"The Great Controversy," by E.G. White. God bless all who hear this message this brother is informing christendom of. The harlot is alive and well to steer every fowl bird in her cage. But Jesus gives us warning through the apostle John in revelation to "come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues." Revelation18:4. HEED...And COME OUT.
We go against this system by exposing its lies and bring to rememberence its "never" changing edicts and laws and decrees that it states from pope to pope...that the "church(catholic)," is "infallible." This institution created the Jesuits to infiltrate all other religious institutions by "any" means( deceit, beguile, imitators of good etc), to knock the institutions pillars to the floor by usurping high offices and then "changing" the direction of the institutions. Check out the book called...
The World ignored the Apostle of the Church age of Philidelphia (Rev 3:7) Today they call him a false prophet. The "Called" out one's (John 6:44,65) are only in one organization (Matthew 16:18) Read: The Bibles Greatest Prophecies A Voice Cries Out.
Yes, many of the mainline denominations have something rather bizarre about them. They still include elements of Catholicism in them such as infant baptism. Also, many of the mainline denominations such as the Presbyterian Church have become very affirming towards Islam these days.
@Kyouryuu5000 They've all( denominations and the "non denominational" churches in christendom) fallen from the bible as the only authority in a believers life. They have "boxed" themselves in from "learning" anything, because they have "structured" "their way" as the way. God wants us to hear the "Good Sheperd" wherever His voice is echoed( via scripture unabridged). We are to read and "learn" the bible and not sign our alligiance to some denominational banner( which many have done).
The 10 commandments of the Bible total 295 words in length. However, the Roman Catholic 10 commandments are a total of only 77 words. This is an open attempt to change the Law of God, regardless of the fact that Jesus Christ Himself declared in Matthew 5:18, "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law..." The Catholic church has removed 218 jots and tittles from the Law of God just as Daniel stated they would in Daniel 7:25.
I've learned so much from your videos. It is also a preparation for living a holy life. The world is so polluted that we don't know anymore whom to believe. So many interpretation of the bible. Praise God for wisdom and knowledge that you are there to educate us spiritually. More power and God bless you and your loved ones!
What about those churches that were "NEVER" part of the catholic church? That is why it is incorrect to call all non catholic christianity "protestant" because there roots do not go back to protestantism.
@LoveGrownCold, so you have attributed yourself with the power to judge me with a guilty verdict. And I thought the Son of the Most High mentioned not to judge others. It is only the Most High who can grant forgiveness of sins through the shed blood of His Son, according to the Bible...not a priest or a pope or minister or any other mortal human being.
Thank you Brother Rick for this wonderful video we MUST share...Blessed be the memory of beloved BROTHER ALBERTO RIVERA....who exposed these truths fo us..and his beloved family who continue to PROTEST and the memory of slain beloved John ARRABITO, who also died by the hand of the murderous Jesuits. We shall carry on their mission...no matter what it takes! God bless you Rick!
The only true protestant is one who completely forsakes all of Rome's doctrines, dogma, traditions, catachisms, apostolic authority, canon law, state of the dead, and especially the false sabbath which is 1st day rest and observance as the "Lord's Day. Has anyone gotten a chance to read The Great Controversy or Early Writings yet? Check it out at ellenwhiteestate. period organization. Thank you.
@bornbythesea if such a church would exist it would be a church that teaches Jesus is not God nor the son of God and a church that does not believe in the trinity. If a church you described would exist, it would be a church that doesnt believe in the bible or the commandments of God. lets hope and pray such a protestant church would not exist.
@dis00612 you are right, I should have qualified my statement with "those that are unbiblical". Thank you. Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment is come, and worship Him that made heaven and earth, the sea and the fountains of waters. Revelation Ch. 14.
IOW, Seventh Day Adventists are the "only true protestant"[s]. Better tell all those Calvinists & Lutherans & Methodists: they think they are Protestants. Apparently not.
