  • ein wunder , dass sa überhaupt jemand in die luft kommt! ;-)

  • they shouldn't be flying there with those take-off skills

  • 1:06 is nice

  • YOUTUBE do you really think I am going to be interested in adverts that flash up over the content I am trying to watch? Really? Honestly? No I'm not... so YouTube why don't you feck off with your ad's!

  • Conditions are not to strong at all (they all have nice foward speeds once airborne), they simply have no control on their wings. almost all did the same mistakes: did not move toward the wing and did not brake it enough. The guy at 1.22 appearently never heard about reverse launching :D

  • HECTIC!

  • This is why I do paramotor,I don't need the wind to fly.

  • @1957Aubrey i remember seeing one guy on a motorised paraglider flying above me, i was thinking i might try it cause it looked fun, then i saw in the newspaper the next day he crashed and died, he was only 28 :(

  • Every takeoff is optional... every landing is mandatory!

Pilot Judgment appears to have bowed to group-think

  • CRW paragliding? i havent seen that yet

  • ...I would not want to launch in my hang glider in such turbulence.

  • come on you guys, this is Slovenia!

These people have to put rocks on their roof tiles to keep them from blowing away.

    Perfect wind conditions for Slovenians!

  • The weather conditions are absolutely challenging but the pilots do not seem very professional either.. Take off errors happen for each pilot but isn't this a little bit too much?

  • A little strong / turbulent / unstable conditions. Speed bar! Slovenia?

  • A little strong / turbulent / unstable conditions. Slovenia?

  • If I see that happening @ launch I know its time for a beer, not so much for flying.

  • that looks like fun :D

  • It give no too windy you only must can fly

  • I bet they're Germans

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a familliar sight in Slovenia but not from Slovenians... Chech schools come here to practise flying and they make loads of accidents!!!

  • The guy at 1:44 is in the most trouble!

  • Nature was calling them back to earth. Obviously they all were deaf and lazy.

  • Ground-handling is really important, sometimes its boring to ground handle but you'll feel so much more confident in your take-offs and landings, and even when you're flying you'll feel your wing more and understand what it's doing. A top grade pilot is a pilot that can fly well and take-off and land smoothly even in rough conditions(and also understands when it's not worth it).

  • Погода явно не та.

  • omg scary movie... pandemonium in the air o_O

can be clearly seen when there are two gliders near each other:O

  • Whoooh !! Joli thermique :)

  • yeah, they just need better ground handling. piss poor skills.

  • Watch it while listening this: "Brimful of Asha by Cornershop -(Fatboy Slim remix version)" (the original sound)

To watch it this way, it's a full another feeling... Like the wind dances with the gliders, and the pilots are just jerked by the lines... :D

  • These guys should be ridge soaring on the coast, not mountain thermaling in heavy winds! The person at 1:23 obviously has no idea how to handle a wing. It would be funny if it weren't so life-threatening.

  • kamikaze

  • nil wind!!! \o/

  • Remove the shame from Internet.

  • The wind and thermal ist not the problem...

    the pilots cant fly

  • I remmember watching this a couple of years ago. What is the soundtrack please? It's removed now :(

  • Some scary looking launches. They need a hell of alot more ground practice in strong winds. Thats how I learned and am a much better pilot for it.

  • Scary looking day. I think I would be on the ground.

  • For strong conditions like these start using A and C risers is a must. Learn it.

  • Will be good pilot

  • This launches are actually very good becouse you canot stay firm on your feet while the paraglider is in the air

  • @yoda19hack yea ok um what? good launches ??

  • the vid title says disaster launches, but a few were not bad, given the strong wind conditions. I actually learned some from watching theese launches; thank you for uploading this vid.

  • This aint just high winds, this is very punching thermals being broke up by the high winds. Good time to sit it out for a bit.

  • as a HG pilot, watching these floppy wings narrowly avoid killing their pilot scares the shit outa me.. i'll fly my HG anyday in those conditions, but a floppy part-time wing? Pfff, stuff that!

  • Bad things happen on hang gliders as well. I know. I have crashed both.

I think those launches say more about the pilots than what they are flying.

Trying to forward launch at mid day into the peek of a thermal cycle is not a terribly good choice.

  • wind conditions obviously sucked...where those guys so eager to kill themselves?

  • @jetaddicted its more like thermalling;)

  • too windy they could kill theirselfs

  • @nickthebizz

too amateur....they should practice more, before try to flight like this

  • Waaah Too crazy

  • these conditions (1:35) are to strong for paragliders...

  • Buy a hang glider !

  • Lol the 1st man with the blue and white glider try nearly 8 time haha

  • slovenien kobala?!

  • nice place...cool.....

  • rs.........meu deus, admiro a coragem desses caras dos panim

  • It looks like a pretty rough day.

  • thanks for posting-- shows how dumb some people are

  • sometimes its the pilot and not the plane!

  • If the conditions don't suit you DON'T LAUNCH!

The conditions are strong thermic and these people do not even have basic handling and launching skills.

  • I cannot believe that all these take-offs are happening what looks like to be on the same site. There must have been very thermic or turbulant conditions...or just very poor pilots. When i see take-offs like this, I pack my glider and look for a safer site or conditions to fly.

