  • The reason this scene was so good in the film is because they used no special effects, but did it with real railroad equipment. They got some retired rolling stock and a locomotive from a local line, hung a dozen cameras in the trees along the track, and rolled—literally. They only got one take, and it ended up looking brilliant. Props to the crew. I bet it was a really hard scene to get right!

  • Okay, I am a prototype modeler and I learned one thing here. This man STILL knows that model trains are SUPPOSED to be fun.:) I expected more effects though. How about purchasing an inexpensive bus and cutting it apart first, then re-glue it lightly so it comes apart at impact?!! That would be cool Had a friend with an ho scale lil'jo from lifelike. He put a ladyfinger (firecracker for those who don't know) in the caboose, lit' the fuse and captured it on video. It was hilarious!
