@MsTroyboy Nah man, I mean yes you can get some VERY bad ass tones out of a PRS, but Gibsons are more versatile and more flexible. I've seen everything, and I mean literally everything, played on a Gibson. Be it the mello grunge type rock like Fuel, or the Classic AC/DC, Clean classical scale sweeping, or even early thrash bands like testament. PRS's are amazing but don't give you a wide range like Gibsons do.
@Hotdog40404040404 Duh. If I haven't played one then why would I have an opinion on them? And I didn't find that they do very well with sustain. and it doesn't give me the crunch I desire (ie I'm in love with EVH's tone in you really got me, which I've nearly matched with a Gibson) no matter what amp/pedals I use.
Versatilitiy-wise, Gibson takes the cake. Don't troll me.
@Sketch95 dude, why are you trying to match EVH tone on a gibson in the first place...EVH used a chopshop fender/charvel with a humbucker, not a gibson...and saying PRS guitars don't sustain well is just...dumb. And any guitar with humbuckers can do good crunch. IMO, PRS pickups were designed better (and sound better) than PAF pickups.
2. I was experimenting with guitars and tone and found an EVH-like tone on a Gibson. I wasn't really trying all that hard.
3.I know what EVH played. I'm not stupid.
4. PRS don't really have sustain when it comes to the (for lack of a better word) power. The strongest point of any note/chord on a PRS is when you pluck the strings. On an ESP the strength fluctuates
@Hotdog40404040404@Hotdog40404040404 and Lastly, ITS MY FUCKING OPINION!!! You're obviously a PRS fangirl and that's fine with me. At no point did I bash PRS. as a matter of fact I do very much like them. I just think Gibsons are more FLEXIBLE!! Not better, just more flexible. And as for that comment about any guitar with humbuckers being capable of good crunch, that's just ignorant. Guitars all sound different and some handle distortion better than others. So once again, quit trolling me..
OMG... 0:29! Journey got more tail than Metallica, Motley Crue, Van Halen, G&R, and every single metal band put together. Love the bit on the Frontiers tour where Neal snagged some panties on his headstock... too funny.
PRS are shithot guitars come on maybe even better than Gibson?.

@Hotdog40404040404 and just because you can't get one artists tone on a guitar doesn't mean it's worse than any other guitar

@Hotdog40404040404 @Hotdog40404040404 1.dude. I'm an ESP fan, more so than gibson. so shut up and don't pretend you know everything.

What i like about neal Schon, is that he actually plays with feeling, and alot of it is phrasing. idk, he's just amazing.

Everything was awesome except the fact that hes using a prs. He should have used a les paul.

Why does that matter? PRS are fine instruments too....listen with your ears and not your eyes....cool solo

that song, from this moment, is one of his songs from his solo albums

You mean he records Shania Twain songs on his solo CDs? I highly doubt that.

Wow, fanboy needs to calm down. Calling me names because he is mad that I don't know that Schon likes to record Shania songs on his CDs.
GTR39 1 year ago
Why is he playing a Shania Twain melody?
From this moment.

He takes a lot of songs and transcribes them, quite amazingly, to guitar. Check out some of his solo stuff - i on u mainly, wonderful stuff.