  • We had great instructors and they taught us ground handling, ground handling, and more ground handling. At the time we all thought this is boring we just want to fly. Like many things in life we'd didn't appreciate what they we trying to instill in us. So, lots of ground handling makes good paraglider pilots...

  • It kills me how the pilots watch the other guys launch and almost eat s@!$, then line up to go themselves! WTF????!!!!

  • Tolmin, Slovenia?

  • yes

  • Amazing that there was not a serious accident more by luck than good judgement I would guess as one other person said a very good reason to fly hang gliders

  • Exactly why I HG

  • Most of these guys are really bad pilots, flying outside of their safe conditions. No reason not to try PG... don't let others put you off. I know if I did that I would have stopped a long time ago.

  • 0:53 was pretty dangerous!!!!

how strong was the wind??? they don't move a bit after starting

  • Thank you for this very instructive material on how not to launch. Great for students in paragliding schools. Otherwise, it looks like a good (and pretty!) launching site (Mt Kobala, Slovenia).

  • good vid bad song

  • so vam že zvišali zavarovalno premijo?

  • I think this guy needs to go back to school

  • see that near collapse just after the guy takes off, shit!these guys are KEEEEEN.

  • lol funny...its pretty windy for paragliding...

  • Does anyone know where this site is at good try hard video

  • fanie, jestescie zajebiszci.

    pozdro

  • Great video.

Looks very thermic. The groung handling by all pilots was very poor but very entertaining to watch.

  • Guys, find some good instructor, and practice groundhandling alot...

This is very dangerous what you are doing..

    blue sky

  • wll i see its very thermic, the have colapses also after take off, so its not just about groundhandling...

  • it ain't the site... it ain't the gliders...

  • To hell with that, pack er up and go home or wait it out

  • Seems like those conditions demand a reverse launch... lucky that these were just bad and not truly disasterous... close enough though.

  • Assume you DID take off, against all rationality, and you are up 200ft in the air and you notice the wind speed is the trim speed... WHAT DO YOU DO? Big ears to get down? Speed bar to get foreward? Keep trim to get up, hoping the air would be slower farther upwards? I wouldn't know what I'd do.

  • I think this must be the costalunga in Bassano, we were not allowed to fly there after 12 oclock due to the heavy thermals. And now I understand why, these guys are probably polish , saw them there do al kind of stuff.

  • definitely not costa at Bassano

  • Kobala - Tolmin, Slovenia.. my home take off

  • man kind were never 2 fly :D lol

  • How can those people be let out the flying school?

  • This is the flying school :). Have seen a lot of them last year. Mostly from Hungary and Czech republic. This is my home take off - Kobala, Slovenia.

  • Oh ok, looks a bit tough for a school take off!

  • Dabei wäre es so gemütlich und stressfrei gewesen 2-3 Stunden am kühlen Wasser der Soca abzuwarten dass es ruhiger wird!! oder im Tal Grounghandling zu üben!!!!

  • Can't say anything about that. Didn't see how did they and ,,normal,, people take off :)

  • These have got to be RUSSIANS. Saw them in nepa taking off like that.

  • I do that trick on 1:19 al the time :) Pretty scary to go into nowhere backwards :D

  • Hihi ! It reminds me nice paragliding moments ! thanks for this vidéo !

    Hopefully pilots are safe !

LONG LIFE FOR FREE GLIDING !

  • I reckon, the air police would pull them over immediately

  • beginners with too much wind!!!

  • Great group of pilots. Feel safe with them around.

  • this is not funny!!!

  • Too funny ?? Too bad !! Return to school !!

  • U all with your "return to school" are so clever... Everybody is just learning - for the whole life. More tougher the conditions, more quicker u learn... - no matter if u are without experience or fully experienced. If u was in the PG school and practicing on small hills for years - thats your problem.

  • Mote tougher the conditions the more u learn? Hey asshole! We are not in a bank.

Paragliding is learning only slowly step after step!!! Every good pilot knows that. And every bad experience doesnt make u better.. it makes u even more worse!

  • More tougher the conditions the more u learn!- YES exactly, of course. Not only in paragliding but everywhere in life - is this really new for u? And every bad experience does not makes u really better - I never wrote that, but gives u experiences to avoid that second time! The only bad thing in PG is - there is no much space for bad experiences... But the priority of my comment was not about that, but "Everybody is just learning" - this is what I wanted to write.

  • rofl - The tougher the conditions the faster you learn - or the shorter you live!

  • too funny....

  • Looks almost too windy for safe launches

  • Landing on ROTOR !!!

  • The song artist is Fatboy Slim, the title is something Brimful of Asha...

Nice video, just the pilots are without experience... they should not fly in these conditions.

  • Great!:) Who is the song artist? What's the song title?

  • artist is cornershop i think, not fatboy slim..

  • Definately Cornershop! and yes Brimful of Asha!

  • this would be awsome and so sweet good stuff

  • nice school material and examples of what not to do! it does look windy and a tad gusty, but mostly these guys don't seem to know how to do a safe reverse inflation in those conditions.

  • Becouse of pilots like that, we have here so much accidents...it's even worse when you see instructors when they are sending beginners to fly in that kind of connditions.... :|

  • Is that how ya get up there eh..? LOL looks tricky!

  • clearly a tough launching site, or all the flyers just suck! j/k of course not but gee i worry bout em

  • It's mt Kobala in Slovenia.

  • Yes great Video, you are right Andy! Where is the Place?
