  • Only 12 m boat for such big and heavy Hundested? How many weighs it? Hot bulbs have typically 40-50 kg/HP so it can weigh at 5 t.

And what is a displacement of this boat? I think not more than 10 tons. How many weighs boat itself and how many carriage can it take?

  • @Motaro76 Hello, this is not my boat. I was just looking around :)

  • I had a Norwegian fishing boat 53 ft, called {hav bris } in 1978, with a big single cylinder engine, a hot bowl where you had to blow lamp the cylinder head before foot pumping in fuel, then air start it, the cylinder was about 6 foot tall, sounder just like you’re engine it did, LOL.

    Thom in Scotland.

  • @fuelban

Oh, I also dream about a boat! 53 ft is yet too big for me, coz I'll sail only alone.

Is your boat for sail or for motor only?

    Seven feet under keel!

  • sometimes i think that boat engins sound better than car engins

  • 8:1 compression ratio? so is it gasoline powered? and why do they call it a hot bulb?

  • It runs on dieselfuel, but the engine must be preheated before start. It has a preheating chamber =hotbulb

  • oh! that makes sense =) i had no idea

  • @sealovers17

Preheated. the Hundested I have been out with, have no preheating, but a firecracker....startpatron.

  • @johnsenkenn Ja, det fungerar godt med en startpatron

    också.

    Ha det godt.

  • compression ratio?

  • Hello. About 6-8:1 for a hotbulb engine, a modern Scania dieselengine has 18:1

    Have a nice day.

  • Gorgious sound!!!

  • Thanks. Don´t forget to lock at my other movies about old engines and machines.

    Have a nice day.

  • When I was about 12 my parents bought a Norwegian fishing boat with a 30 HP Union single cylinder semi-diesel. We passed through Hvide Sande and Esbjerg, this was in 1974. The harbours were full of fishing boats like these. The sound of the engines running was amazing...

  • I can remember the Danish harbours Skagen and Hirtshals during the years 1985-87. There was a lot of fishingboats likes this one. Today it´s just a few of them left. A lot of nice boats and ships has become scrap in Grenå and Esbjerg. Everything according to EU´s fishing policy. I have made a movie about the scraping business in Grenå. But I have to edit first.

    Have a nice day.

  • looks like it would make a super seaworthy yacht!I love the look of it.

  • Very nice, I would love to own that boat just to be able to run the engine. But the wood boat maintenance would kill you...

  • Yes, I agree. This boat is to big, I think maximum length is about 8-9 meters, that´s enough work for one person.

  • Where was this filmed (I´m Danish)?

  • Hej. Det er helt syd på Köpenhavn, i Bröndby, en lille fiskeri og lystbådshavn.

Maskinen var i sund og god stand, men traevaerket traenger en kaerlig hånd.

Men det var en god båd til prisen.
