I guess the real message here is if a Whirlpool machine can spin (empty) on soda cans without falling off, ANY machine can do it :)

and they will still break down in 5 years
where as MY 1955 FRIGIDAIRE UNIMATIC designed in the 1930's, is quiter, spins faster, is smoother, and IS STULL RUNNING

They kind of intentionally make them that way. it's band for us, but it helps the economy... somehow =P

DITTO my friends frigidaire frontloader only lasted 3 years and with normal use and they took great care of it!!!!

Tuthill99: What's really sad is that not many people are lucky enough to own a 1955 Frigidaire Unimatic, or even a 1-18 for that matter. So, this is what everybody else gets stuck with. Now, be sure to save those old center dial Maytags!
