  • You guys need to chill out, this is beast.

  • None of those songs were in the same key and not all blink songs are either try playing dammit with thos chords

  • Hey, this is cool, but honestly, is it a huge deal? Yeah, you can make this limited selection of blink-182 singles all sound like the same song if you transpose them all into the same key and tweak the melodies when they don't quite match up. And I don't know about anyone else, but I'm a big blink-182 fan, and I never listen to The Rock Show then First Date then Dammit then Feeling This then Man Overboard, etc. all in a row... or even at all for some of those tunes.

  • your voice is made pop punk

  • Same 4 chords or not. Here they are with a new album after being apart 5 years and a handful of successful discography before that. Some people say the ramones' music sounded all the same. But that didn't stop them. Punk rock isn't about technicality. It's about passion and rhythm. Well that's how I feel about it. And no one can take that away from me.

  • what are the four chords?

  • Sneaky, sneaky people... The Adventure is an AVA song. x3 Great video, btw.

  • 1:15 buddah, get your shit straight it's buddha

  • you could do this with practically any band tbh, still good though

  • Thanks guys, you gave me interesting ideas for my next video ;)

  • Okay, a few things. Yes, this is cool, so I'm not hating, BUT, a lot of these songs were altered to be in the same key, so they're not all the same four chords.

The Rock Show and What's My Age Again? are not even close to the same chorus.

    The Rock Show: A - F# - D

    What's My Age Again? - F# - C# - D# - B

Plus, you strum them differently completely. So not even close to the same song.

Aliens Exist is from Enema of the State, you got it right the first time, but not the second.

  • @joeymckennavids stop trolling

  • @joeymckennavids They all have a I - V - vi - IV chord progression in 4/4. You can play the same song in a different key, its still the same song.

  • @TheRealCaol4000 Well, I admit I don't know that aspect of music theory yet, so you have bested me. The Rock Show vs. What's My Age Again? was the one that just really got me haha.

  • Sorry guys but.... fail:( romeo & rebecca and down were especially painful:(

  • you can play these four chords and sing any song and itll sound close enough, gawsh guys

  • He said they "CAN be played with the same 4 chords." So don't get your twats in knots.

  • I love blink, absolutely love them. And I admit theta they're songs do mainly have the same chords. But I have no problem with it, because I like it. :D

  • Please note - no opinions, just questions ;)

  • Do each their songs really sound that distinguishably different? Doesn't using the same 4 chords for almost every one of their songs show a terrible lack of harmonic creativity? Are their songs really 'clever'? Is Blink 182's music actually any good or have they just sussed the pop format and made it 'cool' to like them? Isn't Tom DeLonge's voice THE most grating American accent you've ever heard? Should you really 'tip your hat' to the boys of Blink? I know my answers to those questions...

  • I can play all these songs on guitar and those arent the chords for them. Lik not to hate but this is way off. Blink is the bestt!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The haters in the comments make this worth it. Lol@Them

  • I mean, this video is kinda unnecessary, lol. If you play guitar and listen to Blink 182, you'd know that already, haha.

  • I don't like this guy I mean he's singing the songs like a homosexual of some sort.

  • this is why every say that blink 182 sounds all they same ! ... not that they are clever ...

  • What are the 4 chords?

  • I heard this, ran into my room to grab my Takamine, slung the strap over my torso as I sprinted down the hallway, and tried to copy your masterpiece. By the way, I absolutely LOVE your vibrato. Fabulous job. Encore please.

  • So it also turns out that your a faggot and will never be as good song writers as Tom and Mark!!!!!

  • @martyevans1 Wow, don't be such a douche

  • it's not just blink 182 songs, it's a mjority of songs in general actually. some comedy team even talked about it.

  • @ThisIsPAZ So wot are the four chords then? :P

  • @bennynen the chords ThisIsPAZ, is playing, is: F# power-chord, C# power-chord, D# power-chord and B/h power-chord :)

  • Very cool! Glad someone pointed out the same thing I figured out when I first started listening to them.

  • Four chords is all you need for amazingness.

  • WRONG

  • Is it just me or does he sound like Davey Havok from AFI?

  • Hey what chords are they btw???

  • I do it's easy if you do it ur own way I love blink182 s simple 3 bestfriend band and simple music grate now after that it's a party

  • I really like the Adams song one, you guys should cover the whole song

  • amazing how blink just can make like a million songs that don't sound the same but with the same chords..

    yuo gotta love these guys..

    and nice job btw ;)

WHEN IS THE FUCKING ALBUM COMING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who really cares blink is awesome and they're way more famous than these fags I mean just look at Travis

  • Shitty singer. :P

  • So many angry fanboys commenting, great work guys!

