They are not going to write it in the show, there is not going to be a McBaby - yet. After all, Derek hasn't built them a house yet, where would the kid play? *lol*

They will film without Ellen as she gets closer to her due date and will film a few scenes with her afterward they can edit into the show later. Good thing they are always several episodes ahead with the fliming :-)

i read somewhere that the creator of the show had a pretty good idea for her maternity leave...they usually do just film chest up or make them hold things in front of there stomachs.

Its Ellen Pompeo who plays Meredith and as stated above, they film so they miss out bump and use photoshop. Chyler Leigh who plays Lexie was heavely pregnant in last series and unless you lokked u wouldn't have seen bump. V well done.

At the end of season 5 I seriously thought that they were going to keep the character of George but because his face was unidentifiable he would have plastic surgery and become a different dude so that T.R. Knight could leave the show, i didn't want them to break them all up. I'm glad Izzy is still alive though,
