  • leuk om weer te horen,ik heb hier ook nog een cd van

  • one of my fav videos/songs from en vogue......vocals are crazy tight!! dawn who?

  • i always wonder how the original would sound with Dawn's lead vocals left on this version.. and i always also wonder how the EV3 (or Friendship) era would've turned out had she stayed.. this song is one of their hottest songs but it's a shame how the departure of one group member turned the group's onward success upside down.

  • Aarrgghh the Haitian!! @ 1.33

  • inkrediBLE Vid they b BLowin, i miSS DESE DAyZ

  • Love these girls and had put this in the cd player and was belting it out when I decided to come and look to see if there was a video for it. Well I was surpirsed to see that there was but more than that, this video is FULL of illuminati symbolisms! It is so blatant! This video depicts how we are all "created' and how many of us are slaves and robots to beauty. Even the lyrics (which I had not noticed until I saw the video) speaks of being submissive and "going crazy" for the love of "it" .

  • @nanjagayle What are you talking about?! This video is about the price we put on beauty because of trying to impress that person we love. And obviously En Vogue was not Illuminati because they made shit money, and have faded from the spotlight. So don't be putting all of that out. The women of En Vogue are godly women. Terry's even said in a recent interview that the music industry is fabricated now and artists don't know how to work and pay their dues. So don't try to lump EV in that mess.

  • @Mikizzle15 First of all, where did I say the WOMEN were illuminati? I said there were blatant illuminati SYMBOLISMS. Read, comprehend, THEN respond. Secondly, so what if Terry said whatever she said. Makes no difference to me. I don't know her so I would definitely not take what someone says in an interview to heart. As far as getting into illuminati symbols with you, I prefer to have those types of conversations with individuals who are fully aware of the world around them.

  • @nanjagayle Honestly I did comprehend what you said. And people who are consumed with Illuminati and all of that are wasting their time. Why does that even matter? this is a dope video and like I said, I highly doubt En Vogue is associated with that. And lastly, the creator/director of this video was sued because the concept of this video was stolen from a photographer named Sean Ellis. So look him up. And why consume yourself with Illuminati? It'll make you paranoid. But I respect your opinion.

  • good song....weird video...

  • Love them, but did anyone saw the black and white checkered floor? IS THIS ALSO ILLUMINATI I HOPE NOT!

  • @Dyamanti22 I doubt it. Sometimes a checkered floor is just a floor. lol

  • @Dyamanti22 I sure did and was shocked! But it is not like they knew what was going on I am sure. Just as most artists. Most people would just see this as creative art and not for what it truly is.

  • I love this vid by my fave female group. Great concept and very different from all their other vids. I wonder who came up with this concept.

  • whoa never saw this vid b4, didnt think they were crazy like that haha. never b4 or after them will there ever b another envogue. harmonies are on point, noone can touch them, brownstone was close but not exact

  • Thanks for posting. However, I have to disagree with the comment about Dawn. She left and stayed away for business reasons according to what I read. She flet that she and the other 3 women were getting a raw deal.

  • viva en vogue!!!!!

  • Pam ! Pam ! Pam !! huuuwwww..... :D

  • Thes ladies are soooo talented each of them and this particular video shows true art!!

  • The video reminds me of the Medical Pavilion from Rapture

  • YESSSS for my jam!!

  • this is my song!

  • the 1st concept of the film saw !!!

  • wow, i remember this video, i remember it wasn't a huge hit, this video was truly ahead of its time, because its so modern, if it were released today, it would sure be a hit, the fashion, the music, everything, love them! i saw them live last yr, and they were oh so good!

  • Wonderfuly creepy, Jack the Ripper thang goin' on! I love this video.

  • I like this Song I Remember seeing a clip of this video when i was a lil boy lol wow get em En Vogue

  • Another great Video and song from En Vogue...What I love about these Diva's is Each one of them when they do lead and background you can hear the harmonies so good and crisp unlike Beyonce's yodeling and over vocalizing with Destiny's Child.

  • This video is way "disturbing" than Rhianna's "Disturbia" Video. I saw Rhianna's video at an AMC theatre and thought of this video so I had to find it. En Vogue and Matthew Rolston did a good job this vid. Sorry Rhianna your video is not Disturbing!

