  • ...I love Youtube!!!

  • @BeverlyGirls

YOU KNOW!!! YouTube allows us to discover TIMELESS music that we, otherwise, would probably not get a chance to hear EVER...

  • @FlipStar26 Indeed! We are actually playing this kind of 80's influenced funk/r&b here in Finland (our demo is on our channel :)) and Youtube has been one of the best places to find some of this inspirational, rare and funky r&b from the eighties!

  • What happened to ya, Sven? We miss you, bud.

  • despite the uk stereotypes...you guys get an a+ musically. i love this song...and their album is amazing. but damn you guys for robert pattison...smh

  • As an American, I love UK R&B and most of it is under appreciated in my country! This should have been released in the U.S.

  • @soulchildsacomin US R&B knowledge sucks..there is a lot we do not know man..

  • @soulchildsacomin Sadly there were underappreciated in th UK as well.

  • saw these at woolwich odean back in the day great memories.

  • steve mcIntosh...top bloke...and his dad was a legend too.SARF london massive

  • this just oozes 80s love it thanks for posting.

  • hey anyone know if heather haywood did work with any other group? i have a cut called "another day" and im sure its her doing backup vocals and it sounds like its from maybe '89 or '90..

  • Another great cut form the 80's... I had the Cool Notes album but it's long since gone missing :(

Haywood?... the same Haywoode who sang Roses in 1986? (I thought she was a US singer though)

  • oh no not that haywoode...heather haywood is the one singing in this video..if my research is correct haha..but you're right haywoode is a US singer..

  • You're thinking of Sharon Haywoode, who was British, sang Roses and a host of other great UK mid-80s soul tunes.

  • The girls in that day were top drawer !!

  • What' what' toonage, ahh quality already rough tune. Some idiot stole my 12inch single of this.

  • Love it !!!! Quality UK jazz-soul-funk..... ash1234v, London.

  • i am gob smacked

    shocked

    stunned

jaw hit the floor every thing

i had no idea ,, thought the cool notes disapeared after the small reggea hit in the 70s

  • them an loose end were simular type of artists, quality tune

  • The video mix is way better than the other mixes, and the video itself is just classic.

  • Love it, a classic!!

  • My mates still got the 12" Your never too young...im gonna post it ....watch this space!!

  • at :08, the best dance ever! LOL!

  • LOVE IT! I had this on 12" vinyl, 80's dance music was the best!!!

  • saw them live at the odeon in woolwich(south london)brill

  • I had a buddy in high school who was from the UK had this song.He gave me a copy of this song and i fell in love with this song.I love 80's British Funk.

  • reason u possibly never saw this band on video soul is cos they were a british contempory band who against odds scored two pop hits the other one being 'in your car'

bit of trivia....one of the lead singers offspring is the ashley in S club 7 guess it runs in the family

  • remember this like yesterday, great time, great friends, roll on

  • Why don't I remember this group, or hearing them on the radio... I don't even remember this video ever coming on Video Soul.

    (class of 89)

  • the girl witht he pink is so beautiful i love her

  • DAMN!!!!!!!!!! my childhood has just passed me by.did anyone else use to tape music of the radio because of no funds? and dont say it was just me!!!

  • Do you remember hereward radio, i think thats how you spell it back in the 80s i used to tape all the old funk from it. I have still got the old orange basf tapes. So your not the only one.

  • I used to sit on Sunday evenings recording the Top 40 onto tape and scream at anyone making noise nearby that would interfere with the vibes! Oh, how times change!!

    blueyonder69 a.k.a. Old Bird!!

  • lol love ya baby.cool bird not old.

  • there is no arguing that the dance floors were packed when this came on.

    cracking tune

  • Roberta Gilliam, thank's for reminding me about that track. Remember when Peech Boy's(Don't make me wait)landed.I liked Yarborough & Peoples('I like' what you're doing to me)80/81. Starlena Young's stuff too. However UK had artist like Freeze, 'Southern Freeze'. Incognito's 'Summers gone'...Beggar & Co 'somebody help me out' Not to mention Lisa stansfield's 'Around the world'. Today its mainly talentless puppets for the UK market.

