  • I have got same one.

  • rolled off treble, bloated MR, bloated mid bass...the super tweeter addition in the later vids is very nice.. you've done nothing wrong...fostex cab designs are whack...

  • Nothing wrong in using that ply - it looks superb. But the Fostex drive units have a very narror sweet spot beaming the high frequencies . . . and for that reason I prefer Lowther or Tannoy more . . .

  • yay no mdf..remember guys..wood sounds good :D..great horn btw..half chang?

  • Is that the boxes of Svetlana valve tubes I see? What tube amplifier you were using?

  • Whats the music man ;) and nicely done they sound awesome although I wish Fullranges could play fast music well . I hear full ranges have issues with distortion with fast paced rock/ metal although I find myself listening to reggae most of the time

  • Nicely done! - Wonderful execution, and even in a youtube video it's obvious the sound is warm, smooth, present and open for days!

I MUST HAVE THAT piece of music!

May I know who and what it is?!?!?

    Thanqx!

  • @LibraMantra : Thanks for your comments ! The music is ANTONIO FORCIONE "Gypsy dreams" from CD "ACOUSTIC REVENGE" Naim

  • i got criticized for using marine plywood for my speaker construction (im studying product design) 'use mdf' he said... any comments of the use of ply or mdf?

  • take a look in my web site and read the post named Horn loudspeakers cabinets...

  • @sarriscostas marine grade plywood is a far better option for horn/back loaded speakers due to its sound qualities (it just sounds better than MDF). Do a google search for "frugal horns"

  • @gobacktorussia : I don't know what makes marine plywood "marine" but conventional wisdom is that MDF is denser than plywood and is more inert or non-resonant. This allows you to build a nice, solid and inert cabinet that is lighter and less costly than an equivalent one of plywood.

  • wow it looks like a concert hall!

  • nice build - how much degradation in tone would you expect if the BLH had been made of 7-ply "birch" plywood?

  • Hi,

IMO I think its not a good idea to use 7ply plywood. Using 6mm plywood the sound reduction index is about 20 db, and I think you dont get a well damped cabinet.

Take a look at my web site and read the post named "Horn loudspeakers cabinets"

  • How much do these Fostex drivers cost?

  • In 2006 I bought these drivers and cost me about 240 € (euro)

  • Jesus crist....

  • In order to understand immediately what's wrong here; go to Amplicaficatore Valvolare Silver 4 here on you tube and listen.

  • So what speaker do you recommend?

I, too, don't care much for listening fatigue.

  • I always wondered what the audio reviewers were referring to by "listener fatigue"; now I know. Pretty horrible. Fostek is a perfect example of someone offering to do the impossible; eg. full range speaker; essentially you end up listening to the box resonances and some very unpleasant mid range, "brightness". The wonderful thing about the audio business is that there's always another customer out there who has no idea what's going on and is completely pleased with the results.

  • Patsick, what do you think of celestion speaker?

  • YAY! fostex ftw i got fostex too

  • nice

  • full range speakers shit all over any other design

  • ok thanks look forward to the new videos of this beautiful jewel in action. did you dampen the inside of the box any?.

  • It is a plan which I intend to accomplish very soon, but I hesitate starting with the schema of Fostex FE126E with a loudspeaker Davis Acousitcs by hoping that she works.

  • I am entirely what you, but I must study this type to make schema with another loudspeaker

  • ok . I never tested this enclosure with a different type of driver (loudspeaker).

  • You think that it portrays of assemblage is prevu only for fostex loudspeaker?

  • What the word -prevu- means ? - These enclosures is what fostex recommends for the FE206E driver

  • Thanks

  • what 's name of the song please?

  • ANTONIO FORCIONE "Gypsy dreams" from CD "ACOUSTIC REVENGE" Naim

  • post up another video of some different rock or other songs please. im gtn these speakers also.

  • Ok I will . Just give some time please ;-)

  • yes!. this is true quality sound.

listen at that whizzer cone warmth.

    a+. thanks.

  • thanks for your comments

  • Tout a l' air plus naturel quand la musique sort d ' un haut parleur large bande :d

  • thanks !