The trouble with "forsak[ing]" "all of Rome's doctrines..." is that this involves denying the Deity of Christ, the creation of all things by God alone, the Resurrection of Christ, His Ascension into Heaven, the inspiration of Scripture, & much more. "The only true protestant" seems to be an atheist LOL
The pope is the anti christ the pagan roman emperor constantine changed the sabbath day from sat to sun so that he could embrace his sun worship. latter on the popes enforced the change. daniel said the anti christ would enforce this change. the freemasons on our dollar bill have shown us that they want to bring sunday worship look at the pyramid at the top is the eye of satan and the sun. they want to make a new world order with sun worship and the pope is leading them because the pope is 666
Ezekiel 16:23-25 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the LORD GOD;) That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an HIGH PLACE IN EVERY STREET. Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.
Also. We have power to heal the sick and raise the dead because Jesus dwells in us. The same Spirit that rose Jesus from the grave dwells in us also. We are suppose to do those things, being children of God. Jesus did a lot of those things while He was on this earth, and we have to do so too, through Him.
There are some things I disagree on. I know that there are some preachers that teach on being rich and stuff like that, but I Creflo Dollar is teaching on how God doesn't want His people to be poor. People say that preachers are preaching a prosperity message when they teach us on how to manage our money. Thats crazy. If I'm in debt, wouldn't I want help on how to manage my money, and know what blessings I have according to the Bible.
Mat 6:10 "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven."
The Catholic Church teaches that she is the VISIBLE portion of the Church, which includes the angels, the saints, the canonized saints, etc. This is "on earth as it is in heaven."
And you are misleading people on what the indulgences were. It can only be given to those sins already forgiven by the Church. (Being forgiven by God is a different issue with the Church. You have to be reconciled to both.)
@rickydepths1 Then you will know from the Catechism: 1471 "An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven... An indulgence is partial or plenary according as it either removes part or all of the temporal punishment due to sin. The faithful can gain indulgences for themselves or apply them to the dead." --- I am not sugar coating. I am telling you what the Catholic belief is. Know the difference.
@LoveGrownCold This same doctrine was opposed by Luther because the priests of that time attempted to sell "forgiveness" to the highest bidder. In other words they could continue doing whatever they pleased as long as they paid the priest for forgiveness. But who can forgive sins but God. No man has the authority to forgive you of your sins. Jesus Christ and the Father in Heaven are the only ones that can forgive. For feeble mortals to lay claim to the rights of God is blasphemy.
@rickydepths1 As far as I understand the corruptions, the actual doctrine at the time stated actual punishment. However, like people who abuse otherwise good systems like health insurance, car insurance, or government aid, this doctrine was abused. I am not denying it happened, but it went against the Catholic doctrine.
I believe this is why Luther thought the antiChrist has stolen the Papal seat. I believe Alister McGrath has it that Luther still respected a Pope's existence.
@rickydepths1 The scribes made this accusation against Christ. Matthew 9:8 "But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men." Notice the plural version of man was used, not the singular in bestowing this power of God. You must slow down when you read the Bible and not read through it so that you can brag that you read through it x number of times. Just because you read the Bible does not mean you understand the Bible.
@tcorris There is a documentary called "While You Were Sleeping Full Documentary" on Youtube. I suggest doing a search on it and watching it in its entirety. Peace be with you.
@rickydepths1 Not a fan of Monsanto, but this video is a mischaracterization of the Churches role and position. Also, this favorite scripture quote (Rev 17) was almost removed from the New Testament by Luther, as he wanted to remove 4 books including Revelations. Of course if he did that, the evil Catholic Church would today be accused of adding those four books to the New Testament along with the 7 Old Testament books they added (Luther removed those books in his Luther Bible).
@rickydepths1 One of the first things JC did after the ressurection was empower his apostles to forgive sins, acting "in the place of Christ". It is JC who does the forgiving, no doubt about it.
