pacu are the best gag gift to give a new aquarium owner. I gave one to my friend and it wouldn't stop growing and eating. In 3 weeks, it went from 1 inch to almost a foot.

i saw one of these last night and i was so envious. there were 2 of them and a clown knife and these fish were in a 500 gallon and they made that tank look like a goldfish bowl. they were the size of a pink salmon.

Very good Piranhamonster - this is a Pacu. Here's the interesting part - my brother got it when it was only an inch long and has fed it nothing but hotdogs and steak. It is HUGE (keeps outgrowing tanks). For those that don't know, pacu are fruit eaters.

everything i read on pacu's say "they are '''strictly''' vegetarians" haven't seen or had a pacu that ate fruit or any type of vegetation... they eat pellets, fish, meat, but no fruit... i think they need to rewright their books....

@Piranhamonster Damn right. Pacuz are nothin to me, but piranha decoyz that are bred to be fed just like minnowz. If that were me I'd keep feedin 'em steak. Then steak hiz fat-ass!. If not for myself than for some REAL piranhaz. I wouldn't bother choppin hiz fat-ass neither I'd just cut 'em and throw 'em in. Pretty good sized fish though they takin care of it, but they need a REAL one.
