I totally agree with you Jill. I just hate spending $10 for a movie just to hear people talking around me. People still forget to turn off their phones. I would rather watch movies at the comfort of my own home. Hope you get to see Star Trek soon. :)

My favorite is still the people that bring their little kids to horror movies and let them run around screaming and crying through the whole movie. If you can't control your children maybe the theater is not the place for them. My other favorite is the people that sit through half the movie talking on their cell phones "oh hell ya dawg". Unless you're a doctor or waiting for a donor heart you do not need to have your phone on and even if you are a doctor there is a vibrate function.

The fact that people don't have the decency to keep in mind that there are other ppl in the same environment who might actually want to watch the film in peace is what bothers me most. If someone annoys me enough I'll definetaly let em have it.

I hate when people kick the back of the seat! I'll turn around and say "Stop it!" and it they dont, i throw popcorn over my shoulder so it hits them!!! Same thing if they talk....
I get irked when after dropping close to 40 bucks on tickets and refreshments I have to endure piss poor A/V quality. It's even worse when the picture is not centered on the screen or is obstructed by a sheet of paper taped between the projector and the window in the booth. No shit, this actually happened. I don't hesitate to get up and let "theater mgmt" know about it. It's due to complacency with theater staff. As long as they collect their check at the end of the shift they don't care.
when I went to see episode one there wa a kid sitting behind me that would quote everything Jar Jar said, among other characters. I turned around and looked at the kids mother and said "are you going to let your kid talk through the whole fucking movie ore what". I turned around to thumbs up and high fives from strangers in mt row. All I heard from the kid the rest of the movie was sniffling. I don't play games at the theater, I paid good money ya know.
When I went to see E.T. there was a group of kids in front of me that must have seen the movie a dozen times. They kept saying what was going to happen before it happened. "This is where E.T. dies." "This is when E.T. comes back to life." AAAAaahhhhh!!!
I refuse to go the cinema any more on account of irritating, bad mannered, fucking people, who just want to talk, chew each others faces off, or eat crisps and ruffle sweet bags. The last time I went to the cinema was 7 years ago to see 'Bourne Identity' in London's Leicester Square, but only because I figured the place would be deserted on a Sunday afternoon, and could watch it in peace, and it was. Hardly any fucking people there. Bliss.

when the movie "When a Stranger Calls" came out... I went to see it with 2 of my friends. The movie itself I thought sucked. Well, there were these 4 black ladies in front of us... omg. They made that movie suck less when one of them yelled "bitch, don't go up the stairs.. the door is right there" omg. it was so funny. Then whenever the girl started screaming, I screamed really loud and EVERYONE started laughing. Usually, I hate this stuff... but it made the movie much better... haha. :]
lol you were only 5 when ET came out? I was in high school, and hated that movie. Not because of the movie, mind you, but because of all the squealing, well, five year olds talking and giggling at everything ET would do, even things that weren't funny. I wish you'd been there to shut them all up. Then I had to see it a second time a few weeks later when we got carded for an R-rated movie and couldn't get into anything else.
But Pete's Dragon was the worst. We couldn't hear the movie what with all the kids talking and laughing. For some reason we wanted to sit in the front, and this kid kept running up to the screen, and then running to various seats, including the one next to me. Then he'd stare in my face for a while. I didn't realize my coat was overlapping onto his seat until I had to decide: Hmmm, do I walk outside in the cold with no coat, or do I walk around smelling like a five-year-old's wet pants?
the wolverine movie was really good... star trek was alright... seemed to be more hype then anything..but there are some scenes that where awesome.. and this weekend i hope to see more movies
Don't go to the movies because of my hearing impairment so I wait for them to come on DVD so I can watch them with CC. But i will go to the movies if a good movie has CC provided but then again I like to watch movies in the privacy of my own home.

I actually had two girls who would not shut it during the last Harry Potter, so i turned to them and said " you know, people have gotten shot for talking @ the movies. They left real quick. When I go with others, I either get very annoying and talkative, or just stress, or something.. ain't nothing like being alone. Or with someone who don't really give a crap. Just saw Angels and Demons def not as good as the book. The movie tends to focus too much on the action side of the story and not enough on how they are figuring out the mystery.

I saw Taken and I think it is the best action movie I have ever seen. Why do people feel the need to chat during a film in a theater? We did not pay to hear their chatter. Chatter is not a problem at the H. P. Lovecraft film festival.
I don't like talking during the movies, and haven't had too many problems with it in the past. I guess the worst thing about going to the movie theatre is the cost. Prices have gone up quite a bit in the past several years. I try to buy passes in bulk ahead of time from the Entertainment book. Usually I can go for about $6 / ticket, however can't see new releases with passes. Paul and I like going on Monday nights because the theatres are practically empty. :)
Talking during movies is high on my hate list. Poor theatre etiquette in general upsets me, whether it's at a movie theatre or at a live performance. I teach theatre, and the two things that are hardest to teach are listening and general courtesy... mostly because those are poorly taught by parents. Students are marked down A LOT when they're rude to performers. My classes are not "Easy A's".