  • FAIL @ 2:47 Aliens Exist is EOTS not Dude Ranch

  • This was really cool, even though some of them like "Down" don't really use that progression. Still interesting though.

  • you should do a full cover of Felling this cause it sounded really good

  • EPIC! I just subbed because of this video... total pwnage of the biggest posers in punk music...

  • @everybody all of these songs do use the same 4 chords. They are in different keys and tom delonge will change the octaves so that it has a new root note. It is still the same 4 chords just different octaves. I would know, I am a professional musician and my band covers 27 songs by blink 182.

  • first off no and second almost non of that sounds like blink other then your singing. same progression in alot of ther songs try really playing ben wah balls probally ther hardest song to play in my opinion. i play bass drums and guitar to ther stuff every day and these guys are master musicians and if you want to get tech you can prolly play all punk rock with those chords like that along with aliens exsist its called a guitar.

  • first off no and second almost non of that sounds like blink other then your singing. same progression in alot of ther songs try really playing ben wah balls probally ther hardest song to play in my opinion. i play bass drums and guitar to ther stuff every day and these guys are master musicians and if you want to get tech you can prolly play all punk rock with those chords . before you hate learn how to play the songs and btw josie does not sound any thing like that along with aliens exsist

  • random angels and airwaves in there.

  • @a12t you're random!

    Fucken hater!

  • blink 182 is a punk band. thats what punk bands DO. and if they were bs they wouldnt be famous

  • But you gotta admit, they're fucking great songs.

  • I don't wear a hat... :/

  • It's true that some of these songs don't originally follow this chord progression (though it happens that their melodies fit over this pattern), but Blink 182 still uses this chord structure more than any other popular rock band I know of. The majority of their hit songs follow this progression, which I find very tiring and unimpressive. I understand why many people love Blink, and that's totally fine - but I wish they'd release more singles that challenge this convention (like "I Miss You").

  • OK :)) AND WHERE ARE BLINK ? AND WHWRE ARE YOU ? :D

SO...Chord are not correctly and melody is not correctly ! ... and this bullshit experiment you can make with every song on the planet...

  • thats awesome! i never noticed until i heard it on your video..... which is odd considering i can play pretty much all their songs on guitar myself haha

  • funny, cant remember that chord progression in "stay together for the kids"

  • What are the chords????

  • @THEGREENLINK182 lol im back

  • @THEGREENLINK182 agreed gage

  • Omg ,That was freaki good xD

Overall i love Blink 182 xD

  • this is really cool but technically you could play any song in the world with those chords even in that key but thats not how blink play any of those songs but i get what your doing they do use the same chord progression for alot of their songs but you got to be honest and say they done a pretty good job at it

  • aliens exist isnt from dude ranch.

  • Dude, fuck you. This was all played wrong.

  • Josie wasnt played like that..

  • damn this is soo amazing. You should have more views on this

  • Download link for mp3? This shoulda been on the your cd , which was great btw haha

  • Perfect :) ! I know good music and this is it.

  • Hey, i really enjoyed this video :) how about some acoustic covers of blink ? :) i really like the little segments of each song i heard it would be nice to hear a whole song played out :) and on a sidenote... blink ftw

  • btw everyone he says every song CAN be played with four chords, not that they were written using these chords. Pretty much how the star spangled banner can be played in B flat or A flat. Quit bitching and enjoy the video, haha

  • aliens exist isnt from dude ranch

  • don't forget angel in the airwaves. same chords for most of the songs too,...

  • You guys are idiots, not all their songs are played that way. All of Blink's songs are 4/4 time which means you can play those 4 chords and basically sing any Blink song over them.

  • @ezhockey Do you know ANYTHING about music? ahahaha.

  • 4 chords...and yet he shows 3 with his hand at the end.

  • Comment removed

  • @dfbhcf Read the uploader comments, he states this.

  • this guy is good, but his voice really isn't suited for pop-punk

  • very cool, good job!! i like blink alot and i know the songs are very simple and easy, you may wonder why they are so famous?, for one thing these are good songs and have a certain vibe that turns people on (not sexually hehe), it´s not enough to play the songs in 4 chords and then go "oh yeah so its only 4 chords...shit now they must suck" (and also the key/chord progression thing). Just so people understand that this doesnt say that the songs are bad though they are simple.Well played though :)

  • also writing so many famous songs on only 4 chords..fuckyeah!

