I really do like John Bush, he has a fantastic voice and I have absoloute respect for him....but some bands become institutions, usually bands that have relased classic albums. Can you imagine Slayer without Tom Araya singing? Megadeth without Dave? Metallica without James? No. And while John has done a great job on the albums he has done, to me Anthrax will always be this line up.

well for me not too hard i normally play in eb tuning though it does sound heavier downtuned and good example it is easier to bend in a downtuned state as in walk is tuned to d

string bending is easy once you get your hands hardened up to playing,guitar strings are naturally loose enough that you can easily bend on a standard tuning(eadgbe). the usual reason people downtune is for heavier powerchords or they use a drop d tuning (dadgbe) so that they can do a powerchord with a one finger powerchord instead of the standard three fingers.
