@rebelmerc51 As stated above this is about the music, not the schematics accompanying this great song. Are you so young you have to be entertained constantly as today''s youth does. Sit back and grow a little, enjoy the music and let your mind entertain you, it can take you anywhere, anytime........
Dynamite tune. But the accompanying video, very amateur poorly put together and irratating/uninteresting to see the same photos flashed over and over. Why? I don't think the viewers want to look at the same six photos repeatedly. People, cars, beach, people cars, beach, OK we got it! May I suggest next time, every picture in video be interestingly DIFFERENT! This tune is worthy of a video of better quality. Check out some of the other professionally done vids.
Could it get any better than this ? the music of this time is so much better than today's nonsense . If I heard this song a million times it would still be special to me , as time goes on and I get older there will always be one person in my mind as i close my eyes and remember that day running on the beach on Boracay , my life that was our day.
Great pictures of 30's and 40's Ford street rods and others too. Great memories of the 60's when I was growing up and and in the Air Force and could only dream of having such a vehicle. Was in my 60's when I could finally afford a new 03 Supercharged Ford Mustang Cobra.
Reminds me of a warm breeze summer or spring night and the clock ticking thinking of a girl I used to love. The 1960s sure were a great time with music that can never be beat. Thanks for posting this song!
This song, for me, defines my memories of the early '60's.....I never get tired of this classic and the memories it brings back, and what memories...truly a golden era never to be repeated...
Another 64 youngster, this song taking me back in time to my first love "Melanie Spiker", so crazy for her in school I was on cloud 9. The song takes me back to easy times before my Viet Nam tour and loosing track of the girl with the beautiful long brown hair and constant smile, you never forget your first love, never ,and this song takes you there in an instant.
Rvictor64, I am one of those baby boomers. Always talking about '55 Buicks and '60 Lincolns. I also still have the same Magnavox HI FI set that I listened to Image Of A Girl over when I was little. You'll see it on my post if Oh Baby Don't by The Heartbeats.
I found the image once, cheated on her and had my heart ripped out when she broke up with me when she caught me. All I could do was listen to this song and lift weights and cry. Had a hundred girls since but none like Kathleen. If only I could go back in time and not have cheated on her. I still twist and turn at night sometimes over her, and still love this song
In May of 1960 this song hit the top of the music charts and became a national hit for the Safaris from Los Angeles. It is one of so many records of that era tha will live forever. Times were comparatively less complicate and innocent, music and TV was at its best and girls and guys slow danced to songs like this. You had to live it to appreciate it. Just ask 75 million "Baby Boomers."
Gee..! Centennial High..Compton, California..Dancing with a girl I was sweet on; but, didn't have the stones to tell her..Life's hell in the 11th grade, sometimes.. Loved it, though..
@zipper179 Hey Zip !!!! My man it was no easier then for us in the big apple !!! Sweaty Palms Dry Mouth sexual frustration and all the guys lying in the team locer room !!! all the best Doc
hey edo91639 - I also was in the AF in the 60's stationed at Orlando. I disc-jockeyed at the base dances and this was a great oldie to dance to....I usually made it a ladie's choice............great music of a bygone era................
@louisville60 My name docpete1968 in those 60s you were in the Air Force did you experience any actual combat while listening to thease soft soft THE CONVENTINAL WISDOM is that the MARINES are the tough SOB the truth AirForce lives great everwhere I am a 2/506th 101st Air Assault 1968-69 A Shau Valley Hamberger Hill May 10th to May 21st 69 Mostly the 187th Inf of m101st took the beating While you flyboys are listening to this music !!!!!!
@docpete1968 Hey, pal.. it's not about combat..it's about music.. SOME OF US WERE KIDS IN SCHOOL WHEN THIS CAME OUT..IT WAS THE VERY EARLY 60'S, AND VIETNAM WAS A LONG WAY OFF FOR SOME OF US..AN INNOCENT TIME IN HISTORY, OK..?
@okzoia No, we don't want to go back.. But, it was nice to know the fun we had.. We hadn't killed the President, yet.. Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, might as well have been in some far away galaxy.. It was our brief and shiny moment.. And, it was good..
@ElunedDdedwydd I think the same thing. Yet in only two-years the CIA and power drunk, war mongering politicians will kill JFK and then ramp up Viet Nam. Additionally, the Phillies will blow a six-and-a-half game lead wtih just 12 to play.
Didn't you forget something, like those 'cool chicks' in their jeans or shorts or pleated skirts--when, as they say, women were women, and men were men, in the very best sense. Where dreams and fantasies could come true. Image of a girl.
I was only 11..I was already ' Eyeing ' some of my sister's girfriends....Geeez!