  • Wow this is way back when i was like 11, still love the song

  • This video is awesome it's one of the best of the 90s, they did not skip a beat after Dawn left, and I actually liked them better as a threesome, I luv Dawn, but they rocked it as a threesome, LOVE THEM.

  • one of the best 90s videos

  • 1997! ^_^ this was an intriguing, freaky video!

  • omg i love this song!i was in love with it at 10 and still am at 21. awesome!

  • i like this song, but i always wonder why their masks have moustaches...

  • back then she had sign wit dr. dre aftermath and did the firm @ lucy pearl so she was focus on that

  • where is dawn i dont see her

  • this was after she left.

  • Sooooo nineties...

  • why don't they make this music anymore?????

  • Yeah I remember Bill Bellamy announcing this on MTV Summer jams top ten countdown.

  • dude i remember this vid like it was on yestaday. i was stayin wit ma granny. sheeit was hott

  • 1997 = great year for music!

  • Thank you!

  • This was one of their best videos. Matthew Rolston's a genious!

  • you spelled genius wrong, lol.

  • they were fine w/o Dawn i think but after Maxine left iono that might hav been too much, but fans gotta stay loyal, thas what i think...this group is the shit oh n Dawn is back with them as of April 18th

  • What does that mean? People are posting that on every damn video. Do they have a record deal? Are they recording an album? New Kids on the Block already has a song out.

  • new kids on the block also has the dumbest song on the radio as well and i think envogue just did the bet awards and they been done had a record deal their joining a new management company

  • why did maxine leave the group and when?

  • To spend more time with her daughter. And I think it was in like 2001 after MT flopped.

  • but shes back with the group now.

  • Damn. Even with that crazy metal headgear on Terry looks hot!!. I love this video. It totally embodies the lyrics of the song. It gives me futuristic plastic surgery beauty shop meets intergalactic funeral parlor.

  • AMEN!!! She is my favorite!!!

  • It almost looks like Marilyn Manson directed this vid. Other than that, tha gals look hot.

  • Matthew Rolston directed this. He's great and so is en vogue. :)

  • I remember this one, I used to listen to this song all of the time. My mom thought the video was crazy but I still loved it. I still do! En Vogue is one of the best groups of all time even without Dawn. I hope that they get back together!

  • Take note.....this is the epitome of a talented girl group. Beauty, confidence, big powerful voices that don't need any computer assistance, and perfect harmonies. Even without Dawn's obnoxious ego they are delicious to the ears!!

  • Nicely put. They are true to the words "GIRL GROUP"!!!

  • Nicely put. They are true to the words "GIRL GROUP"!!!

  • This is art.

  • I agree with you jmass. This video created a shift in the way music videos were created. Even the way the girls were moving in this video was emulated. It is so ahead of its time. No one is really making creative music videos anymore. Some may be weird but not creative. I hope Cindy, Terry, Rhona, and Maxine come back with some great songs and music videos.

  • Oh my god..u are still here...please make your exit.

  • I also think that this is some of En Vogue's best work. They really took a breath-taking step into the future artistically and many artists also moved in this direction after En Vogue so boldly took art and video to another level. This video, if you think about it was the one video that hit and then videos began to change from that point. Many people didn't want to get with it, but En Vogue did it anyway. They will always be tops in my book; they were bold, talented, and very funky.

  • FUCK DAWN!!

  • umm dawn was in this song...her vocals are all through the song

  • nope,it was edited, its all Terry's and Cindy ad libs

  • Dawn's voice can still be heard in the harmonies.

  • You know, you are such a hater. I see you often posting hate comments on En Vogues videos which is so not necessary because they are very innovative and talented artists. This song is not terrible its probably one of their best.

  • Their videos were truely ahead of time. I swear, they must have been claravoyant!!!LOL. Love Terry and Max, my fav's. And Cindy looks great too, but Terry and Max will always be my fav's!!!♥

  • The one thing I remember about this video was how tight those corsets where. That couldn't of been to comfortable, but they pulled it off.

  • I love this vid!! the best by en vouge.

  • The film adaptation for Sweeny Todd looks strikingly similar to this. En Vogue's videos are always ahead of the game.

