i couldn't be silent this year, unfortunately it fell on a day i had to give a presentation...but i still had the red ribbon that showed i supported it.
nobody called me a fag though...surprising in a lutheran college...
Again, you're living in a very yes/no world there mate. All gay people do is "bitch bitch bitch"?? I have to wonder about how many gay people you actually know. I think you might be just basing your opinions on far flung biases. In my experience, mate, one gay person is as different from the next as straight people or any other animal. Some of the bitchiest, whiniest people I know are straight so you're bullshitting yourself. Amazing that you COULD be happy with that point of view. Well Done!
You are such a sweetheart! You're love is almost too loud. We used to call cigarettes "fags". We would say "hey, you want a fag??". I think a day of silence for young and confused and oppressed people is just such a good way to protest the impingement of some people's views (ahem...) on the lives of others.
By the way, in your opinion, if a US soldier dies in, let's say, Iraq and he happens to be, as you so eloquently put it, a "fag", does he deserve tribute then? You seem to be living in a very yes/no world there fella. You will always run into problems with those harsh views of yours and do you know who will get the stress. You will. You're your own worst enemy.
im my own worst enemy? lol sorry bro i live a happy life... the only thing that pisses me off are these little self absorbed queers who think their shit don't stink because they're gay gay people are so full of themselves they dont contribute back to society gays went into the military and what did they do? they complained about their rights again! so the military had to come up with a bunch of bullshit rules so gay people would stop bitching thats all they seem to do... bitch bitch bitch
The day of silence is a hilarious waste. I believe you need to do the complete opposite to get such a point across ignorance. For people that are unknowing of the meaning of this day (usually the same ones doing the gay bashing) being silent is going to do nothing to enlighten them. How about showing some forte and NOT give into the gay/feminine stereotype, get up and fight back with truth.
fighting them doesn't seem to work everywhere, more people than ever asked me why i was silent, and i would write down my reasons. more people understood than if i just went around 'fighting'. you can tell the truth and be silent also.
Good one, Ben. I didn't know about this day, and spent much of it screaming for Goldfrapp, Tegan and Sara and The Swell Season. Not very silent of me. Thanks for being silent enough for both of us.
and the government doesn't want to take steps to aggressively crack down on this shit?
it will even turn a blind eye to Hate Crimes committed against us (that includes the transgendered) or those who just give off the "wrong" image?
well, why don't we just make our own boycott happen by not spending any of our money anywhere in the United States for a day or two — see if we wouldn't noticed _then_.
at any rate, thanks for your contribution to the cause, Mr. Ben.
we are quite some time away from being able to live our lives in peace — i honestly cannot say i remember a time when people actually *encouraged* others to commit acts of violence against ..... well..
..not even heterosexuals are safe from gay-bashing: he/she needs only *seem* feminine/masculine to draw a zealot's ire. no regards to actual sexual preference — perception can be enough to send someone to the grave.
Alrighty, Ben. If this is truly a day of silence, I expect to see a 24 hour video of you doing nothing but staring at the camera. And don't blink. I'll be watching. LOL
I did that today tooo! It's support group for the 15 kid who died because of his sexual orientation and gender expression? What was his name oh, Lawrence King!
