  • umm monkey brains really??

  • post Spiritual Machine OLP I cannot get with, they neutered themselves losing Mike Turner... however, I did like Do You Like It... and this song is pretty decent

  • Best song on the album, no doubt. Sounds like Our Lady Peace, rather than that other band that released "Healthy in Paranoid Times"

  • can't find a bass tab for this D: someone help me out?

  • Am I the only one who thinks this could potentially be about the devolution of American politics??

  • if there is a song that i want to hear during my last minute on earth it will be this one.

  • For all of you that are upset with the "change" in OLP's music.....Go out and buy The Beatles' album "1". Listen to the album from Track 1 to Track 27 right straight through, and tell me the difference you hear in the music/lyrics. They grew up. And they still kicked ass. Now, I'm not comparing The Beatles to OLP, just making the point as the band grows up, so does the meaning behind their music and lyrics. I still feel you need to respect these guys for what they still have to offer, oldr or not

  • @Sparrow36313 good comment, man! wish more people thought like this! \m/

  • @Sparrow36313 Except the band didn't grow up, it went for simpler lyrics and music as opposed to the Beatles who became more intricate and insightful with each album.

The beatles started as a pop band and morphed into a rock band. OLP started as a rock band and morphed into a pop band.

  • Badda ba dadda badada badda badadda dadda badada badda badaddaba ba ba ba............ba ba!

  • This song is just amazing:)

  • Oh, come on. If OLP did the same music now as they did ten years ago, it'd mean that they hadn't changed at all. And honestly, how much would we respect them then? I applaud them for trying something new, and for maintaining their originality through all this time! :D

  • Go to a show and it all makes sense! OLP makes great music and puts out an amazing energy when their on stage. The complexities of the music will grow on you the more you listen to it. That is quality in my book. Ef'n love YOU OLP

  • This comment section went to hell when a man named Kenny said something.

  • Everyone's complaining how 'mainstream' and how much OLP 'sold out' on Burn Burn. My opinion is that they really didn't sell out! It's still unique, it's just alot different from they're earlier work.

  • My favorite album to listen to by them is probably A Decade seeing as it spans all their different styles of songs.

  • @Slacktoo

Naveed was so Grunge it wasn't even funny..

Burn Burn on the other hand is pure Canadiana rock

  • @kennygmang nothing wrong with grunge!! :D

  • @starsweet4

hey, if I actually had the willpower to try and listen to more of it, Grunge would be my 2nd favourite music genre...

from the 8 or so Nirvana songs I heard / play

    3 AiC songs

    4 Soundgarden songs

5 or so Pearl Jam songs

    and 3-4 STP songs

(many form Rock Band / Guitar Hero)

    I've enjoyed many...

my fav is easily Man In The Box by AiC, closely followed by About A Girl by Nirvana

  • @kennygmang naveed f'n rocks...i dont know what your on...but starseed is pure genious

  • @Slacktoo where are you getting that any of the songs on BB sound like coldplay?!?

  • While I like this song, I don't like the recording. Not a fan of the Burn Burn version, but this song is such a powerhouse live.

  • Best Our Lady Peace albums.....

    1. Naveed

    2. Happiness.

    3. Clumsy

    4. Spiritual Machines

    5. Burn Burn

    6. Gravity

    7. Healthy In Paranoid

  • pf...alot of people wouldn't agree with that.....but people won't agree with my list either....but then again, I ACTUALLY APPRECIATE ALL THEIR SONGS FOR WHAT THEY ARE. NOT cuz I think that OLP sucks because they're the opposite of AC/DC and that they should make the same-sounding shit over and over. btw Mazur > Turner today

Clumsy > Burn Burn = Spiritual Machines > HIPT = Happiness > Naveed > Gravity

  • @lohello567

    pff..

Clumsy > Burn Burn = Spiritual Machines > Happiness = HIPT > Naveed > Gravity

  • @kennygmang Actually... Naveed, Happiness > Clumsy = Spiritual Machines > all the other stuff.

  • Their next album will be better, I think playing Spiritual in it's entirety opened their eyes to how great that album really was, and it will influence the next one

  • @jbsouthpaw2009

    shut up...

SM was good, but at the same time so fucking mainstream it wasn't funny...it's like you could see "Gravity" coming a mile away

  • @kennygmang Sorry but I have to disagree with this wholeheartedly... the only mainstream songs on SM are arguably Life and Right Behind You

  • @Slacktoo

Life..is not so much as right There Behind You

    and you forgot easily:

    Made To Heal

    and

    Everyone's A Junkie

    All My Friends

    If You Believe

(keep in mind, I like MTH, and absolutely love E'sAJ, and IYB...AMF? it's an ok song)

  • @Slacktoo

nevertheless...Life is one of my top 5 :D

    1. Where Are You

    2. Superman's Dead

    3. In Repair

    4. Monkey Brains

    5. Life*

  • @Slacktoo

I know this was a long time ago, but really?