Luther was for sure right about how selling indulgences was a bad thing. Never a teaching of the church though.
@LoveGrownCold, there is difference between Biblical teaching and Catholic belief. Simply compare the commandments in Exodus 20 or Deuteronomy 5 and compare them with the Catholic version of the 10 commandments. Notice how the second commandment has been deleted by the papacy; how it modified the 4th commandment and made it the 3rd commandment and how it divided the 10th commandment in two. Psalm 89:34 and Malachi 3:6 states that God will not change His laws nor does He change.
@LoveGrownCold If you read the book "In her sister's shadow" John F. Kennedy paid the Vatican a handsome sum so his wife Jackie's sister Lee could be granted a divorce to remarry. THIS IS NOT OF GOD...NOTHING in ROME is of GOD's TRUE CHRISTIAN PEOPLE! NOTHING!
@LoveGrownCold, God is spirit and as such, must be worshiped in spirit and in truth. Only the Most High can forgive one's sins through the sacrifice and shed blood of Jesus. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Christ and Redeemer of mankind...mortal men cannot forgive.
@Habsfan0206 We can forgive others when they have sinned against us, but does that mean that we have the power to forgive their sin so that they do not incur punishment from God? Does a priest announce the forgiveness of God or do they actually forgive the sins of others? Look this question that you repeat: And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, "Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God only?" Luke 5:21 -- You sir are guilty of being of the yeast.
@Habsfan0206 Jesus specifically gave the power to His Disciples to forgive sins. What you believe isn't Biblical. What you believe isn't Christian. You must be a Protestant who thinks he/she is Christian.
@ChrisDaron, He gave power through the Holy Spirit to His disciples to share the gospel of salvation and of the repentance of sins to Jews and Gentiles. Only God, through the shed sinless blood of Yahushua (Jesus), can forgive sins, not any mortal human being.
@Habsfan0206 He gave the power o His Disciples to FORGIVE or not sins. As simple as that. Disciples are humans. He gave the power to HUMANS. It's in the Bible. Don't change the Word.
@ChrisDaron, please provide Scripture where Christ taught His disciples to forgive sins and Scripture where His disciples forgave sins. Christ gave power - through the Holy Spirit - to His disciples to carry on the great commission as mentioned in Matthew 28:18-20. In Acts of the Apostles, you will see that Peter, Paul, etc. taught the gospel of salvation through repentance and the remission of sins by the blood of Christ. Only God can forgive sins (Mark 2:7) not a mortal human being.
@ChrisDaron, speaking of not changing the Word, the 10 commandments in the Bible total 295 words; however, the Roman Catholic 10 commandments total only 77 words. It is an open attempt to change the Law of God even though Jesus Christ Himself declared in Matt. 5:18, "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law..." The papacy has taken 218 jots & tittles from the Law of God just as Daniel stated they would in Daniel 7:25.
@ChrisDaron, I did respond to your previous post and I'm looking forward to yours on where Christ taught His disciples to forgive sin or where the apostles forgave sins with Biblical verses to support your claim. As for my post about the Catholic commandments being different from those listed in the BIble, it's another point of discussion I would like to raise.
@ChrisDaron, as for the numerous sects in Protestantism, the evil one who is the author of lies and confusion has sadly created lots of doctrinal division in the faith. That being said, the Bible does define the saints or God's children as those who keep His commandments (re: Exodus 20) and the faith of Jesus / Yahushua.
@LoveGrownCold Why bother being "forgiven" by a church system if you are assured that you are forgiven and accepted in the beloved by the eternal God who reigns forever and ever? Are you insulting Him and saying His forgiveness is not enough? Are you trusting in things that are seen instead of the unseen? What's up with that?
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. But see, there is joy and revelry, slaughtering of cattle and killing of sheep. The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him.

Frank Sinatra paid the Pope at the Vatican $300,000.00 a short while before he died, in order to make sure he went to heaven. He insisted on doing it his was right up until the end. I'm sure many warned him of the folly of his ways.
