  • GREAT SHOW

  • Beautiful and powerful rendition of Elsa's Procession! Wish I could have been there in person to hear that! It raised goosebumps just listening to this video. Gotta make an effort to get down there next year!

  • 0:14 notice that there are two US flags. The one on the left represents the Civil flag for times of peace. The in the middle is the battle flag. We ALWAYS fly the battle flag in the US. Coincidence?

  • I have had the opportunity to work with this drummer on a number of occasions. He is probably one of the most talented Pipeband drummers I have ever known, but he has a problem. We all know that. It is really unfortunate, hopefully it won't go to hard on him. But hey CF, maybe it's time you STOPPED lecturing your civillian volunteers about drinking and concentrated on the on strength personell!

  • No doubt that leadership comes from the top, but everyone has to do their part to be and act professional. It is that easy.

  • This individual has destroyed his career and tarnished the music branch of the CF for years. On one had I hope this person can get the help he needs and on the other hand I do not understand why the CF tolerated him for the last 15 years.

  • this was amazing. i saw it this year for the first time. i live in ohio and my high school band traveled to virginia for the azalea festival and contest. my dad was in the army so i have a connection. i almost cried at the end. (i never cry)

THERE WAS A DRUNK DRUMMER!?!? I DIDNT EVEN NOTICE. WAIT IS IT THE ONE THAT DROPPED HIS STICK??

  • The counter march that is.

  • Poeple can say whatever they want. There are no hard facts to say this man was intoxicated. Plus, to the person who said "if ti walks like a duck" etc. well, quite frankly you are wrong yourself. there are a quite a few Cf Band members that have made fools of themselves, but we will not get into that. the only one with the full story was the drummer that fell. And I stand by my previous msg. He was hit you can see it clear as day!! Everyone looks like a gaggle coming out of it.

  • Okay, guys... I think y'all are letting the debate over the guy who fell overshadow an amazing overall performance. I had a great time watching, as I do every year, and just want to thank all of the participants.

  • You are right 4464210, I guess the assumption of him being drunk comes from comments from people in his band that said he was drinking all day in Baxters.......but you are right, no medical officer here....however, if it walks like a duck and quack's like a duck.....well you know the rest!

  • The bandsman in question has destroyed his career. Ottawa is not amused, and every CF band in the country has been put on notice about this incident.

  • My question is this...was he really drunk?...Who took his blood alcohol level? Do you know the full story? I see a lot of people commenting on this and I see no medical officers comments...and as I remember only a medical officer or doctor can determine drunkeness...am I correct...please advise.

  • gratty00000, you clearly were not there.....look at the whole march up the floor.....who was bumping him then? Who was there to make him bounce off the Kings Guard and Marine musicians when he first came on the floor before he even marched??? NOBODY.....you have been miss informed....sorry, don't mean to be a poor sport, but it was not cool.....watch the video!!!!

  • I was on the floor for this part of the show. When my line turned around to march off and let the bagpipers march the drunk drummer was blocking our path. We had to march around him. He looked awful...

  • Well the show as a whole was great....it was a blast to be a part of. As for the drunk drummer, well lets just say that this is an example of poor leadership and responsibility. For anyone to allow a senior member of thier group to go out in that condition is a sign of very poor leadership from the top down. You would never ever seen a Marine disgrace the Corps in any manner like that Canadian Airman did.....Semper Fi!!

  • Great show folks! It is too bad about the intoxicated drummer. It is clear that poor choices and poor leadership were caught on tape.

  • p.s. MrDrewR - please don't tell me you put any faith in Fox's Late Night "News" Spoof?!?! I always thought my friends and neighbours to the south had much more sense than that, and I'd hate to find out I've been wrong all these years!! LOL :o)

  • Hey all! Yes the drummer who fell is fine....except for a truly nasty goose egg and a black eye. brittaylor, you're right...don't believe the rumours you hear unless you know. From what he has told me, he rolled his ankle and just couldn't regain his balance....between momentum and the drum, he didn't stand a chance!! As for disrespecting the tattoo? Nothing could be further from the truth...from the organisers to the host city, we have nothing but respect and admiration for all involved!

  • Pappie, interesting you say that. I am a family friend of a memeber of the local pipe band here in Virginia and they say the same thing. It is pretty sad when a visiting military band shows that much disrespect for our Tattoo. Maybe Fox TV was not that far off after all!!

  • He's okay, he was taken to the hospital shortly after. There's a lot of rumours going around, and I wouldn't believe any of them unless you hear what happened from the guy yourself.

  • Does anyone know if that drummer who fell is ok? It looked like it hurt bad. He didn't move! I was at baxters after the show and heard he was Canadian Army and drunk.....I guess drinking and drumming is right up there with drinking and driving!

  • Great show!

  • i was part of da show tuk alot of practices but im glad yall liked it

  • Wow, this is great to see the show up on here already! I was just down in Norfolk to see it again this weekend. Your video captures the spirt and power of this great Tattoo. The sound and picture quality is really good. Its great that you post this because there is no DVD or CD produced because US bands are not allowed to do stuff like that commercially. Another one of our inconsistent laws that we have. So you really are providing a means to see view this again. Thanks so much.

  • Glad you liked it. ^_^
