After a half dozen plays or so, the general consensus of my gaming group is that the Fantasy Flight edition is excellent! And this is a group of Eon loyalists. Fantasy Flight has made beautiful components and it is obvious that this version was made by people who love the game. Great overview Scott. Thanks!

2 attacks? I hvae the old GW version with cones for ships and up to 6 players, we never played 2 attacks, when did that happen? anyhum great video scott keep them coming :)

That's been in all the versions I've played (West End, Mayfair, Avalon Hill)- if you are successful in your first attack, you get the option to take a second attack. But it might not have been in the version you played.

I just happen to have my three editions of Cosmic Encounter under my right elbow, and so can easily confirm that the original Eon edition has the second attack.

My wife hates the game, so I have no idea how talk her into allowing me to get my hands on a fourth edition :)

Every version of the game published in the last 30 years has used two attacks. The first attack must be WON, of course ... but, if it is, a second attack is guaranteed.

OK, my experience is with online and the overproduced MB version, so all these extra options I'm going to have to research, but this one looks really neat, and if it can play the same as the online version, I'm excited. That is, if it wasn't so hard for me to get :)