Solus Christus!
Soli Deo Gloria!
Sola Fide!
Sola Gratia!
Sola Scriptura!
There is NO other way! ONE mediator between God and man - the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)
Now I do not believe that Sola Scriptora is a Biblica mandate. However, I do feel that extra-biblical writings must be subordinate to the Bible. Although much of SDA theology is indeed found in scripture, much of what EGW wrote is not. It seems that the origin of some SDA doctrine is exclusive to the writings of EGW.
There is nothing wrong with having extrabiblical writings as long as they are subordinate to scripture.
40,000 sects. each claiming to be right. The Holy Spirit is not with the Protests, that is why I returned home. Lucifer Rebeled against Heaven and wished his own Kingdom, just as men have rebeled against God's Church and have set up heretical modernistic Churchs or stopped going to Church at all and waving the scripture around at people with their memorized portions instead of reading the whole of the book to understand the fullness of God's Plan....
I think its important to remember that the true bride of church is known by her obediance to the voice of Her Lord which he said they would know and He knows those who are his. They are scattered across history in many years and do not partake of evil in His Name. Why would anyone want to join the KKK- dont they know how silly they look in those hats!
To call oneself a denomination under any religious preference is moronic. There is only truth. However, there are many variations of the truth, which include self indulgent lies. No matter what religion you adhere to, the truth is the same for all. Don't ally yourself with a consensus of belief. The truth is given to you, not by people of similar beliefs, but by what you accept to be true as your heart tells you.
The KKK and Benny Hinn are not true representatives of Protestantism. True Protestants do not practice racism, burn crosses nor do they preach the prosperity gospel. Theheat151 is correct, Calvinism is Christianity!
@InTheSpirit12 sadly when the worldlings look at Christianity that is what they see from the false teachers. They don't see those that have been persecuted for Christ. They don't see that true Protestantism has fallen from whence it came. For the scriptures state, "In the last days there would be scoffers, mockers...and those that hold the truth in unrighteousness"
@rickydepths1 i saw the vids. i have stopped watching TV ministries since i started researching the mystery schools aka illuminati. something told me they were interlinked. i am not sure how deep that rabbit whole goes. i don't know how many preachers have sold out. with that said those clips were sound bites some legitimate heresies and others just sound bites. i am no fan of creflo but there was no proof of him giving to the poor or not. many of those preachers don't only preach on money..
@InTheSpirit12 get rid of all your isms.that is what separates. Christ is christianity. love thy neighbor is Christianity. walking in the Spirit and not the flesh is Christianity. you can follow calvin i will follow Christ. you should too!
Ism's do not separate, heresies separate and it should. Or else we would all be going to Creflo Dollars church, right? Oh, and the old we follow Calvin straw-man was kinda cute. :)
@InTheSpirit12 i was just making a statement. i know you don't worship calvin. and why do you mention creflo. life is a struggle for him as well. thats my point. we are so interested in calling people out rather than praying for them and there members. do you think Christ is proud of us when we mock each other. do you think he is bragging about one group over another. i am convinced that Christ is grieved over the whole body. if you don't feel that pain are you truly walking in the Spirit?
@InTheSpirit12 you have "convinced " yourself of a self righteous attitude. you are essentially saying you are more special than another man. i don't need to drop scripture to know this is the wrong mindset. you are convinced God has led others astray while he blessed you with revelation. you are not living in humility like Christ who was the very creator. You are not fit to teach or lead. a leader in this kingdom must be filled with compassion, meek, and walk in humility. if this is you show it
Ok Joe what is the correct mind set? Did Jesus have the correct mind set when he rebuked & exposed the pharisees for their false teaching? Was He not showing enough humility when He called them names like brood of vipers and sons of the devil?
Why do you have a problem with calling out false teachers?
Why are you a sympathizer for Creflo Dollar?
Do you advocate the prosperity gospel also? After all your user name is joe"PROFITS".
