It's not only Christians that help people in need, and not all Christians help other people. I think it's compassion that motivates some people to make a difference and it's not always because they believe that this is what God wants them to do. Think about it, there are loads of Christians in the world and only a fraction of those are helping the poor. If all Christians did something there would be no more poverty left but unfortinately not all of them do. I'm a Christian too BTW.

This problem of starvation around the world is heart wrenching but it is a problem that has been around for a long, long, time. A lot of the problem are governments that keep their people suppressed. Giving money of course is a temporary solution for immediate relief however it in itself will not cure the problem. Jesus said "For ye have the poor always with you;..." I am not sure what the solution is but it appears it is a problem that is not going to go away until Christ Returns.

It appears these people already heard the word of God, but they reject Christ Jesus by persecuting the true saints of God.

I notice where the famine is, are also hotbeds of christian persecution(millions died over the years for the name of Christ).

God made it clear, no one gets away with murdering his true saints.
