  • thats some healthy rugby training..... its so elegant .....

  • as gareth edwards said, u can be taught how to sidestep but u cant be taught when to do it. the timing is very important and u are either born knowing it or suck at sidestepping.

if u ask me, shane williams is so far one of the best jinkers in the world. watch him play and his timing is absolutely perfect. one of his best steps : the one when he stepped past bryan habana, he made habana looked like an idiot (but still habana is bloody gas!! :D)

  • @hehehahadog watch benji marshall side step one day..lol

  • Jeremy Guscott was a very good player ( and this is coming from a New Zealander) All these drills are great at building the fundamental foundations for a good sidestep but the truly great side steppers in world sport also have anticipation, timing, and vision which no amount of coaching or practice can teach because unfortunately its all instinctive. For the best wexample of the sidestep in World sport check out Benjie Marshall, NRL Wests Tigers and Kiwi Rugby League teams and New Zealand Touch.

  • this is an intresting training...in italy we don't do this.......but is very important!

  • all his saying kids is kik ur opponent inda face

  • Great Summary :D!

Generally named Hand Off or how we say it in Italy: Frontino (what a stupid translation :V)

  • lol its true ormaybe elbow smash , :d

  • Crap coach.

  • Nice wellies jeremy!!

  • The people best at sidestepping don't think about it they just do it, as the saying goes "The sidestep is the small mans retribution in a game for the big"

  • You can learn how to sidestep, but you can never learn when to sidestep

  • agreed that is where natural talent comes in.

  • Meaning? The timing? Or the decision making?

  • All of it, its a feeling you get, when you make the move, wich direction you are gonna go. you have to be able to read ahead, see what comes next. And all of that mostly happens in a split second, so you can be fast all you want or have a sidestep of 2 meters but its not gonna help you if you dont know how to use it.

  • If you wanna side step all you need to do is be able to run fast. The faster you can move your legs whilst side stepping teh better

  • side stepping is a natural talent it cant be taught

  • you can learn to sidestep as well as spell in your case m8

  • You can learn how to sidestep. but itl never be as good as anyone who has the natural abilty.

  • Mate it's not whether you can sidestep or not, it's whether you can fool the defenders and shift your pivot fast enough to evade them.

  • Is that why Connacht are shit?

  • bluddy hell its the basics!! so eay!!!

  • If you wanna learn how to step type in William Ryder on youtube.

    You'll learn no time.

  • cheaz this has helped me evasion more affectively
