A great place to camp is next to the North entrance of the state park.
Ichetucknee Springs Campground 386-497-2285. You can also rent tubes, rafts, canoe's and kayaks. Kayaking and Canoeing is great in the winter. The campground has 2 large game rooms with pool tables, air hockey and other games. There is a beautiful Fireplace in the game room. They also have a family Tavern. You can sit by the pond and have your morning coffee. Their web site has the same name as the camp ground .com
In the summer when the kids are out of school this place is super crowded. Lots of kids stir up the water, so it is not that clear. There will be 25-30 people standing around the deep crack taking turns trying to go deep. Funny sight under water.
I went there a free dove into the crack. I made it to the bottom then that damn current hit me and sent me into a very narrow crack near the bottom to which I was stuck. I only made it out because the current pushed me to the top of the narrow part of the crack which widened towards the top. If I was a fat person I would have drowed. I am extremely skinny...130 pounds.
this pool usualy closes to public swimming in the winter due to manatee that overwinter here. although it looks void of much life, carefull examination of the rock and walls will prove that there are a number of fish types present, also turtles and other aquatic life(to those who look for them)..otherwise its a fun clear natural flowing pool.
Nice ass

It's a bad habit to touch the rocks as it may lead to touching delicate coral.