@InTheSpirit12 don't be foolish to profit isn't only tied to money. creflo is not a pharisee he preaches salvation through the lordship of Jesus Christ. Pharisee's were Jewish scholars who were self righteous through the law. does that sound familiar. i have a problem with men who are not Spirit filled but are trying to judge spiritual matters. we are permitted to prosper in the west until persecution comes. we are to help our third world brothers with our "riches".
@intheSpirit12 cont however the LEAST shall be the greatest in the Kingdom. this is talking about humility not position, worldly, nor Heavenly wealth. Jesus chose to to humble Himself into serving us though He was the Creator and the King of Glory. see the problem is most people don't even know what the bible is saying but quote scriptures. only Spirit filled people should teach. No self righteous person should try to expound on scripture. Humility and love are the marks of Spirit filled people
LOL....I knew it!! I knew there was something wrong with you. You jumped on me not because of me being Reformed but because I spoke against your false wicked prosperity gospel. Wolves hate the watchmen who blow the trumpet on false prophets. Thanks for singling me out as a threat to your teacher and his wickedness.Tell Creflo to sell one of his Rolls Royce's and give it to the poor. Riches are not always a blessing it can also be judgment read psalm 73.
@InTheSpirit12 did you read my second post? i am no follower of creflo or anybody else. My teaching comes from the Spirit. when did i say anything that credits me a heretic? you are full of yourself and very self righteous. i on the other hand am nothing and Christ is everything. what does a rolls royce have to do with the state of ones soul? was abraham a sinner for being wealthy? how about solomon? wickedness is in heart and deed not money. you cannot please God by being poor or rich.
@InTheSpirit do you have proof of creflo hoarding money. do you know if he feeds the poor or not. you sound jealous. the root of the matter is teaching and character. not material possession.
Are you against Baptism because it has an ISM at the end? Maybe if you studied Reformed Theology, then you would know that is the most accurate representative of Christianity. Reformed Theology(Calvinism) teaches Monergism, which means "Work of God ALONE".
would Jesus approve torture of our enemies such as the terrorists in order to get information from them (or for any other reason)?
the reason i ask is, it seems as tho most politically conservative "christians" are PRO torture. I firmly believe that Jesus would not do this, He would not torture anyone in order to extract information or for any other reason. yet those who supposedly represent Him are willing to torture others. Love your enemies?
God has ordained the authorities to do what is needed to protect the righteousness from the wicked.Jesus warns us to obey the laws of the land or be threatened by the sword ourselves.(Rom 13:4-5). If we live righteously we will have no fear of them. Terrorist are evil & want to murder mass amounts of people. Torture one wicked man to save countless others, yes. I don't know what Jesus you believe in. If the wicked die in unbelief Jesus will throw them into hell to be tortured forever.
@InTheSpirit12 unorthodox? so what? since when does orthodox mean correct? all it means is you follow church traditional teachings rather than scripture. the pharisees were "orthodox". the catholic cult is "orthodox". so what spirit are ye of?
Nope, I hold to sola scriptura that's all. The pope is Antichrist. The pharisees were also Antichrist for rejecting Christ. So what is your point if you have one?
@InTheSpirit12 I was asking you a question. what spirit are ye of? the spirit of murder (antichrist) that Jesus identified was in James/John? or the spirit of Christ?
think for a moment. you say you are protestant correct? yet the same principal you say is right is the one the catholics used to murder those they hated. Jesus said to SOLDIERS do violence to NO man. pope says KILL your enemies. Jesus says LOVE your enemies. do good to them. which is the true christian teaching? to kill or love?
The way the RCC used torture was for pure evil motives. Murdering bible believing Christians for not bowing to the papacy is evil. They have always wanted to rule the world even to this day. Using this I believe is different if it used for the motive to save innocent lives. I know Christians are divided on this issue but everyone has a right to their opinion. This would actually be a good video topic for debate.
