The world is diverse. That is a fact. The best legal systems HAVE to be secular in nature in order to not favor one religion over another. I agree with u completely. Although I am abit unsure of the Taliban 'version' of sharia but having said that I still think that it is a step in the right direction. To say that Pakistan is an "Islamic" republic is a joke because the constituion of Pakistan has many unislamic laws in it. furthermore the Supreme court can revoke the ruling of the Sharia court based on Unislamic laws.

As long as one supports his/her argument/rule with the Quran and Sahih Ahadith in Islam it is considered correct. As muslims it is our duty to obey as long as it is supported by Authentic sources. I dont agree with many things in the Saudi LAw also but do u even know why they dont let women drive?