  • awesome! but can you put the chords please??

  • People need to quit singularly sayin these are wrong. ONLY feeling this is correct. and maybe ben wah balls (i dont know how to play it).

  • yeah honestly blink sucks i love them but all they have is drums and lyrics

  • I didn't hear stay together for the kids

  • very good huh...

by the way... what are the chords?

  • blink is better than you all you did was use those 4 cords and just mix the vocals u guys blow lol

  • That was really cool, I totally enjoyed that. As some of the people here have taken time to point out abut the chord progression and the key its in isn't tottally 100% but I'm pretty sure if you played that to a group of chicks you probelly wont be going home alone....just saying

  • hey do you have tabs for this???..it would be nice if you did for both guitars

p.s...you guys made the best cover of any other blink182 cover..great job!!!!

  • michael j cox looks kinda like michael j fox and pat kinda looks like michael j cox so by elimination, pat kinda looks like michael j fox...as well as matt damon, hugh grant and rumored...tom cruise

  • haha, as (awesome?) as this is...

but i still give blink for being more creative and talented than most other bands in their genre.

    two things though:

    - check out all the small things. not exactly right.

    - down too.

    but still awesome!

  • oh, btw, hate to break it to you. but you used the chord progression in songs that don't have them in the songs whatsoever, it just so happens the songs are in a major key. hence you being able to sing them over one of the most popular chord progressions in music.

  • @XxstuckinajarxX You're absolutely right. Also worth noting -- though not necessarily relevant -- my musical ability is mediocre at best and french toast is delicious.

  • @ThisIsPAZ French toast..........mmmmmmm

  • @ThisIsPAZ I effing love french toast.. I need some now!!!

  • believe it or not, you kinda sound like davey havok from afi.

  • This is prime evidence just to how unoriginal Blink 182 is. But i still love them!

  • Omg, u are a dumbfuck

  • @champ1114 ok....what's your point?

  • my point is, sure there all 4 chord progressions, but u still couldnt write one of these songs. Blink is def not unorigional

  • @champ1114 Well maybe not lyrically, but any 12 year old kid could play Mark's bass lines or Tom's guitar tabs (which have been proven to all be similiar)

  • yea i get your point, the songs are easy to play, but they couldnt write them. its actually harder to do than people think. and your not a df. ha

  • @champ1114 Well I understand that they're still a little hard to create. That's what makes Blink 182 so great. They popularized a new genre and wrote some fun and catchy lyrics. However, their songs in that genre aren't very distinctive (as this video shows)

  • The transition between Feelin' This and Man Overboard is awesome! Great job guys.

  • @fancybooklearnin Thanks. The transition between all 3 words in your username is also masterful. Well played son.

  • Paz and pat = brilliant. And to the guy saying mark and Tom are good musicians, when I saw blink at bfd 8 they had to turn toms

Guitar down because he made so many mistakes

  • what are the 4 chords ?

  • Impressive! But if you're saying that Tom and Mark aren't very good musicians, WRONG!!! Keep in mind that they both taught themselves how to play guitar with no one but themselves. But very well thought out how the songs could be played in four cords and very good video!

  • rock show was wrong

  • haha, that was so boss!!! nice job

  • i like your version more than the originals don't know why xD

  • WOW, this was very cool and very interesting

  • Yeah, but they're good songs.

  • josie was wrong hahahah

  • Not really all that impressive. You can play most modern punk music with those 4 chords. Older punk music used a different set of 4.

  • Technically they're not all the same "chords" just the same progression in different keys.

  • Nice job! this is a startling discovery

  • I noticed this, but couldn't prove it before. Thanks Paz.

  • buena imaginacion!!!

    BUENA CREATIVIDAD

    BUEN OIDO

    BUEN TRABAJO FRIENDS ! :)

    UN ABRAZO

    DE PERÚ

  • That's so brilliant!!! Cheers guys but wouldn't you like their bank accounts?

  • @mrpicky510 pretty sure by now they've spent all their money on water balloons and bad tattoos. Wait..... REUNION TOUR!

  • @ThisIsPAZ Bwhahaha, now they are just using the same 4 chords over again, if you see them live, id point it out to them!

  • hahaha good job guys. but you gotta be a fan of them right?

  • @fyiyouregay Definitely. 4 chords or not, those are all sick songs. For the record, Tom Petty's Free Fallin is 3 chords.
