can't see that then you must be slow. And seeing as he's not a very big guy he still takes some of the impact which will cause him to be moved as well. And seeing as his center of gravity was obviously being carried much higher than the guys he hit he will go up and they will go down.

Into is defined as up to the point of contact. Meaning everything before and during contact. It includes contact because it is defined as up to the point of contact, not up to, but not including contact, which is what would have to be suitable to your "Leave the ice before". Also the rule book says Jumps, not leaves the ice. When a player jumps like Kronwall, his feet don't leave the ice until he makes contact, but carefully looked at you realize he starts his upward motion before he hits.

it was a cheap shot. I wouldn't say it was at all good. Any player could do that it's not talent by any means it's dirty. Kronwall leaves his feet on pretty much every hit. NHL just lets him get away with it. He's not good by any means on hits. Other players just hit with better talent and respect Kronwall just throws him self out causing a danger to him and the player he's hitting plus he takes himself out of the play and for a defenseman this isn't good at all
