what pad are you using to practice on? I'm looking to invest in some and I've been told that some brands don't work well with Axis pedals.

@chopmaniac it's a gibraltar bass drum practice pad. I use it with my Axis Laser doubles.

Here's a short review: My max bass speed is 16ths at 185 BPM. For that, the practice pad suits me well, and I'd say it would work fine with faster speeds as well. I havent really tried anyother practice pads but IMHO, it seems sturdier than what ive seen on the internet. My only complaint is that it shakes, so in order to fix that, I put some 20lb dumbells on it to hold it in place. Hope I helped =)
