OMG!!!!! first song I heard by Mogwai, found them through Explosions in the SKy and I'm so impressed... they layer their guitars like Explosions in the Sky but have heavy Tool type bass lines, and also have some of Isis' sound.

With time bands lose some of that raw energy that is palpable in this video, it's only natural. I did not see any of that when they performed it about a month ago. Not bashing them, song is still top quality, but the performances are more subdued.

I'm sure the original video was recorded on VHS, which adds more vintage feeling to the footage.

to be fair to cleomagoolando mogwai are way over rated, they are a very good band and pioneered the sound that so many bands are ripping off nowadays, but i dont think there as good as people make out, and they have an elitist following of pretentious wankers which isnt good, also the kind of music cleomagoolando has in his videos is a cut above mogwai in my opinion. Mogwai are good but not that fucking good.