  • top cool notes tune was natural energy, was a b side of never too young i think, i may be wrong though, loose ends had a monster track called `johnny broadhead` oh yes......peace

  • I sure missed the Black/Soul/R&B/Dance music of the 80's

  • You know when you post a message and then wished you did'nt... well that was one of them. Too harsh I think, and my spelling,These, imitation and mediocrity... oh well,

  • lol, you are right- so called `R n B` now is so vulgar. where`s the soul gone? i dj`d in the 80`s (still got my sl 1200`s)and it was a good time.....i remember tunes like-roberta gilliam-all i want is my baby!!!! TUNE. You mentioned soul 2 soul- i think jazzy b just got a mbe or somethin!! Do you remember the first time you heard keep on movin???? bring back the 80`s!!!!!!!!!!!! peace

  • The music blew me apart in this period and the peiod b4, could'nt waite to get out the door and get into the club, even broght my dinner oould'nt waite, I lived in clubs. Musicians , used to come on stage and play flute and sax over the record, people shoulting on the mic, semi pro jazz dancing also, Ohhh I miss that.

  • Also see ' dancing in outer space' this track came about years b4 and part of the jazz funk secne, which turned into these great commercial soul pop acts, funk, with a dash of harrards glam thrown in, I loved them.

  • Which one is Lorraine??? and what's happened to UK soul, RnB??? Back then UK was up there with the US on the same level 'Loose Ends'Soul to Soul etc etc. Thses day's poor imatations and dull mediocracy is all we get. Come on UK record ppl pull ya finger out.

  • Another great track..... You're never to young.... got 12" at a car boot..... 80's heaven

  • Used to dance to this, in the 80s, and still dancing to it, something, has gone wrong, or very right! Cute act guys and gals

  • If only songs were like this still, I come to this site to dance to this track, b4 off to crimble dooo.

  • cool

  • coolness.....

  • cool

  • Hey guys! Click my name and you'll see I threw up "In Your Car"! God I wish I find this album for under $50.....

  • COOL!

  • Super !!

  • Glad I have this stuff on cd. Music today just doesn't

have that "soul" that the 70's and 80's did.

  • i thinks u right .. weres all the loose ends .. cool notes.. total contrast british soul bands these days ... bring them backkkkkk

  • Yes! how come in the 80s UK soul/R&B was better then they US but now.......nothing

  • I think, in the 90s, the Uk music scene which influences, the world, it seems, got into the boy, girl next door type artists, and became obbessed with promoting that. avarage to small talent, I think to control them and get all the money. Musician which Im one had rep of being difficult. so we all suffered with music so dull, I think im dead.

  • Nice song... Nice memories.

  • in your car... sorry

  • need "in you car"... any one got it??

  • do u want it on mp3..if so let me know, leave details ill sort one for you

  • Has their cd titled "Have a good forever" been mastered to disc? I can't find it anywhere in the U.S. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE I MAY ORDER IT? Thank you!

  • One of my favourite 80's dance hits!!

  • can anyone post in your car by the cool notes - another great track

  • hope so i was looking for in your car :)

  • Man old age is getting to me! I was 12 in 84'

  • I remember my outfit too! Long( you know down to your knees) floral shirt, sleeves rolled up, thick leather belt worn loose, with the shirt pulled up to give the loose look around the waist and black loose fit trousers. Tjose were the days man...

  • Seeing this brings back good memories! I remember back in 84' when I was 14 seeing The Cool Notes live in St George's Park, Wandsworth. They were there as part of the Wandsworth Weekend event they had every year. But this year was special as Captial Radio were there too and had put up a stage for the live acts. Princess was also there performing her hit 'Say I'm Your Number 1'.

  • Wicked wicked track. If you like this one, look out for D Train's 'Your the one for me'. Was playing the 12" last night on the decks and it was such a trip down memory lane.

  • Reminds me of when I saw them live at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, circa '84/85. The woman in the pink is Bradley from S Club 7's mother.

  • 'Buzzby's' in Redhill... this song sooo reminds me of that nightclub. Great tune!

  • Good Cutting on Guitar! It's So Cool!

  • Absolutely cracking track! B-)
