  • Watching this film makes me glad I stopped hanging round with idiots and bullies who find their pleasures can only be met with drugs. I'm glad I'm a independent person now and not looked upon as a thug. I think their is a Richard in all of us who would seek for justice.

  • The film is a true masterpiece the soundtrack is brilliant.

  • Love this song. What a film. So many good songs in it. Shane Meadows is my favourite director by a long way

  • It just was perfect in Dead Mans Shoes! Great film with great songs, what more could you want?

  • great film great song!!!!!!! for i am just a vessel in vain

  • woooooooooahaooooooo baby! Dont this make you feel like magic?

  • brilliant plot, brilliant acting, brilliant twist, brilliant movie.

  • Someone please tab this?

  • @Plat087 Capo on 2, then it's basically an A chord, then an E chord, then back to A. Then on "No boat out...." play a D and back to A, repeat, then E, then back to A and D. Or something. Anyway, just use those chords and you'll get it.

  • @Plat087 capo 2nd, first bit is A and E, hammers aren't hard to figure out. then it shifts to A and D, same again with the hammers. think theres a tab on ultimate guitar knocking about now actually x

  • @yayrappelz.agreeing with ya on the film, amazing and the music he uses in all his films has also put me on to some good artists aswell.

  • Thanks for clearing that up all. I am English by the way, just wondered if the film travelled well.

  • @MrBlades1981 the film traveled very well

i have to admit the brits make the best movies

this one was low budget but blew the expendbles clear out of the water

  • A little work, a little sleep, a little love and it's all over.

    (oediv ruo kcehc)

  • I'm curious....is it generally the English who like this film?

  • @MrBlades1981 but ow can u not lyk it its such a powerful movie tht deserved so much mre credit thn it got

  • @brnokes100 I never said I didn't like it...just wondered if other nationalities did :0)

  • @MrBlades1981 well im scots/Irish & i love this movie!!!!! its my favourite ever!

  • @MrBlades1981 I like the movie too and i'm brazilian. The thing about this movie is that it's a relatively unknown movie worldwise, so most people that have seen it, are from UK.

But I believe everybody who watches it, loves it.

  • @MrBlades1981 not just the Brits, humans like a good story . Does not matter where on this rock you hail from, just enjoy a good story.

  • @chaosofscotty I was merely enquiring as all previous posts/comments appeared to be from Brits. To be honest, I wish I'd never asked.

  • @MrBlades1981 do not be dismayed. I am from the states, good film good music.

  • Paddy Considine brilliant. True to life action hero. Well done shane, paddy, and everyone involved. Small town gangsters take note lol

  • I enjoyed the music and the creative mind behind the film. Very good.

  • Great song! but What does a vessel in vain mean?

  • @DeKaleGitarist The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

  • ah man i'd love to get into film making, anybody got any advice? been told these media studies aint really worth shit.

  • this film was good.....so powerful, and the music matched it so well!!

i have a minor problem : i cant find the choir music, i have looked everywhere!! any ideas or name of the choir soundtrack?

  • @UlfTheLord If it's the onw you are on about it's called "let my prayer arise" by Estoniain Philharmonic Chamber Choir directed by Paul Hillier there one on YouTube but I don't think it is buy the same choir but is close enough but also I have not really look to hard for it so it maybe on here. Hope this helps :o)

  • What does he mean with vessel in vain?

    thx.

  • @Hollandmyland it means hes a lost cause

  • Classic film classic sound track. what else can i say, pure brilliance

  • Great song...always gives me the shudders...also because the movie is so important to me. My only brother gave me the movie after our third brother passed away...It is so well displayed: the love and the gentle tenderness between the brothers but also to what lengths one can go when you find yourself bereft of reasons to live, i.e. persons you love unconditionally, living history; never have I seen tragedy so naked on film before. Powerful movie and superb acting, truthfull in non-indulgent way

  • @dajohnthomas69 well said :)

  • even though the film is about violent murderer in Richard and druggies and bullys, its somehow beautiful. i mean, the way Shane Meadows shows the relationship between Richard and Anthony is just amazing. what a film. and this song is just the same, brilliant.

  • what a perfect song for the movie. i couldn't imagine this movie without this song playing during the opening

  • This song makes the Super8 footage at the start of the film so much more poignant.Reminds me of my own childhood-where does the time go?

  • "God will forgive them. . . . . he'l forgive them and allow them into heaven. . . . . I can't live with that"

  • @jimmy100058

    Good quote!

  • My short film attched below was partly inspired by this song.

    Hope you enjoy.

  • he had massive eyes...he looked like an elephant!!! dnt touch the acid!!!!lol

  • @shirescrane I told you not to mention the elephant! LOL

  • anthony....dont mess about wi that fire mate!!! gunn have to back into town in abit m8,sort sum biznis out....i dnt want to go richard......u dnt have too

  • one of the greatest british films ive seen and it has more effect with a shoestring budget than a multi million budget hollywood movie, excellent soundtrack

  • @joelgallagher12 very well said!!

  • @joelgallagher12 could not agree with you more

  • @joelgallagher12 too right mate

  • @joelgallagher12 yea you said it bro, you said it indeed!

  • great movie and excellent music.

  • Such a pretty song....

  • Eerie.

  • dead mans shoes is more than a movie

  • @20mal08 its really not... 7/10 quite a good revenge story with a predictable ending

  • @Maccatn2 - I agree. Very watchable, but "the best" british film ever? Nah

  • Dead Man's Shoes, aside from being a superb film, turned me onto some really good music that I would likely never have listened to otherwise. Such an excellent film, and song.

