I know this is supposed to just be fun as it is only syrup, but seriously. This was actually a form of torture, some people even died! I don't see how this is educational to reenact something so horrible.

THE NEXT "FUN" ASSIGNMENT SHOULD BE A PUBLIC HANGING. THEN MUCH OF THE SCHOOL CAN GATHER(as the crowd of sheeple used to), SHOOT AND MUTILATE THE VICTIM, using cap guns and plastic swords so that "no1 gets hurt"...In fact, to make it more official, get the biggest and/or baddest non-caucasian along with a couple makeshift horses. Tar, feather and tie each set of limbs to the horses headed in opposite directions and make the horses pull the person apart(usually set on fire b4 being dismembered)

This was a form of torture. People would get 3rd degree burns and be deformed for life. Try waterboarding next time. "Indian style"... nice. Of all the things to reproduce from the past, why this? What does this teach them?

Actually people usually did not get more than a 1st degree burn. Pine tar was used alot and it cooled quickly. It was a great form of humiliation. Still there where alot of asses that never learned their lessons.