  • They took on a gothic look in this video...but yes the videos are always tight..that's one thing that makes them stand out as artists!

  • Yes En Vogue!!! They pulled this song off with out dawn. Don't get me wrong i love dawn but with dawn out of the group it felt like something was missing. But I must say Cindy stepped up in this song and terri sounded great. I love how earthy Maxine is!

  • I used to love this video and I was in the 10th grade when it came out....it was so wicked and I loved it.

  • this video is sick!!I love it!

  • this video was so dope! I remember it coming out my freshman year in high school and i loooooooooved how it was directed. Kind of creepy but great video!

  • Iloved this song and still do.

  • love the song the beat is good

  • i looooove this video. this shit should've won something. so creative

  • I AGREE!!

  • and then there were three...lol love this song and video im all about them babe

  • When I say HOT,this video was HOT!Now of course, you have to be invovled in the arts to appreciate it.Regular, everyday, boring people won't like it!This video was made to represent a space age beauty parlor. They explained it in an interview.Hair, makeup, clothes, everything was HOT!En Vogue was way ahead of their time. Some of the concepts they used in their videos, most black female artists was'nt even creative enough to compete.I miss them!

  • nalumali, there are like 1 or 2 singers that come out ever yr that are good, there are just so many terrible singers with crappy styles and songs that are taking over the radio stations that we forget who those singers are today, hence, r&b is dead!

  • Exactly. The visdeo actually did go with the song if you think about it. The video's concept was "Change". It's saying no matter what changes we go through, I'm still going to be here: It's "Whatever".

  • to me it's not like en vogue to do a video like this it's kind of fake and creepy to me I like the beat to it that's all I have to say if you wanna say something to me about what I think of this video then you can I don't care

  • laurajackson18,

I remember when this video came out in 1997. I was in middle school and I did not like it.

But now that I am in my early twenties I can really appreciate this video. It is amazing.

It is very glamorous and high fashion.

It really goes beyond the obvious and fits the attitude of the song. En Vogue have always been edgy. So I can appreciate the video now as an adult. It was and still is ahead of its time- especially for an R&B video.

  • what is the name of this song??? i like it a lot and had it at one point, but dont evermore... please respond

  • *anymore of course:-)

  • The name of the song is "Whatever" :)

  • Waaouw , faisait longtemps ! Love this vid' (En Vogue! )

  • wow

  • i had this video on tape. one of my favorite :) i think i was 13 then...

  • LOVE IT....love the goth vibe which was so huge in 1997-98. I was 13 when this song came out, and I still love it.

  • I think when Dawn Robinson left the group En Vogue had to under go a new sound which was different from Funky Divas!! Remember it was 4 girl during that period!! so the 3 remaining memeber had to carry the torch! But I think that did a great job!! Cindy, Terri & maxine rock in this song.

  • i can't believe it's been 10 years since this song came out! i love it to this day!

  • i love this video! "Funky divas meets Manson" lol

  • me too anna from philly

  • Hopefully this new Cd they have coming out cements their status in the industry because right now they are considered has beens but if they can pull of a successful comeback then they will be legends!!!

  • Yeah I hope thaty do make a successful comeback because I don't think people should consider them "has beens" since they really created the girl groups they have been really successful

  • I think they could have a successful comeback if they came with the right songs and promotion. NO ONE will ever deny that en vogue is a talented group, but they need to update their sound. they should work with producers like neyo, brian michael cox, shep crawford, jimmy jam/terry lewis and maybe r.kelly. the classic en vogue sound, but updated.

  • r u kidding me...r & b producers today are partley the reason why r&b is dead right now..i mean think about, name one song today that was as good as any r&b song in the 90's..nothing!

  • those producers that I named still make good r&b music. TRUST, if they come with the same sound from their same producers, this next album will be ignored, because that sound is played out. shannon sanders did 'in my mind' for heather headley, which was good, and warryn campbell does good r&b stuff so maybe en vogue could work with them.

  • You have a point there...R&B is definitly NOTHING like it was in the 90s. I dont believe that if En Vogue came back with the same sound or even the same producers that it would be played out. It would just bring back good R&B music back with that old signature sound. New material and sound is always good. I would encourage En Vogue to work with new producers, but stick with thier soulful sound.

