I eat fake meat, or soy based meat because it tastes good and I know there's no grease or complex animal fats or proteins to digest. It's just like eating plants in my mind so it's healthier.
I eat fake meat-like products because I grew up on it for 22 years, and the act of eating those kinds of foods is still within me. For me, change is a gradual process.
The culture behind our food is clearly a reason for the fake meat, also considering a mass market behind people forced into keeping meat outside of their diet because of a medical condition (because they don't have a personal reason to stop eating it besides their health, clearly they would miss the "real deal")
I sometimes have fake meat because I like to try lots of vegan food and, if I like a product and it happens to be fake meat, then I'll continue to buy it. Not really to do with missing the taste of real meat.
We vegans still like traditional dishes like burgers, BBQ, Tacos etc. It would be a shame to not have vitamin rich substitutes for these staples. I always missed certain meat dishes after going Vegan.
Fake meat is like fake leather. Leather looks good, fake leather feels good too ;)
I applaud you for admiring that meat actually taste good! I may disagree with you about cows and dogs being the same but at least you're being honest about the fact that a burger taste good ;)
@triordanmn Both cows and dogs are animals, loving creatures and want to live! Just because we don't keep cows as pets doesn't mean they deserve to live any more or any less than dogs. (Sorry if you think I sound silly, but I'm just speaking from my heart!) :)
@LizPlant I don't htink you sound silly I just disagree, many animals eat just one, or several other animals and not 'anything that walks'. Nothing abnormal about an animal eating one creature and leaving another untouched.

Also, I agree. It can be easier to serve non-vegans fake meat so they have something to eat that is similar to what they normally eat.

Have you noticed most fake meats mimick those of processed (unhealthy) meats.
Haven't seen a fake ribeye or t-bone steak.
