Plus, how the fuck would he get up to 6k RPM in first with the clutch engaged without accelerating at all? @sirlonghair First of all it would be more expensive to install an LS3 into a Supra than it would be to just upgrade the 2JZ already in the car. secondly an LS3 is $6K retail to buy the longblock, plus about another grand to buy a trans compared to buying a 2JZ and trans for $2K. Third the stock V160 getrag trans is good for over 1000wtq in stock form while the TR6060 or T56 would blow up with that much torque. The 2JZ is more reliable on the stock bottom end than the LS3 PERIOD.

A factory LS7 block would be lucky to take 1000whp on the factory block due to thin cylinder walls. Also the guys making 1800whp are using LS7 based IRON blocks which weigh 100-200lbs more than the stock LS7 weighs so the weight argument is out the window as well.
