If someone can explain to me how a book so full of love can yet be so violent, war crazy, with genocidal acts the norm, I would love to hear the argument. There is a commandment that we shall not murder. After that law was given, God himself not only wiped out humans by the millions but commanded men to kill men, women, and children. If Jesus loves humanity so much, why do we even have a doctrine of hell? That makes no sense at all. How much do I love someone as I hold a gun to their head?

This is the mistake that many Catholics, Protestants, and other Orthodox Christians make. They believe that you are only saved if you are a member of THEIR church. Meanwhile, many of these same Protestants will sing "Your Grace is Enough" in worship on Sunday mornings without realizing that it was written by a Catholic worship leader, Matt Mauer.

This whole video is quite offensive to me. I have no religion. I do not call myself an Athiest or an Agnostic because both denote an alignment with schools of thought and/or communities of like-minded individuals. Not to mention the bad connotations that are carried by both titles and the misinterpretations that come along with them. I am more than capable of understanding right and wrong. I think it's also important to understand this problem from a position of empathy. A great many people have been very badly hurt by *religion*, & have not seen enough differentiation between the LIVED FAITH Christ brought, and the "enforcement constructs" of religion that followed soon afterwards. For those who are hurt, or those inundated by a worldly ethos, any move towards faith can seem meaningless. This saddens me - there is so much more to it than just "religion".

There are historical accounts from Roman officials on the character described in the Bible as Jesus Christ. How he was a threat, how he performed miracles, which they, themselves thought were mere parlor tricks/use of demonic powers on his part. This is evidence that validates what is in the Bible. Once again, do your research.

You know something, the historic world do admit that a man named Jesus existed. The question is not whether he existed, but is he who he said he was. I would recommend checking out the writings of Cornelius Tacitus, the greatest historian" of ancient Rome who spoke of Christ suffering during the reign of Tiberius. Flavius Josephus who lived about 37-97 AD, a court historian for Emperor Vespasian.
He is written of in the Jewish Talmud. There are many other writings that...
@Myhopeisinhim WHICH Christ? There is not a single shred of historical validity of the Jesus whom the Bible was based upon. Josephus Flavius mentions 2 times a Jesus, 1 of it being a complete christian forgery, and the other is a half-forgery mentioning an unidentifiable persona.

Tell me would you die for a known scam? His apostles died a martyrs death as did many of the early believers at the hand of Rome. No one can deny the Rome and their games. Of all the people named Jesus that show up in history at the time, how does anyone know if all the texts are referring to the same person? The bible is the word from God, from Jesus himself, given by the Holy Spirit to various authors. You read of all the first hand experiences in the bible, and you hear from other authors of a man who performed great miracles. There is no denying that one named Jesus lived then. It's up to you to decide whether he is who he said he was, or just another fraud.

This is good. Would only like to say that Christmas is done to observe King Nimrod & his symbolic tree of everlasting life (for him), & has zilch to do with Jesus of Nazareth, or even when he was really born. In Judea, & at the time of his birth, the shepherds were out in the fields, which would actually make his birth more fittingly around September or so. I think it's also important to understand this problem from a position of empathy. A great many people have been very badly hurt by *religion*, & have not seen enough differentiation between the LIVED FAITH Christ brought, and the "enforcement constructs" of religion that followed soon afterwards. There are historical accounts from Roman officials on the character described in the Bible as Jesus Christ. @Myhopeisinhim WHICH Christ? There is not a single shred of historical validity of the Jesus whom the Bible was based upon. Josephus Flavius mentions 2 times a Jesus, 1 of it being a complete christian forgery, and the other is a half-forgery mentioning an unidentifiable persona.
The Talmud's (there is no other kind then "jewish" Talmud) relevant parts are based on the biblical figure, not some historical person.

Tell me would you die for a known scam? His apostles died a martyrs death as did many of the early believers at the hand of Rome. No one can deny the Rome and their games. Feeding christians to lions, etc. Thallus mentioned the darkness and the earthquake at the time of the crucifixion as was mentioned in the bible.

Of all the people named Jesus that show up in history at the time, how does anyone know if all the texts are referring to the same person? Even still that's not the point, the point is that there are no records or documents of first hand experiences of the "miracles". Where is all that?

The bible is the word from God, from Jesus himself, given by the Holy Spirit to various authors. You read of all the first hand experiences in the bible, and you hear from other authors of a man who performed great miracles. There is no denying that one named Jesus lived then. It's up to you to decide whether he is who he said he was, or just another fraud.

The bible is filled with some of the most desturbing things not to mention slavery, racism, rape, and murder. God must be racist and a bigot if the bible IS in fact his word. Why would a god fill a book with false information only later to be proven wrong by science? There are WAY too many discrepancies in the bible to say it's the word of a god.

I found out how 2 make athiests angry in less than 5 seconds.... Bring up God. All you have 2 do is say the name God & they get unreasonably angry. Not just miffed, not just annoyed but downright red-faced, spit-when-you-talk, veins-bulging-out-of-the-forehead, finger-shaking, scowling, angry. If they don't believe in God & think the bible is 1 long fairytale y are they so threatened by God? Why do they seem to fear just the mention of His name so much they have to let their fear turn to anger?

I started looking into things. Organized religion is a farce and nothing more than a way to seperate people and their money. However, I now believe in God and that there's a war for our souls. The most honest statement I've heard is, The greatest trick the devil did was convince the world he doesn't exist.

He makes a lot of sense, because theres a lot of truth in the Bible.
But the bible is the reason why there are so many atheists in the world, they give up on god after seeing the flaws the bible contains.
Educated Atheists are actually winning debates against christians scholars, they dont have the answers. The bible is full of contridictions and does not have soultions to every problem in life.

The Bible is compiled by at least 40 different authors in 60+ books over thousands of years; all pointing to salvation through sacrifice of the Lamb of God. The Quran was recited by only one man with no prophecy and no witnesses, The book says to obey the man. The man says to obey the book. More than a little convenient and a bit suspicious I would say.