Made To Heal is pretty much, oh idk, EXACTLY LIKE RTBH.

Everyone's A Junkie is sooo simple, as good as it is

    same with If You Believe

In Repair is too epic to be mainstream :P

the only one's that aren't are the one's neither of us mentioned.

  • idk about that...

    i think:

    Clumsy is Alternative

    Gravity is Post-Grunge/Pop-Rock?

    HIPT is Alternative/Pop-Rock

BB is Indie :P but really, if you were Canadian, you'd know this album sounds like real Canadian Rock

    Naveed? maybe Grunge/Post-Grunge...more Grunge imo

  • If my theory's right, they'll go down in history as the first band to make a political statement on a world stage.

They make you proud to be Canadian!!

  • Wanna bet this' the song they close the Olympics with?

  • Wrong, starseed was the closing song in Whistler.

  • Dude how can you say was when it hasn't happened yet?

    WRONG

  • @13SMY13

    it's one of their best...bt they didn't...

idk if they opened with it or not...i only looked at a few in youtube so i didn't know the order

  • great song that does harken back to the old 90's days that i missed from them...but also feels more modern and mature to the olp im used to!

  • when i missed...i mean "that i never got to experience"....bt tbh...i like the new olp as much, if not more

though, some songs pre-S.M. (cuz i heard of "life" and "in repair" when i was little) really stick with me, like superman's dead or thief...saw thief on tv :P

  • Did anyone else think that this album was good, but, as an OLP album, sucked like mad?

Monkey Brains and Papermoon are the only ones I can listen to as our lady peace songs. I have to pretend the other ones are a different band lmfao.

  • I think it's fair to say that they ARE a different band now. They lost me with Gravity and Bob Rock. Their new sound just sounds like... nothing. Everything that made them unique is gone. They lost their sound and, as a result, sound like no one. It's really too bad. Their albums before Gravity were all INCREDIBLE.

  • @CageThatElephant I thought the same thing myself... same two songs.

  • The part at 2.11 is so beautiful

  • So Stever mentioned in an interview that the band is currently tossing around ideas for a new cd and is set to go in the studio in january to record and write and are planning to have a new cd released sometime in 2010! Fu*ken eh. also OLP will be preforming at the 2010 winter games

  • At the Olympics? Awesome!

  • im not really sure, dont get me wrong, i love OLP and have for many years, its just this seems a little too different for me. H is not a F you can catch was still my favorite album.

  • This song ever so slightly reminds me of Stealing Babies [ from Happiness...] I don't know maybe it's just the fast to the slow to the fast that sticks out to me. This is so the best on Burn, Burn !~

  • agreed...

all songs are good though imo..no weak song

  • @xArtandMusic Yeah! I like both those songs, and I never even thought of them being similar. Now that you say it, though, I totally see it :)

  • I know i already posted saying that the song manages to satisfy but i love the song then i did then. Especially the transition from the wicked guitar riff to the slow part. Even though I dont enjoy the rest of the album as much, this song has grown on me in such a short time. Its as good as there old stuff.

  • if i got to pick the single for this album it would be monkey brains dreamland and papermoon

  • Don't like the new stuff? see them live, youll become an instant fan

  • best band ever

    ever

    period

  • Good to see Our Lady Peace back to its old famous roots making unique bad ass songs like they have many times before in the last decade!

  • agreed

  • I actually like this song. I hate the new our lady peace stuff but this song managed to satisfy.

  • Love this song soo much its good on audiosurf too =P

  • freggin best song of the year right here!

its crazy! from an amazing beginning, to a great slow section, and then it ends in overdrive!

    :) love it!

  • Best track they've written for years

  • wholeheartedly agree....this and escape artists are the 2 best songs in the album...imo

  • this song is about butterflies that take 4 generations to find a home

  • this is by far my favorite new song, raine did such a good job

  • the album cover, they the band HIDDEN IN PLAIN VIEW on their 2005 album LIFE IN DREAMING

because the man there has also holding a balloon. Anyway i also love our lady peace

  • MMmmmmm monkey brains jkjkjkjk

  • You can't even tell what the hell he's saying.

  • why keep posting the same thing, we all get it.... get a life? +seems to me like a few hundred views of this song belong to you. stop listening to this rubbish, they have let YOU down, you long time fan you. sigh.

    i like this song:).

