You've got to feel sorry for kids nowdays. Our generation of bands had to live up to the standards set by the 50's and 60's bands . I think the 70's and 80's bands held their own if not did better. Nowdays bands cant make money off of albums and they have to live up to the "classic" era of metal. Keep hacking at it kids. Us old dogs will buy it if its good. And i BUY my music. I may listen here but i OWN this shit. I have this on DVD.
I 've been a Priest fan since the late 70's. Saw Turbo Lover, Painkiller, and in 2009ish the old Priest. Instrumentally they were as good or better then the 80's,
but Halfords voice was totally gone. I mean the dude was a legend with that
signature scream. It was a total sacrifice to the metal cause. Even though he
lost his your voice, the man gets my total respect. JP
@421hammerhead He may have lost his voice in 2009, but check out the epitaph tour...way way way better voice, not the late 70's one or Turbo one, but definitalety still one hell of a voice :)
Sabbath gave way to Priest in 1979, who in turn gave way to Maiden in 1983, who handed the baton to Metallica in '86, who then gladly gave way to "new metal" Slipknot in 1999. The metal circle of life keeps replinishing itself. Amen.
I knew I was gonna marry my wife when I heard this one day... hear this:
We were Driving to pick up her daughter one sunday morning, listening to this on 93.3 WMMR Phila.. EVERYTHING THAT ROCKS!!!, she started singing along, unprompted, not at all knowing how much I loved Priest... I knew at that point she was the ONE... God bless Judas Priest and all music...It can truly make a differance in your life!!!
Best metal band and theyll be my faovirte ill I die and after I die when I can ask God "Will you please playback their concerts for me and put me in the front row?" Since Ill be with God in Heaven and happiness is key in Heaven I know for a fact God would have no problem doing that for me!!!
I think what he intended to communicate is that Judas Priest were really the first band to play a style of metal from which any remnants of blues style or influence had been removed. And he's about right..
No there not Spinal Tap. There the greatest metal band of all time.

What a total gay anthem. Ewwww. Check out the lyrics.
Hit'em boys...
You're back seat drivin' and your hands ain't on the wheel...
Makin' a curve or takin' the strain ...
Back on your feet to take the next bend
Boys is leather. HA HA HA Oh so queer.
