@neonknights To be fair, the Cahiers du Cinema definitely championed and analyzed them at a level no one was doing at the time. But yes, the designation "B-movie" is completely ridiculous. Their films were highly popular, made with big budgets, and John Ford was nominated for 4 Best Directing Oscars.
