nice to some one like me... i would have done the same to that drive, i would have opened it and see each and evey parts of the device and their function before i replace it with a new drive....this is one hell of engineering and super complicated.
i feel less complication would have extended the super drives life...
its a matshita.

how can you get shocked by only 12 volts
miviezgeneration 1 year ago
drive lasers can only hurt you if the drive is ON!, not unplugged and OFF

Now use the laser for a laser engraver :)

Taking stuff apart is fun :) I did that to a VCR in my Cisco class once. And a few hardrives. And then topped it off with some motherboards. XD
As for all those parts, I guess that would explain why the drive is the loudest part of the MacBook XD

Interesting. I agree with escalatorgeek881 :)

did I see a flashing folder with a question mark in the end? did it not boot? or was it because it is taken apart?
patricknedz 2 years ago
I believe the flashing folder is what happens when the system can't find a boot drive with system files. He might've taken the HDD out.

I just love to take things apart when they break. The only problem though is that it voids the warranty.
escalatorgeek881 2 years ago
You voided the warranty on your macbook!

Only if apple finds out

Fascinating. You could probably do stuff like this for a living, if you wanted to.
