In one version, the word "Catholic" had in its place the word "universal" with a lower case "u" which means that he was not referring to any specific church but the Body of Christ in general. Repudiators are not the only ones. The Gnostics and the Arians were the bigger problem for the Apostles and their successors in the first centuries. They not only had their own Gospels but their own belief on the Trinity whether it is legitimate or not. This it is a great idea "to show the Flag". You have a longing to be "seen" by the world as a Catholic Nun and I think you are right. I am a Catholic priest(retired) and we today often wear casual lay clothes and avoid the Roman Collar. I find that, when I wear the Black at Walmart or at a coffee shop, people are welcoming and at times you meet a person who might otherwise never have a chance to speak to a priest. A priest or nun must be visible and not just in the Church or Rectory. Thanks!

Back then, having a Bible would be super super super expensive. They had to be hand copied by a monk so the layman would not have access to one even if they wanted one. @ProphetLuong The Bible only tells us to pray for each other, we pray for people on earth and we also ask for people in Heaven to pray for us. Now, some may argue that , the soul is sleeping,( usually Seventh day Adventists),. but the Bible shows us the souls in Heaven are aware, the example is ( Mark 9:3) When Jesus is seen speaking with Moses and Elijah, both, dead Saints.
Catholic also Petition Joseph to pray for us, Joseph is actually the Patron Saint of the Catholic Church,

@hockeyrulesus Yes, I agree about prayer FOR one another who are still alive, but we can only pray TO God YAHWEH who died on the cross for our sins & no one else in Heaven. Yes, I realize that souls in Heaven are "alive" but the Scriptures never tell us to pray to them, only to God YAHWEH. Please read 1 Timothy 2:5 (For there is one God and ONE MEDIATOR between God and mankind, the man Christ JESUS).
I don't see Mary, Joseph, Popes, saints or dead people anywhere; only God YAHWEH.

@ProphetLuong Confessing to someone you sinned against is good and acceptable to God, but what if they don't forgive you, or if the sin is against God? You could pray about it, or receive the Sacrament, we call, Penance. Why?
Confessing to a priest, the person learns a lesson in humility, which is avoided when one confesses only through private prayer. Second, the person receives sacramental graces, and absolution. Lastly, the person can also obtain sound advice on avoiding sin in the future.

Confessing to a priest is private prayer? What? Also, another man cannot erase your sin! Only God YAHWEH has the final say as to which sins are truly erased & which ones are not! We can simply pray to Him for this. And lastly, we can obtain sound Biblical advice on avoiding sins in the future by reading the Bible for ourselves! Again, no need for Fathers or priests for any of these simply tasks! You agree?

If you have any knowledge of the Scriptures, you would know that they are NOT to be interpreted according to our own personal opinions! The Bible supports it's own self! Ex: all the symbols used in Revelation point to the Vatican as the Great Whore based on previous passages of the "she" being a church. No personal intrepretation allowed!
We only regard the source of His word in the Scriptures & no where else.

In one version, the word "Catholic" had in its place the word "universal" with a lower case "u" which means that he was not referring to any specific church but the Body of Christ in general. In other words, he was referring to any one who obeyed the word of God YAHWEH found in the Scriptures, not the pagan Church of Rome.
I analyzed it more than a year ago.

The Catholic Church is not 1700 years old as you say it is. It is over 2000 years old and our lineage goes straight from the apostles through apostolic succession. In 33AD Jesus died for our sins and 3 days later he rose again and ascended into heaven to be seated at the right hand of God The Father. At Pentecost the Catholic Church was instituted and thus we began our mission to spread the Word of God by the Mouths of the Apostles. All the books of the NT were completed ~70-99A.D. But there is also something you should know. At the time, the One True Church had to deal with heretics. Mostly the Gnostics and Arians.

Repudiators are not the only ones. The Gnostics and the Arians were the bigger problem for the Apostles and their successors in the first centuries. They not only had their own Gospels but their own belief on the Trinity whether it is legitimate or not. Now, what would our belief be if it weren't for Athanasius and the Authority of the Catholic Church? Who was right to teach there was a Trinity or none? Who was right to say that Gnostic Gospels were legitimate or not?

Christianity did not start out by printing books and then handing them out saying "Obey This" would you agree? What I'm trying to explore with you is Church History & The Fathers.

If you forget the Gnostics and most of all, the Arians and do not question...why do we believe in a Triune God instead of the teachings of Arius who taught that The Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit were separate and not equal? I admire JW's for their diligence in their ministry and actually, their knowledge of the Bible. They can surely hold their ground to a high degree through scriptures because actually...you can read The Bible and not find the word "Trinity".

Does that mean the Trinity does not exist? Without explicit mentioning of the Trinity in the Bible who has/had the Authority to teach such a Dogma or more critically, who has the authority to refute that Jesus is not equal to God and is actually a separate being? Then you can also begin to question the authority of Bible and it's compilation.
I don't mean to talk down on you, but I'd like to know: If you have begun to understand the importance of Theology & authenticity?