  • "Sexy Love" by Ne-Yo. And hell, that was produced by a bunch of Norweigans, lol. I wanna say "Until The End" by JT, but then all the Prince fans would beat up on me, lmao!

  • sexy love, sure a song sang by a faggot, who writes more songs for women than men, puts lip gloss on in his vid, but ur rite, I over exaggerated with my statment, but r&b today is still dead! and if u grew up in the 90's like me, then u would know

  • I believe they are already legends even though it's been a while....but a successful comeback would just top it all off!

  • The song actually went gold (500,000 sold) and the album (Ev3) went platinum (1 million sold), it was a let down because they expected it to be bigger then Funky Divas....

  • I believe it sold extremely well internationally. According to wikipedia, ev3 sold over 4 million copies worldwide. I remember it being in the top 10 of many international charts when it came out.

Nonetheless, ev3 did lack the attitude and versatility of Funky divas. Although I loved the CD, it was too adult contemporary for En Vogue...they are supposed to be the Funky Divas.

  • this is one of my favorite videos by them. i was 9 years old when it came out. it is saying i will change myself completely for you and your love. it's whatever

  • one of the best rock bands ever i hope the rock and roll hall of fame has them slated...i love this band...

  • Love these beautiful ladies! Very talented, classy, and can hold their own, which is more than I can say about the girl groups we have now, no talent what so ever!!!

  • EN VOUGE, IS TOTALLY HOT!!!

  • this video caused the song to flop. It was too edgy and entirely too out there for R&B.

  • This song was not a flop. It is certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies and was a top 10 R&B hit from the platinum release ev3 which sold millions of albums worldwide.

And this video was nominated at the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards for the category of Most Fashionable Video...damn, know what you are talking about.

  • nice ... rep 4 my girls they are forever the standard!! none have yet come close to their style sound and everything.. dont care how many records are sold... these woman are precious gems.. RARE!!

  • I never heard tht song before- I liked it & the video too. I think this video and a few of their later releses (from EV3 on)were really ahead of their time (style-wise) for R&B. Nobody was doing videos like this.

  • Dat is sooo true! lol

  • Very different approach than most African American singing groups. Very good too!

  • OH MY GOSH! This video is hot! It was LITERAALY 10 years ahead of its time! If this video had never been seen and released now.....

  • Cindy is the tall one, Terry is in the headgear, and maxine is the short one singing second.

  • This video kind of reminds me of "The House Of Wax" movie. But, ever since I seen this video on Planet Groove, I liked it. But the whole history of En Vogue confusess me. I now who Dawn was. But who's the tall one. Is that Terry? and who's the one that's in that headgear? Is that Macxine?

  • This video kind of reminds me of "The House Of Wax" movie. But, ever since I seen this video on Planet Groove, I liked it. But the whole history of En Vogue confusess me. I now who Dawn was. But who's the tall one. Is that Terry? and who's the one that's in that headgear? Is that Macxine?

  • i love this vid and song, its different from other en vogue vids. come back girls!

  • am i the only one who thinks this video is creepy?

  • lol no.

but i still like the song

  • LOL it is a lil freaky but no1 has done a video like dis b4 & it's been 10 years. a great vid. its ground breaking 4 dat time & even now.

  • Yes, I agree with Ashley35211. This video was higly fashion forward when it debuted in 1997. Now, with all the "Nip Tuck" and "Grey's Anatomy" craze, it's edgy and quite en vogue! I'm never giving up on the Original 4 EnVogue Reunion Album!

  • Esse video é muito louco.

  • I hated this video when it came out long ago. Now I can't believe how fashion foward it was. I guess because I didn't understand couture back when I was a little kid.

  • LOL. I used to feel the same way when it came out, and I was just a kid also. I don't know it may have been a little ahead of it's time back then. But anyway, I like it now. It's edgy and unique.

  • God. Shut up and watch the video.

  • "omg why is this video so scary?!?! lol...i love the song though, not the video "yikes""

this video is "scary" because mark romanek directed it, and because it is somewhat artistic. i know that scares some people, though. :P

  • listen to the song and put the video to it the video is saying that they are under the person spell and they will do whatever for him

  • actually, floria sigismondi directed it.

