they need to make a modern version of it.... same body, same chassis, different transmission, a little bit more power from modern engines, lighter modern materials, anti lock brakes, power steering... and bang! the next sucessor of this car! :D
Late reply but still... - I race bikes, but I think the reason there are so few swedes in car racing is because of the death of Formula 1 race winner Ronnie Petersson in the late 70s. It is ages ago but general car racing interest seemed to die with him.
This was the best racing series format for Le Mans type cars and for all modes of sports car racing if only the ACO would pull their collective French heads out of their asses instead of pandering to big money teams that produce these F.1 cars with bodywork instead we could again have a golden period of real racing at Le Mans and in the FIA GT world championship!
I disagree. First of all it's ironic to call mid '90s as golden era, because it was quite the opposite... great but a golden era of Group C and World Sportscar Championship happened preceded to precede that. After World Sportscar Championship was cancelled and Group C died sportscars has never recovered properly. And Le Mans has been about prototypes ever since the Porsche 917 in 1969.
Didn't this guy narrarate 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1997?
