I think the guy who got confused with the whole American flag on the Canadian bills thing was confused by the fact that the bills have a red ensign ( Canada's flag before the maple leaf was introduced), and basically it was a red flag with a union jack on the far upper left hand side and since it's on a bill it's not in full colour and it's pretty small so i guess some people can get confused by that