  • no i take that back. it was matthew rolston. ripping off florias imagery bigtime ;)

  • Wasn't the director of this video sued for plagiarising a fashion story styled by Isabella Blow back in the day? Was the director Matthew Rolston?

  • Get over it.

  • Interesting..."whatever" was the first single from EV3; "don't let go" was the single from the sdtrk. of "Set It Off". They shot another video (extended version) of "Don't Let Go (Love)" for the EV3 album but it was still not considered the first "single" from EV3; the first was "Whatever" and the second and only other single was "Too Gone, Too Long"

  • Whatever was the 1st single from the Album Don't Let Go Was one of the the 1st tracks to be recorded for the new album before it was titled ev3 but due to dawns departure they contributed the single to the set it off sdtrk ..and she had her final performance with the girls at a music award show. so they went back to the studio and decided to name the album well since it was only 3 girls they said EV3

  • If memory serves me, the vid for "Don't Let Go" came out first...probably prior to the album's release. I remember shortly after when it was time for the second single, "Whatever" all the entertainment shows of the time made a big deal about Dawn's departure...but "Whatever" was definitely the second single. Honestly, I think the "Funky Divas" did just fine after Dawn left. I love "Whatever" and "Too Gone, Too Long" and even the later single "Riddle".

  • oh yeah and i love how they sang the end of the song.

  • i remember this. en vogue always had the best videos (out of girl groups)

  • omg why is this video so scary?!?! lol...i love the song though, not the video "yikes"

  • The first single was "Whatever."

"Don't Let Go (Love)" was a single from the SET IT OFF sdtk., that they last just tacked on EV3.

  • Wrong. "Don't Let Go (Love)" is the first single released from 'EV3', followed by "Whatever" and then "Too Gone, Too Long." "Don't Let Go (Love)" is from the soundtrack for 'Set It Off'

  • Wasn't the first song from EV3 "Don't Let Go"?

  • No, Don't Let Go included Dawn she didn't leave until after that video was finished.

  • But wasn't the first song released off the album, EV3, "Don't Let Go"? I know that the video included Dawn, but the song is still on the album, right?

  • No, the first song off that album was "Whatever" "Don't Let Go" was on the "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" soundtrack.

  • i miss en vogue, but dawn shouldn't have left! damnnit!

  • The first video from the EV3 album in 1997. I like the video, but they just aren't the same without Dawn.

  • Matthew Rolston is the best; way ahead of his time. Also, En Vogue has worked with him on creations from My Lovin to Don't Let Go. Whatever was truly a piece of art in motion...and truly up to par with En Vogue's position as the forward thinking man's group!

  • Matthew Rolston is a genius! He has worked with the girls for years from My Lovin to Don't Let Go; also the look was way ahead of its time, but that is what En Vogue is known for...

  • funny that even after almost a decade since this video came out, it still looked like a cheap knock off version of NIN shock grotesque chick.

Oh well...I guess that's what happens when you hire a second rate director like Matthew Rolston that constantly copy Mark Romanek and David Fincher's visual style.

Funky songs though...horrible styling and too much drag make up for the girls!

  • Give it a rest hater.

  • I loved the models in this video... who are they

  • Very Funky , very En Vogue, still the Funky Divas. Hailed the most talented Female R&B Group ever, and one of the greatest Girl Groups in history.

  • Thanks for posting...I haven't seen this video in so long:)

  • I love this video and look for En Vogue....they are truly high fashion...

  • I vividly remember this video and song. I am highly disappointed to see them disappear from the R&B scene.

  • Ah, back when r&b was a legitimate genre. I miss these ladies so much.

  • I love this look!!!!

  • these women were amazing what the heck happened to them? i loved this song!

  • they are raising their children and enjoying family life. Family first. But they will always have a special place in the R&B realm.

  • Did anyone see this song performed live? The girls had colored hair wraps in (like dreads). I want to see that clip so badly!

  • Maxine is my fav however En vogue are and will always be an r&b proud sensation

  • En Vogue + Marilyn Manson. Lurv it! x-D

  • i remember diz video when i was younger that was right after dawn left i miss ev4 not 3 but 4