  • o so you're saying Gravity or HIPT is better? ok.... whatever you say loser

  • Comment removed

  • raine's voice is amazing in this song... i don't get why people think his voice is bad on this album. he has more of an edge to his voice on this album than gravity or hipt, and this song really reminds me of their earlier stuff

  • bourina or watever.wats ur problem?you say uv been a life long fan.and yet you cant accpet the change that olp has made over the last several years?how come?just cu its not as raw sounding as it use to.get over youself.bands change, but apperently you dont

  • 2.11 - 3.36 best part.

  • But the whole thing ROCKS live! It wasn't my fav album the first time I listened...then I gave it a second chance and I am addicted to it! Monkey Brains is one of my favs...it really reminds me of the Naveed era. I can hear everyone of their albums in different songs - they really did pull together some of their most amazing qualities into one album.

  • What copy of Naveed did you buy? This sounds NOTHING like that album.

  • I guess it reminds me of what OLP used to be...this is not a mainstream song at all. I went against my better judgement (after hearing AYDWSML)and it turns out that I like this album ALOT! Can't pin point it, but to me it could fit on that album.

  • *shrug* I find it to be a very predictable, very much mainstream song. Reminds me of several other bands. The only thing that isn't is Raine's lyrics, and even then. It doesn't really compare to songs like Julia or Neon Crossing, IMO.

  • Well, at least you express it as your opinion and not a God given truth. High five for opinions expressed as such

  • YES! People can have differences of opinion without all the fighting. I agree with Songofwyrd that Julia and Neon Crossing are pretty epic songs and hard to compare to though, but the first time I heard Naveed I didn't think it was as great as it is...same with Burn Burn, IMO (lol).

  • Oh come on ... You can say you don't like their new songs but you can't say it's trash. OLP members are unbelievable artists, with more talent than pretty much all the new bands you can hear out there. You're allowed not to like this,it's your opinion, but you can't say OLP's music is garbage ...

  • i SAID this album is garbage, dont mis-understand my english

  • @bourani12

    ur garbage...plain and simple...

    this isn't fucking 1997...

i've collected all their singles and this album too...i love songs like superman's dead, in repair, birman and thief etc.....BUT I'LL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW...their old songs wouldn't hold shit today...if they kept making the same-sounding music...

    so fucking learn to appreciate

  • @kennygmang Their old music would actually hold shit today. It just wouldn't "sell" as much. The question is - Do they wan't to make music to make music.. or to make money? Don't get me wrong I don't think they've sold out with the past couple albums(they did with gravity though). It would just be nice to see them make a more rock album, similar to their first 2. This song is a perfect example of that. It's very rock, but it's still very different.Where as the rest of this album is very Coldplay

  • @ECoates

i guess i can agree in some level about their music *ahem* HIPT *ahem*

but, they actually still make music TO make music

funny thing is, i might like HIPT as much as Burn Burn for some reason

  • o and OLP said themselves this was their first proper rock album in forever so...actually, this is the closest sounding to Rock out of all their albums...and the only ones i haven't listened to yet are Happiness & SM...

  • Coldplay has nothing on these guys dude. They've evolved through the times and helped a lot of people along the way. They really do make one PROUD to be CANADIAN!!!

  • @kennygmang --good music died post the 90's.... im guessing your 18 or younger considering you dont know whats good. Burn Burn is fantastic...but so is starseed, and clumsy and happiness...they still get radio play on canadian rock station....10 years later...that says something about the quality.

  • @toothpastechica

yeah I'm 16, but I know good music.

My dad listens to 60s-80-s stuff all the time, and thinks it's superior, while not saying today's music is neccesarily bad.

But for you saying good music died 10-20 years is really stupid.

I'm sorry, but you must be listening to shit bands like Nickelback and generalize it, cuz in fact some music today EASILY trumps most of the 90's and older music.

Ex.OLP, Cage The Elephant, Them Crooked Vultures, Kings Of Leon, tell me then

  • @kennygmang Hello again, could'nt help but notice another post of yours. Now look here Kings of Leon are so horrible I don't know where to begin.

They started of as a decent garage band and then turned into something godawful.

Once again, as for Our Lady Peace, I have no problem with their music, Our Lady Peace will always sound like Our Lady Peace as far as I'm concerned , but some things about them these days are a little troubling in this climate.

  • @pleaseopenyourshop

Don't tell me Radioactive is garbage or else I'll condemn your taste in music.

Oh, and Mike Turner is sooo good...and he's still good *sarcasm*

  • @toothpastechica Kennymang is a typical 16 year old kid that thinks he is cool and important cause he hurls southpark style insults at people who dont like OLP's new stuff. Truth is the album sales tell the whole story. There is a good reason why this album and this "current version" of OLP has not gotten the attention of MAJOR record labels. CONSISTENT SONG QUALITY. OPL has talent to spare but they dont seem to care about putting out what will get them HUGE again. One of the best live tho.