  • I agree, it's definatley got the best soundtrack out of all Shane Meadow films.

  • @yayrappelz I agree... Do u knw of any other similar songs???

  • @yayrappelz me too.

  • @yayrappelz Agreed. Love the movie, the soundtrack was great; just all around awesome. So glad I randomly picked it on Netflix one boring night.

  • @yayrappelz It did the same with me! Such a wicked soundtrack!

  • @yayrappelz seriously man....this movie not only changed the way i looked at movies, but also helped introduce me to a new way of listening to music....really listening and letting it effect you on a deeper level...haha yep

  • Totally agree wid ur comments, thought film was genius and constantly watch it on dvd

Soundtrack is brilliant and will definately be looking to purchese it.

  • no decent man wouldnt do the same for his brother. when all else fails its your brothers standing by your side.

  • the 1st time i saw this film, i was finishing of a 9 year sentence, it is a great film and i got lokd away 4 the same purpose rest in peace my little bro, i miss you charlie, il be with you soon mate

  • @mackster110 lul

  • officially a Smog/Bill Calahan fan now

  • Great tune, great soundtrack and some great comments on this wonderful film. Have to admit that ive watched it many times, and occasionally get absorbed in it to the point were i can not watch the ending as i just dont want Richard to die, such is the anger i feel towards the bullies that tormented his brother. A brilliantly simple retribution film that is believable with some superb acting performances and clever scripting. Well done Meadows and Considine.

  • @ShoarmaLocusts you know he was killing out of guilt rather than for revenge?

  • Its a great soundtrack for a class film

  • This hits you hard. if youve seen this film, this song is perfect for the story.

  • Ed. I agree with all your comments. What a class film. I am watching it right now for the umpteenth time.

  • Great song, great film. (Herbie) ''can i help you?The fuck ya lookin at!'' (Ritchie) ''YOU YA CUNT''

  • (Rich) ''Wwas that for me? (knife)'' (Rich)'' Well it doesnt matter now does it'' (Herbie) '' Does it not?'' ( Rich) '' No I promised didnt I'' ( Herbie) You did didnt ya''

  • this has recently become one of my favourite films and it's hard to say why, argueably the best scence ive seen in a film is the one where sonny sees richard in the street and tries to scare him, that is some english acting right there.

  • definitly,,"your fuckin there mate, if i were you id get in that car and fuck off" top scene from 1 of the best brit films ever

  • Brilliant movie! Is it based on any true event?

  • its the film makers life expericences embellished

  • nah, its a REALLY good film though. i think it would be in the news if this happened. lol. :)

  • one of my favourite films of all time...hands down!

  • This is such a powerful, emotional song. I love listening to it. I never get bored of hearing it.

  • fantastic soundtrack. good film though a bit of a dissappointment having seen 'this is england' first. go on meadows my son.

  • Thanks for the share Will!

  • this smacks this is england. and if u haven't seen it yet, somers town is amazing

  • wonderful movie and soundtrack ! Thanks for uploading this one

  • Considine and Kebbel are major talents,as indeed is Meadows, saw Kebbel in an episode of "The Street" a few weeks back, his performance in that was mesmerising, good to see so much English talent.

  • Awesome movie..fantastic soundtrack...nuff said!

  • are you the devil?

i fuckin wish i was - dont fuckin touch me

  • huh LOL

  • Fantastic film, superb writing/directing and, especially, acting. Paddy Considine simply blows you away, every mannerism, every expression was right on the money. All the rest of the cast were brilliant as well, each character is so real and so believable. One of those films that truly fucks you up for some time afterwards.

  • totally, everytime i watch this i go silent the whole way through and you're right, it's so believable, you've hit the nail on the head there man

  • God will forgive them, he will forgive them and allow them into heaven, I can't live with that.

This film is amazing to me, each song has meaning, and the way it's shot, the way the story is told, man...

    I am passionate about it!

    Its fuckin startling

  • this is a truely great film. i put it on not expecting much and it just blew me away. I dont think i have ever thought about a movie for so long after it was finished.

  • i love this film. always chokes me up

  • fucking class film......even hearing this song brings a tear to my eye...

  • What the fuck are you looking at? "You, ya cunt! "

    Brilliant film.. absolutely sterling

  • Dance at my party!

  • ''No i don't want to go to the devils' house!!'' this film nearly had me in tears, really makes you think

  • great song,great film,excellent

  • they all wanted to hold your hand didnt they?

    yeah

they held your hand... i didnt.

    no you didnt

    i dont have to.

  • "God will forgive them. He will forgive them and allow them into heaven. I cant live with that." What a fucking movie

  • isn't it just :) me and my girlfriend are gonna watch it she might like it but she probably will cry too.

  • One of the best lines in a truly remarkable film. Not many films can take you through the whole gamut of human emotions. Shane Meadows is a genius.

  • my ideals have got me on the run too b

  • this is background music to a party in the country on a beautiful day :P

  • this film almost made me cry but its realy good british film to b proud of ...LONG LIVE england!

  • "You were supposed to be the fucking monster.... now I'm the fucking beast...."

  • This is the shit to get high to

  • Everytime I hear this I wish it had a sample of "God will forgive them" at the end.

  • brilliant song and soundtrack. make no bones about it they will talk about this movie in many years to come . this is british film making at its best!!! The cinematography is beautifully shot giving a typically english and realistic setting. the characters are almost believable and brilliantly played and the film is altogether dark, brutal (with no gore-takes some doing!!!)and subtle humour. hats off to meadows again!!! . if you liked this catch "this is england" but 24/7 is more of the same.

  • your making me nervouse np2nowhere lol only joking
