I agree about the "longevity" aspect. Look at SAMIAM, Mustard Plug, the Queers and others who still play to 1000 or 100 people depending on where they are, but still push on for over 20 years and continue to make the best music available.
@mdgarmager there is still some good music today, but almost all of it is of a throwback style of one kind or another.......hardly anything really innovative going on now........and ive made ernest efforts at finding them
Saw these guys at the redmond firehouse in 95'. they kept playing fugazi and minor threat riffs in-between songs. Free all ages show ( although I was 24)
at the end of the video they are playing at the old western state psych. hospital in lakewood WA a few miles from tacoma Wa. I take my dogs there all the time.
Yeah, it's just not the same. Things have changed so much with this kind of music. This band was so good. Goddamn. Used to listen to this everyday when I was 19 in '94, and it is still fucking awesome.
I remember around 91/92 when I was around 10 or 11 one of my older sisters friends taped weak for me and from there on out punk rock and skateboarding was all I cared about. Still is to this day.... along long with my wife kids and job, crazy how times change. I still listen to Seaweed everyday
Deep man. I wish I was a punk in those days. I was 4 years old in 91. I barely knew what a guitar or skateboard was until the late 90's. I missed all the fun.
this video clip is one of the best i've ever seen in my life, it passes some youth, reminds me of my childhood, and is very funny, it keeps you watching 'cause you wanna know what are the boys up to...
this song brings back memories from high school. I"m not from the area, nor was I in hs during the 90's, but somehow the notion of stealing bikes during impromptu concerts was still alive and kickin' with us
This song kinda reminds me of growing up in Tacoma. stealing bikes, and messin around at the old western state ruins. and they also show the 66th street trestle.
Saw Seaweed damned near every time they came through Chicago in the late 90s. At one point I almost listened to nothing but Seaweed as well as Quicksand and never did get burned out on their songs.
I was an extra in the video and we really weren't play the games at all. It was shot at the Seattle Funplex if I remember the name correctly... it was so many years ago!
Im not usually into old school skater music, but this band KICKS ASS. I saw this video on beavis and butthead then searched it on youtube, and found this. It's still awesome. Everytime I watch it, it makes me want to steal a bike.
I remember the tour annoucement with Bad Religion, I was dismayed at the odd pairing. Most of the bands you mention in "About this Video" are faves of mine and much better than these guys, but bless them for putting forward the effort.
