its cosmically hilarious that the church itself probably had more stairs then any other one in town xD they just kept falling and falling and falling--like the slinky in that ace ventura movie x)
I remember waching this when I was little, still funny. I love the sound that they make when they roll down, and how they break apart from being dead for 40 years. :)
Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn are perfect, especially Meryl Streep as the nagging wife and diva. the special effects still freaks me out a little, but luckily doesnt steal the whole show. Bruce Willis proved to me he could actually do a funny performance as a taleless man. and overall, this movie feels, with its morbid storyline and humor, its morale - and especially with this ending - like an 90 minutes special episode of "Tales from the Crypt"
I recorded this movie back in the early 90's & watched it over & over until the Video cassette became all noisy & scratched. I think it's time to get hold of the DVD.
It's great that the audience think they learn a lesson, but just get their comeuppanc in the end. And the cracking knuckles bit was great. But it was Goldie Hawn stealing the last scene with her disemboweled head asking the equally messed-up treep "Do you remember where we parked the car?" Genius on every level.
as a kid i watched this and tried the whole "heel on the edge of the stairs" thing... to see if i could just "dangle" like they do... and broke my arm:\
just goes to REALLY say, "KIDS DONT TRY THIS AT HOME"
I'll bet when the funeral service was over and the guests start leaving and they find their parts all over the steps....boy it's gonna be real cover blow for Lisle.
you'd think after 39 years they'd learn how to do their makeup