@InTheSpirit12 I guess one could say Jesus used torture/murder to save a multitude of lives...His own torture/murder. I know He gave Himself, but He was also murdered by mankind none the less. yes everyone has a right to his own opinion. but soon those who truly follow God will be the enemy. the majority of professing christians will be the murderers of God's people after "protestants" form the image to the papacy. God bless.
@rusda2 Good morning r-u-sda-2? I hope you are well. Your YT name seems obvious to me.
You have said in a post "I also hold to sola scriptura" Please do not take offense to this. I would never castigate one for a belief that gives them comfort. But how do you reconcile having a modern day prophet and extrabiblical writings and hold to Sola Scriptora?
@InTheSpirit12 Luk 3:14And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, DO VIOLENCE TO NO MAN, neither accuse [any] falsely; and be content with your wages.
Jesus said this yet those who claim mainline christianity go against this and say to torture is ok if we need to for protection. something is wrong here.
The sinful indulgences via Leo X, have been confessed as sin by the Catholic Church, so that has no bearing. The Catholic Church has an economy weaker than the state of Illinois! It is not a military might. It has No Jewish population. It is a tiny importer of goods. All these things used in scripture to describe Babylon! Babylon is the END-TIME super-power. The Catholic Church was NEVER a Super-power. God Bless You
Do you know who started this theology and the circumstances around it? Luther did!! Saying Leo X was the Antichrist AFTER Leo X did not give him the time of day and ignored him continuously. But, Luther said a lot of stuff about people he did not like, especially the Jews. This dates back during a time when the Catholic Church had some power over Luther's country, Germany!
Be it known unto all, that all of the Protestant Reformers including Sir Isaac Newton, believe the Catholic Church (NOT ISLAM) to be the beast power of Rev 13. and the seat of the Pope to be the Antichrist...
Good video. Daniel Ch 7 is so clear as to the identity of the antichrist/sea beast of Rev 13, nobody need to be deceived. Even all the major reformers like Wycliffe, Hus, Luther, Calvin, and Zwingli (who would be shocked to see what has happened to Protestantism) identified the Roman church state as the anitchrist. Soon the beast will receive it's power and will rule the world...for a short time thank God. Thanks Ricky for this video.
Absolutely my friend, the truth must be told even if it hurts:
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Babylon is always the world super-power nation controling the wealth and military might of the civilized world. Scriptures call the Persian Empire, Babylon, when they were ruling. This is 100% in line w/ eschatology of Babylon. Facts are that out of 196 countries there might be 3 Catholic leaders. America has had only ONE Catholic President.
Islam greatest arc enemy is the Catholics, & Islam is undoubtedly is the Beast from The SEA (Rev 13:11-18 Dan 7:7-28; Dan ch 2-12) it has to fit the holy book. Islam controls the worlds oil and has the most religious leaders in power over nations. Catholics do not even fit the biblical description of Antichrist, my friend. Like it or not Catholics believe in Christ, so they do belong to God, according to scripture. God Bless You
Um, i think you are just stating a random idea of yours and not fact. There is actually a decent amount of proof that the Vatican played a role in creating Islam. Walter Veith has done a video about this. Also I was reading articles about Obama. You know where Obama learned islam? From a CATHOLIC CHURCH in Indonesia. Also, look how the Catholic Church has helped the Albanians against the christian Serbs in Kosovo.
Arminianism is what is destroying Christianity. Christianity wasn't having this problem when Reformed Theology was in the forefront in the 16th, 17th, 18th and early parts of the 19th century. You should study the heresies that came out during the Second and Third Great Awakenings - ALL Arminianism.