Love the vid Jill, but in my opinion. In my opinion I would pass on Star Trek. No you do not need to know anything about it to follow this one. But as far as Stark Trek movies go, I would wait until it comes out on DVD/Blue Ray. Haven't seen any that interest me. Looking forward to "Transformers 2" and the Maurice Sendak movie, "Where the Wild Things Are", coming out in October. Just wondering what movies, or types of movies really get your blood pumping?
One annoying moment when I went to see the movie, Hot Fuzz, there were two guys right in front of me and they almost spoiled the ending, till the person at the far end threw a drink at them. Lol

What I really hate the most in movie theaters is when I see a movie I'm really excited about, someone is sitting nearby saying how much it sucks or voicing their opinions for the whole world to hear in the middle of the goddamn movie. I kicked a guy in the back of the head once for that :)

Me too, I hate the talking Nubes. Im a closet romantic too. I had management kick someone out for having a nonstop conversation during a movie once. Otherwise I tend to just turn around and glare at them, real tough like, it tends to work. Oh yeah, I once shouted out, anonymously, shut up, at the top of my lungs, creating total silence for the rest of the movie.
I saw Terminator Salvation last night/this morning. Only like 10 people there. I think I liked the lack of people better than the movie. It was so nice and quiet in there. Made it so much more enjoyable. I think I'm only going to midnight showings from now on.
Ghosts of Girlfriends' Past. Yeah once these people in front of me were texting and talking to their friends and I kicked that person's chair so hard they almost fell off. And once I went to the movies with my mom, and her crunching with the popcorn...SO ANNOYING! But out of politeness, I just ignored it...hardly.
I've seen Star Trek, it's awesome. I'm going to see the terminator tommorow. I hate when people can't use the bathroom before the movies. Especially, when it's someone in your party. Then they come back missing an important chunk, and they want you to explain to them what they missed, WHILE the movie is still playing. Geez.

When ever I go to the movies with my Dad...anytime anything remotely gross, funny or shocking happens (even in the previews) he hollars really loudly. Like taking him to see Dumb and Dumber was the worst idea ever. Or any movie containing something gross...he is just SO loud...I hate it.
About 5 years ago I had to start refusing to go to the movies with my sisters friend as she would always keep asking questions throughout the entire film.
Other pet peeve is when the theatre messes up (like slight frame problems etc), which happens more than I would expect it too.
Heavy breathers are also very annoying.
Apart from Star Trek, i've not seen much for a while. I may go see Wolverine at weekend or Angels & Demons. Movies for the summer are Transformers and Harry Potter.
Some noise just can't be helped BUT as you pointed out there are always inconsiderate people who think they have something to say DURING the movie. Don't worry though because those people will probably be eating during the zombie apocalypse.

None of these movies that are coming out this summer don't interest me one bit. I'm very honest about it. Drag Me To Hell should have been an R rated film instead of PG-13 for terror and violence, thematic elements and strong language. They should just change Drag Me To Hell from Rated PG-13 to Rated R.
I never go to the movies anymore, since there's really nothing worth watching. All they have now are remakes and movies about older shows. It's like they're running out of ideas.
During my high school years, we had a drive-in movie theater in town. Good thing about drive-ins is that you didn't have to put up with people talking. Downside is that you missed other people's reactions to the movie. So, after a while I would go to a traditional movie theater b/c I missed the audiences reactions.

The only movies I enjoy at the theater are action packed or epic. Such as LOTR, Star Wars, Wanted, Transformers... you get the pic. :)

The fact that people don't have the decency to keep in mind that there are other ppl in the same environment who might actually want to watch the film in peace is what bothers me most. If someone annoys me enough I'll definetaly let em have it.

I get irked when after dropping close to 40 bucks on tickets and refreshments I have to endure piss poor A/V quality. It's even worse when the picture is not centered on the screen or is obstructed by a sheet of paper taped between the projector and the window in the booth. No shit, this actually happened. I don't hesitate to get up and let "theater mgmt" know about it. It's due to complacency with theater staff. As long as they collect their check at the end of the shift they don't care.

when I went to see episode one there wa a kid sitting behind me that would quote everything Jar Jar said, among other characters. I turned around and looked at the kids mother and said "are you going to let your kid talk through the whole fucking movie ore what". I turned around to thumbs up and high fives from strangers in mt row. All I heard from the kid the rest of the movie was sniffling. I don't play games at the theater, I paid good money ya know.

I refuse to go the cinema any more on account of irritating, bad mannered, fucking people, who just want to talk, chew each others faces off, or eat crisps and ruffle sweet bags. The last time I went to the cinema was 7 years ago to see 'Bourne Identity' in London's Leicester Square, but only because I figured the place would be deserted on a Sunday afternoon, and could watch it in peace, and it was. Hardly any fucking people there. Bliss.

