How those lads on the picket line, fighting for the right to work, would have loved to get a few of those policemen underground for a few minutes....and a few scabs too
Many thanks for this. One of my favourite NMA tracks. I have lived in an (ex) mining village all my life and this song struck a real chord when it came out. Some of these images still get my hackles up even now. 25 years on ... where does the time go. Hopefully not to long now before the old witch dies and we can celebrate in style.
It was a catalyst for the systematic destruction of the working class. The strength and support of the strike shook the establishment to it's core and they took everything we had to teach us a lesson - Our nationalised industries, our education system, our health service, our housing, our livelihoods were all wrecked. She took everything we had. I will dance on her grave when she dies.
@alunhughes147 I will personally be dancing on Scargills and Red Robbos grave both equally guilty for the destruction of the British manufacturing Industry...
@Flint681 we shall plenty to dance to - this,Redskins,Costello - but what a party it will be ! Can't wait (& the supreme irony a woman who did her utmost to destroy the state will get a state funeral, you couldn't make it up !!)
Nice job on the video!

Brilliant.
The heroic struggle of the miners in 84/85 must never be forgotten. Neither should the state oppression used against them.
