that is stupid in canada having steering wheel on right and road traffic on right what about buses passengers will have to get off the bus onto the road because the bus doors wont be by the side walk
I've seen a couple of right-hand drive cars here in Seattle. Except for mail delivery vehicles, I've never seen any here in the USA. It's rather weird. I've visited England, where they're more common.
@Veikra In fact, I believe 65 countries drive on the left. Its interesting to note that there are several countries globally that officially drive on the right, but consist mostly of RHD cars for various reasons.
@joey19930303 I was just listing those we are more likely to have heard of it. Yes, it's interesting to see counrty driving on the right with mostly rhd instead of lhd. It goes to show driving position isnt all that important. Just look at china vs macau and hong kong. china is left side traffic and macau and hongkong are right side traffic. Or check what just happened in the samoa islands :p
@Veikra China actually drives on the right while macau/hong kong drive on the left (being former portuguese and British colonies). Its funny to note you do find quite a few RHD cars in China near the border with Hong Kong, almost all of which are stolen and resold on the mainland!
Its not so much that driving position isn't important, but in Cambodia ~50% of cars are RHD because they are cheap to import/are stolen from Thailand and resold. In Burma, over 95% of cars are RHD for similar reasons.
@joey19930303 that's what I said about china. left side traffic = right hand drive car. Still don't find driving position to cause any problems, except that having my first gear away from me is not as pratical.
@joey19930303 oh whoops, wrote it backward several posts ago and was wondering why you saying no and repeating what I though I said ^.^ . and yes cause hongkong was under british control when china became right sided in the 50s, so it remained that way. Sucks we can't get any RHD in Quebec because of the moratorium. It's one thing to import a car that's cheaper that local ones, but another when it's a car we've never had and can't buy any other way. :s
Actually in Canada you should be driving RHD vehicles as its a former British colony...but i don't know why you follow American style??

I think that's a Nissan Silvia. RHD vehicles aren't super uncommon in Canada, especially in big cities like Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal.

@Veikra You've got it backwards mate. China - Right-side traffic = left hand drive car (as in the same as the USA).
Hong Kond/Macau - Left-sdie traffic = right hand drive car (as in the UK)

@Veikra Thats a shame. I guess you could have a RHD car converted but it wouldn't really be the same, would it?
joey19930303 1 year ago
@joey19930303 It would scrap all the value of the car, since cuttting up a perfectly preserved collection car tends to do that.
Veikra 1 year ago
yea its definatly a nissan silvia or a 180sx with a silvia conversion not really a big deal theres all sorts of jdm cars in Canada lol