@theheat151 Many choose to follow man's philosophical ideals and interpretations instead of allowing the bible to speak for itself. I try line upon line, precept upon precept...which has worked for me so far in getting discernment on certain things. I heard that Calvinism and Arminianism have been debating for years. The Calvinist and Methodist are two that love theological debates. I tend not to seek to enter into strife. But we much share the truth with good conscience towards Christ
True Christianity is the Reformed faith. It is the Reformed faith that teaches Scriptures alone, Faith alone, Grace alone, Christ alone and Glory to God alone. It was the Reformers who fulfilled Revelation 18:4, when YHVH said "come out her, my people". Reformed Theology was excelling in early America for 3 centuries until Arminianism came around in the late 19th century that caused Christianity to be in shambles today.
I feel really sorry for those deceived by such misleading doctrines. I think they're equal to those scams where they tell you you've won a million dollars etc. But the thing here is that ppl lose their souls in the process. I'm not sure if this is what Paul was saying in 2 Thes 2:10-12 "because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"

If I'm in debt, wouldn't I want help on how to manage my money, and know what blessings I have according to the Bible.
demetriusmurch 1 year ago
Mat 6:10 "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven."
The Catholic Church teaches that she is the VISIBLE portion of the Church, which includes the angels, the saints, the canonized saints, etc. This is "on earth as it is in heaven."
And you are misleading people on what the indulgences were. It can only be given to those sins already forgiven by the Church. (Being forgiven by God is a different issue with the Church. You have to be reconciled to both.)
SHAMEFUL!
LoveGrownCold 1 year ago
@LoveGrownCold I looked up the definition of indulgence my friend. There is no way to sugar coat the unbiblical teachings of the Papacy
rickydepths1 1 year ago 5
@rickydepths1 Then you will know from the Catechism: 1471 "An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven... An indulgence is partial or plenary according as it either removes part or all of the temporal punishment due to sin. The faithful can gain indulgences for themselves or apply them to the dead." --- I am not sugar coating. I am telling you what the Catholic belief is. Know the difference.
LoveGrownCold 1 year ago
@LoveGrownCold This same doctrine was opposed by Luther because the priests of that time attempted to sell "forgiveness" to the highest bidder. In other words they could continue doing whatever they pleased as long as they paid the priest for forgiveness. But who can forgive sins but God. No man has the authority to forgive you of your sins. Jesus Christ and the Father in Heaven are the only ones that can forgive. For feeble mortals to lay claim to the rights of God is blasphemy.
rickydepths1 1 year ago 2
@rickydepths1 As far as I understand the corruptions, the actual doctrine at the time stated actual punishment. However, like people who abuse otherwise good systems like health insurance, car insurance, or government aid, this doctrine was abused. I am not denying it happened, but it went against the Catholic doctrine.
I believe this is why Luther thought the antiChrist has stolen the Papal seat. I believe Alister McGrath has it that Luther still respected a Pope's existence.
LoveGrownCold 1 year ago
@rickydepths1 The scribes made this accusation against Christ. Matthew 9:8 "But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men." Notice the plural version of man was used, not the singular in bestowing this power of God. You must slow down when you read the Bible and not read through it so that you can brag that you read through it x number of times. Just because you read the Bible does not mean you understand the Bible.

@rickydepths1 Not a fan of Monsanto, but this video is a mischaracterization of the Churches role and position. Also, this favorite scripture quote (Rev 17) was almost removed from the New Testament by Luther, as he wanted to remove 4 books including Revelations. Of course if he did that, the evil Catholic Church would today be accused of adding those four books to the New Testament along with the 7 Old Testament books they added (Luther removed those books in his Luther Bible).
tcorris 1 month ago
@rickydepths1 One of the first things JC did after the ressurection was empower his apostles to forgive sins, acting "in the place of Christ". It is JC who does the forgiving, no doubt about it.
Luther was for sure right about how selling indulgences was a bad thing. Never a teaching of the church though.
TheLogicalPosition 2 weeks ago
@LoveGrownCold, the catechism is not of God. Only the Bible - the Word of God - suffices.
Habsfan0206 10 months ago

NOTHING!
