highly talented & learnd ram lal was the best shehnai player. his talents impressed v shantaram 2 compose music for 2 of his films sehra & geet gaya pathron ne. his songs r heavenly sweet & melodious. i hv heard that shanker jkishen were hell bent upon ruining the career of ram lal & we remained deprived & limited 2 these movies. all the songs of sehra were melodious super duper hit with rafi sahib & lata g with their heavenly sweet honey voices. xclent upload. thanx.

Ramlal played Shehnai for MD Vasent Desai in film Goonj Utthi Shehnai. V. Shantram brought Vasent Desai to Bombay. Vasent composed quite a bit music both for VS and other producers. Somehow, VS and Vasent had a quarrel and after that, they never spoke. I think this is why VS pushed Ramlal to become Music Director. VS' other favorite MD was C. Ramchandra.

Just to echo other comments -- one of the best Rafi/Lata duets -- such beauty. Have not heard much about the music director Ramlal but obviously he can compose. Shantaram at his best in the direction and "picturization." Thanks for the upload.

very nice duet. this was probably one of the great work of music director Ramlal. Though the music director is not very much famous but these compositions of film "Sehra" made him immortal. the voices of Lataji & rafi saab made the song evergreen. thanks a lot for posting such a beautiful composition.

Lucky to listen Rafi saab songs, I am from new generation but would like to tell you the truth that he is the greatest singer and will remain forever. He is the one...others- they tried singing and were successfull and then faded away but his gifted voice was just amazing and eternal.
