If ypu look closely you could see arcing, a little bright spot, I bet that was the windings arcing over on thier way to a cascading failure. Who knows how long they were arcing for befor they got the camera.

That was wild! Too bad the blinds were drawn & it wasn't shot with a better camera so we could see the initial arcing, I'm guessing that's what led to you to start filming it, or were those blinds drawn for a reason, hmmmm? lol i love how everytime someone sees a spark or flash from a power line, its a transformer exploding! this is the fuses blowing on a transformer bank, they work just like fuses in your car, just a much larger scale, when something shorts in or past the transformer the fuse blows, killing the power to it, if an actual transformer blows, i promise u will know it! it will blow the top of the pot ofF and a huge oil fireball will follow and will last for a while!

if u look closely u can see it arcing. thats whats being filmed. the explosion was a bonus. its a business that lost power. yes its in texas if u cant tell from the accents

something similar happened to me. the powerline transformers near my apartment just blew over the highway, and DAMN it was a nice explosion! thankfully, it only blacked out about 5/6 of the entire complex! i was in the one part with power.

How the hell do u live near high voltage poles my uncles trailer in upstate Ny there are these huge high voltage power lines that buzz . the trick is hold 2 flursent bulps the long tube ones up two the poles and they will light up its is cool.
