  • Can we have more videos of this game please

i really want to see what the asterite looks like on this version.

  • @dobindave Not a problem! Seeing as I finally have it working 100% properly (for some unknown reason) I'll have to record more footage at some point.

I did leave my disc behind, so I'll probably add in some other audio (just like with this video).

  • @Vazecktomi

Great look forward to that i have the original copy on disc but it

will not work on vista or 7.

  • I wish I still had this game...

  • I actually found this game CD for Windows 95 the other day while cleaning out a drawer! I can't get it to run on XP though...keep getting an error message about DLL files. Can anyone help me? ...keeping in mind that I'm not exactly a computer genius. Any simple solutions?

  • @TheMacawlady im no expert, but when it comes to dll files , theyre usually just missing and i would google the name and find a download; afterwords i would place it in the appropriate folder.

  • @TheMacawlady Maybe you'd have luck if you had the Ecco PC Wizard? I got it to work on XP with that, so give it a try. It took me about 4 tries with that program before it decided to work for good, and the results are amazing! :)

  • do you have the names of all the pc version music files?

  • Better than runescape.

  • betther than silkroad online^^

  • It works with 98 SE? That's the virtual machine I have too! Do you run virtual PC on Windows or Mac? If Mac, VMware or Parallels?

Wow, congratulations on all the tweaking! It looks really good! I wish you good luck with vsync working!

If you figure everything out? Could ya tell me all the things to do to get it working smoothly? Ha ha. You rock! Thanks again for the vid!

  • I'm running Virtual PC on Windows XP. As far as everything else is concerned, I think I have to link my Virtual PC to XP so that I can send ATI drivers to my Virtual PC. The ATI drivers would then allow me to enable vsync under display properties. That's just the theory, though, I haven't had time to test it out.

  • I finally got Ecco PC to work correctly under Virtual PC 2004, using the Win98SE Package. While I experience occasional slowdown, that may be due to the paltry 64MB RAM I've allocated to Virtual PC -- I may need to increase it to reduce slowdown. The speed, however, is remarkably regular. I went into Control Panel -> System -> Performance -> Graphics, and I dragged the Hardware Acceleration bar to "None". (: That's all it took!

  • Grar! You beat me to it!

But thank you for providing this! Did you purchase the game or download it? Was it the Caverns of Hope PC Rip? I've gotten the audio to work on there about 3 of the 40 times I've tried, so don't feel bad about it saying it can't play the music. LOL.

Thank you for the video! Really cool!

  • I bought it for real cheap off of Amazon. I'm still tweaking it with Virtual PC - Windows 98 SE. I can get the music and cutscenes to play perfectly, at the cost of my sanity; the game runs at 40-200 FPS (roughly -- perhaps even higher?!) with these new settings, so now I have to figure out a way to enable vsync on Virtual PC. If all else fails, I'll just play it on my old PC; that awesome piece of junk still works! (:

  • @akpokemon Strangely, I got it to work on XP, no virtual machines running at all. I don't know why, but after about the 3rd or 4th time trying to patch it with the Ecco PC Wizard, it just magically works flawlessly.

  • I had this for the Sega CD, and it remains one of my favorite games of all time to this day. The soundtrack is amazing.

I still run XP Pro SP3 and have never had a problem getting older games (95) to run on it. Sometimes it's best to copy the contents of the CD to the root of a partition, then install from there, not the CD. Vista & 7 on the other hand, forget it. When they stop supporting XP I'm keeping this PC as a retro/emulator console.
