@HolyWarspunishmentdu on a seven string, get heavy gauge strings (lowest two = around .072 and .056, the rest just follows a seven string set of .010's) and tune F#, B, E, A, D, G, B. (or alternatively drop-e) and have at it. It'll buzz a tad without a proper setup, hence the demand for eight string guitars.

am I the only one who notices that Archokarlos almost never uses the number of strings that meshuggah uses? Like he either tunes down a 6 string or a 7 string instead of just using a 7 or 8 string.

I can. The leads are shit in this cover. I have a sixstring baritone at F-Standard, once I get some cameras I will do mainly deathgrind and deathcore, but with my tunings, expect most Meshuggah out there.

You see for me, I would fail at playing through tabs. I learned by ear, and I suck at any other approach. I view the guitar differently. As such, I am handicapped as well as more well-grasped at guitar. You might feel that playing by ear is superior or some such, but for me it is the easy route. I want to learn to play guitar the normal way, but I do not have that ability it seems.

But it is all in the ears, all in the mathematics.
