On N64 you have to beat the temple before you can shoot the sun otherwise nothing will happen.

Other different thing is that I think that glitch of the hookshot doesn't works in all versions of the game...

@jaualmeria Only works on the very first version. Also in the first version you had the islamic chanting in the fire temple and ganondorf bled red when you beat him. They changed all that right after the first version. There are a whole other slew of changes they made which I forgot.
