There's no need to get mad about this. I think that there are moments of their show that are live, and because of necessity some are pre-recorded. Remember the Beatles stopped performing their OWN music live, because of the level of production for live performances wasn't up to par, yet. To clarify, they aren't lip-syncing to Beatles recordings, but their own recorded tracks... and not necessarily all the time. There's no easter bunny either! Have a nice day.

I'll clear this up right now: the video you are watching is live, no lip syncing. EVERY CONCERT IS LIVE!!

HOWEVER, SEANFIR is correct, in some parts the PBS special, they are lip syncing to their own recording. PBS came to them and asked them to re-shoot some of the concert for their TV special.

@taterii do you mean the screeching at about :50? if so, that's part of the song. the Beatles were pretty fed up with people trying to find out the meaning of their songs, so they literally just made this one up. it has no meaning, and they wanted to make this song as bizarre as humanly possible! so the screeching is part of the song!

Just watched the pbs show...they are certainly lip synching! Very obvious, the music sometimes doesn't line up with what's being played (I'm a guitar player with 21 years experience), entertaining though

maybe parts of the PBS special were lip synced to themselves (or more than likely, the tape that the station has was not synced right with audio/video)

As a musician, I was also impressed, seeing them on PBS, but I must say that after close scrutiny and years of running live sound myself, they are lip-synching! But they're pretty good at the lip-synch! nice string and horn section! Where are they hiding it?!?

I'm sorry this upsets you, but there is no keyboard made that does what you are seeing here. I am a professional musician and have seen they're whole show on PBS... It's convincingly done, but about 50% fake. Some instruments are played, but many are pre-tracked along with vocals. oh, and there is no easter bunny either! Have a nice day!

I agree with TheTruthFairy, you are wrong. The do not lip-sync. All the members are from the original show, Beatlemania. And not to upset you, there are people out there that sound like The Beatles. Plus, they have on off-stage keyboardist playing along, so two keyboard are playing (off-stage with John). You know every model of keyboard ever made. I must say, that's pretty astonishing.

Other folks agree with me, and it IS entertaining to say the least. I'm not even faulting them, as they may have mentioned it, or were up front about it before. Little things like mic proximity, missing the synch on the bass or guitar are DEAD giveaways, but not very obvious, to the untrained eye. peace!

@SEANFIR I am also a musician and I have seen RAIN live. They are all playing their respective instruments. All the other effects are being played by a fifth person in the shadows somewhat offstage (to "Ringo's" left). In fact, this is the man who is credited as the one who staged the entire show. Also, RAIN is directly descended from the original Beatlemania show which played on Broadway in New York in the late 1970s.

The Mahoney Brothers are another amazing Beatles tribute, as well as a slew of other artists...the one brother plays one of the Everly Brothers playing the guitar right handed, then comes out as paul and plays the bass lefty. Incredible.