Jill, You are the hardcore woman I wish I could have. This is why I don't go to movies any more. I hate it when people talk and bring the babbies. The last time I went to the movies I was 17. I took a girl I worked with at James Coney Island to see How high, a good stoner flick. In the mid part of the movie a cell phone rang and a baby cried. I was irritated but I didn't say anything because I didn't want her think I was a jerk. You can turn a cellphone off but not a baby.

when the movie "When a Stranger Calls" came out... I went to see it with 2 of my friends. The movie itself I thought sucked. Well, there were these 4 black ladies in front of us... omg. They made that movie suck less when one of them yelled "bitch, don't go up the stairs.. the door is right there" omg. it was so funny. Then whenever the girl started screaming, I screamed really loud and EVERYONE started laughing. Usually, I hate this stuff... but it made the movie much better... haha. :]

lol you were only 5 when ET came out? I was in high school, and hated that movie. Not because of the movie, mind you, but because of all the squealing, well, five year olds talking and giggling at everything ET would do, even things that weren't funny. I wish you'd been there to shut them all up. Then I had to see it a second time a few weeks later when we got carded for an R-rated movie and couldn't get into anything else.

But Pete's Dragon was the worst. We couldn't hear the movie what with all the kids talking and laughing. For some reason we wanted to sit in the front, and this kid kept running up to the screen, and then running to various seats, including the one next to me. Then he'd stare in my face for a while. I didn't realize my coat was overlapping onto his seat until I had to decide: Hmmm, do I walk outside in the cold with no coat, or do I walk around smelling like a five-year-old's wet pants?

I like going to the movies alone when there is just a few people, and I can just sit and totally immerse in the movie. When I go with others, I either get very annoying and talkative, or just stress, or something.. ain't nothing like being alone. Or with someone who don't really give a crap. Hey I almost made a friend who I assumed wouldn't give a crap about small stuff, considering what he had to put up with in his own life. But he got offended, wanted respect. I have no friends as we speak.

I saw Taken and I think it is the best action movie I have ever seen. Why do people feel the need to chat during a film in a theater? We did not pay to hear their chatter. Chatter is not a problem at the H. P. Lovecraft film festival.

I don't like talking during the movies, and haven't had too many problems with it in the past. I guess the worst thing about going to the movie theatre is the cost. Prices have gone up quite a bit in the past several years. I try to buy passes in bulk ahead of time from the Entertainment book. Usually I can go for about $6 / ticket, however can't see new releases with passes. Paul and I like going on Monday nights because the theatres are practically empty. :)

Talking during movies is high on my hate list. Poor theatre etiquette in general upsets me, whether it's at a movie theatre or at a live performance. I teach theatre, and the two things that are hardest to teach are listening and general courtesy... mostly because those are poorly taught by parents. Students are marked down A LOT when they're rude to performers. My classes are not "Easy A's".

Love the vid Jill, but in my opinion. In my opinion I would pass on Star Trek. No you do not need to know anything about it to follow this one. But as far as Stark Trek movies go, I would wait until it comes out on DVD/Blue Ray. Haven't seen any that interest me. Looking forward to "Transformers 2" and the Maurice Sendak movie, "Where the Wild Things Are", coming out in October. Just wondering what movies, or types of movies really get your blood pumping?

I saw Obsessed the other night--the only part worthwile is the ending fight scene haha. My sister's friend is in Ghost of Girlfriends Past (she plays Clarissa), but I haven't seen it yet.
What I really hate the most in movie theaters is when I see a movie I'm really excited about, someone is sitting nearby saying how much it sucks or voicing their opinions for the whole world to hear in the middle of the goddamn movie. I kicked a guy in the back of the head once for that :)

About 5 years ago I had to start refusing to go to the movies with my sisters friend as she would always keep asking questions throughout the entire film.
Other pet peeve is when the theatre messes up (like slight frame problems etc), which happens more than I would expect it too.
Heavy breathers are also very annoying.
Apart from Star Trek, i've not seen much for a while. I may go see Wolverine at weekend or Angels & Demons. Movies for the summer are Transformers and Harry Potter.

I saw Terminator last night and i thought it was pretty awesome. Although I was kinda lost at points because I never fully saw the old movies. But yeah I can't stand it when I'm watching a movie, or lets say, a scary movie and all I hear is little 13 year olds laughing/giggling and over exaggeratingly screaming! i haven't been to the movies in a while; but i hate it when people talk in the theatre also and i have to sit at an end seat because i hate when people get up in the middle of the movie and try to get through and put their butts right in your face so i sit at the end that way when i see someone coming i just stand up until they pass and i do the same thing when they come back.

None of these movies that are coming out this summer don't interest me one bit. I'm very honest about it. Drag Me To Hell should have been an R rated film instead of PG-13 for terror and violence, thematic elements and strong language. They should just change Drag Me To Hell from Rated PG-13 to Rated R.

I never go to the movies anymore, since there's really nothing worth watching. All they have now are remakes and movies about older shows. It's like they're running out of ideas.

During my high school years, we had a drive-in movie theater in town. Good thing about drive-ins is that you didn't have to put up with people talking. Downside is that you missed other people's reactions to the movie. So, after a while I would go to a traditional movie theater b/c I missed the audiences reactions.

i think that we should be BFF's too! i HATE HATE HATE people that talk or even open there cady during the movie why cant they think ahead and do that crap before the movie starts.. oh and people with there cell phones not turned off or at least to vibrate then they start talking on the phone ... huh i really just want to take there phone and put it in a place that the sun has never seen!