Taharah007 1 year ago
@LoveGrownCold, God is spirit and as such, must be worshiped in spirit and in truth. Only the Most High can forgive one's sins through the sacrifice and shed blood of Jesus. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Christ and Redeemer of mankind...mortal men cannot forgive.
Habsfan0206 10 months ago
@Habsfan0206 We can forgive others when they have sinned against us, but does that mean that we have the power to forgive their sin so that they do not incur punishment from God? Does a priest announce the forgiveness of God or do they actually forgive the sins of others? Look this question that you repeat: And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, "Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God only?" Luke 5:21 -- You sir are guilty of being of the yeast.
LoveGrownCold 9 months ago
@Habsfan0206 Jesus specifically gave the power to His Disciples to forgive sins. What you believe isn't Biblical. What you believe isn't Christian. You must be a Protestant who thinks he/she is Christian.
ChrisDaron 3 months ago
@ChrisDaron, He gave power through the Holy Spirit to His disciples to share the gospel of salvation and of the repentance of sins to Jews and Gentiles. Only God, through the shed sinless blood of Yahushua (Jesus), can forgive sins, not any mortal human being.
Habsfan0206 3 months ago
@Habsfan0206 He gave the power o His Disciples to FORGIVE or not sins. As simple as that. Disciples are humans. He gave the power to HUMANS. It's in the Bible. Don't change the Word.
ChrisDaron 3 months ago
@ChrisDaron, please provide Scripture where Christ taught His disciples to forgive sins and Scripture where His disciples forgave sins. Christ gave power - through the Holy Spirit - to His disciples to carry on the great commission as mentioned in Matthew 28:18-20. In Acts of the Apostles, you will see that Peter, Paul, etc. taught the gospel of salvation through repentance and the remission of sins by the blood of Christ. Only God can forgive sins (Mark 2:7) not a mortal human being.
Habsfan0206 3 months ago
@ChrisDaron, speaking of not changing the Word, the 10 commandments in the Bible total 295 words; however, the Roman Catholic 10 commandments total only 77 words. It is an open attempt to change the Law of God even though Jesus Christ Himself declared in Matt. 5:18, "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law..." The papacy has taken 218 jots & tittles from the Law of God just as Daniel stated they would in Daniel 7:25.

ChrisDaron 3 months ago
@ChrisDaron, I did respond to your previous post and I'm looking forward to yours on where Christ taught His disciples to forgive sin or where the apostles forgave sins with Biblical verses to support your claim. As for my post about the Catholic commandments being different from those listed in the BIble, it's another point of discussion I would like to raise.
Habsfan0206 3 months ago
@ChrisDaron, as for the numerous sects in Protestantism, the evil one who is the author of lies and confusion has sadly created lots of doctrinal division in the faith. That being said, the Bible does define the saints or God's children as those who keep His commandments (re: Exodus 20) and the faith of Jesus / Yahushua.
Habsfan0206 3 months ago

Correction: I thought I had corrected this to say that SOME of what EGW wrote is not in the Bible.
If my first post did not go through, let me know and I will post it again.
mark0454 1 year ago
Now I do not believe that Sola Scriptora is a Biblica mandate. However, I do feel that extra-biblical writings must be subordinate to the Bible. Although much of SDA theology is indeed found in scripture, much of what EGW wrote is not. It seems that the origin of some SDA doctrine is exclusive to the writings of EGW.
There is nothing wrong with having extrabiblical writings as long as they are subordinate to scripture.

@InTheSpirit12 I would respectfully ask:
would Jesus approve torture of our enemies such as the terrorists in order to get information from them (or for any other reason)?
the reason i ask is, it seems as tho most politically conservative "christians" are PRO torture. Torture one wicked man to save countless others, yes. think for a moment. you say you are protestant correct? yet the same principal you say is right is the one the catholics used to murder those they hated.

The sinful indulgences via Leo X, have been confessed as sin by the Catholic Church, so that has no bearing. The Catholic Church has an economy weaker than the state of Illinois!