  • @jbsouthpaw2009 Just to clarify earlier comment. OPL currently has a LACK OF CONSISTENT SONG QUALITY problem. This new stuff has a creative sound & is kinda interesting but lacking the discipline & memorable hooks that got them signed & touring in America. Raine & the guys just seem to like it the way things are now. Good bands write songs a whole lot differently when they are not hungry or struggling to make it big amymore. Just that simple. I met OLP members on Naveed tour. Raine was a jerk!!

  • i'm not even gonna say how wrong you are...

    olp fan my fucking ass

  • I agree with kennygmang.

  • i agree with you too

  • There have been comparisons to the earlier, more rock-driven albums, but that's not what this is all about, Maida said. While he admits the attitude has changed, it's not about trying to recapture a sound, rather an emotion.there not trying to please is.they make music.if you like it u like it.if u dont. then olp is not for you

  • I agree 100% ! I'm tired of everyone comparing this to their old style and saying how much they've changed . If you like it then good for you ! If you don't, go watch other videos !

  • Definitely brings back the OLP... love it.

  • Ok hated this song the first time i heard it...now loving it

  • Do you know what? I don't give a fuck if people thinks its poprock or rock or whatever! I like them anyway and that is what matters..

  • I loved it from the very beginning. I just seem to want to complain about it. It's a Freudian thing....

  • umm who gives a shit just listen to the song?

  • good point

  • I have an opinion that I want everyone to consider.. I have seen MANY times a band put out albums just like their previous albums.. and they get severely ciritcised about how it sounds allllll the same.. now OLP does something different every album.. I would prefer having a WIDE VARIETY of STYLE.. rather then the sammmmeee old stuff thrown at me.. you wanna hear something like clumsy? THEN LISTEN TO CLUMSY.. they already made it.. =P stop waiting.. its right there.. lol

  • Agreed, I have said it before, the same people bitching about this not being the "old" OLP are the same people that would bitch if they put out 7 albums identical to Naveed or Clumsy (or insert fav OLP album here).

  • @Leeman17

    fuck yeah! wholeheartedly agree

  • burn burn is right in there with naveed and happiness.ppl who hate need to listen closely to this album.of course ur going to be turned off by it at first.you have to listen very closely to appreciate this album.if you hate the new stuff fine.you have 4 albums prior to gravity.a true fan adapts to change in a bands style.they accept it and learn to live with it.this is olp matured.and its just as good as the stuff they recorded when they were younger

  • amazing song...amazing album....fricking amazing show. tired of haters

  • This is pretty punk for OLP but it's still a better song than most.

  • Comment removed

  • They all had 3.

  • If you talk about the composition of music, I don't think you can really say it's a bad album. It's different, but it's not inherently worse than their first four because of that.

You can hardly say they went commercial either. The professional reviews are all over the place... some say too hard, some say too soft, some say too much like their old, some say too new.

OLP fans seems to love the new stuff live, and I think that counts more than anything

  • Yes, this album is way better live! There just seems to be more energy and passion in the live show than on the album. Its pretty solid as a whole.

  • Our Lady Peace is awsome the album i damn great like all the other and anyone whos sticks with the old album naveed, clumsy, happiness,Spirtual machines ur pathetic and should really just apreciate the music cuz u dont got many band today that are as good as these guys u got alot of winey bands out there today

  • true that....sure, this album may not be as good as the older albums that u pathetic old-OLP-listeners say, but THIS IS A SOLID ALBUM....THE BEST NEW OLP album by "kilometers" lol

if some of you people aren't ignorant shits, then maybe you could find some good songs of Burn Burn

  • I would be able to listen to it, if they didn't become some shitty generic pop rock band. It's like Bob Rock came in and bullied Raine around until he became a pussy.

  • um...this album is produced by them for them....bob rock got kicked out of the studio. its a fab album

  • and bob rock sucks.....for the most part.....no raine wasn't bullied....plus he had to save his voice anyways...and raine isn't a pussy....

once again, pathetic...go listen to clumsy for 10000th fucing time or something

  • Alriight, First of all. THEY ARE NOT POP ROCK. They have their own sound, and seriously if you have nothing nice to say, dont say shit. They are more of a Jazz Alternative Rock Genre. BRITNEY SPEARS IS POP. & METRO Station is pop. Nothing that has to do with a guitar, a bass, and a set of drums is pop, unless some friggen synthesizer shit & Some stupid Jonas Brother fags are thrown in. Get your music straight, because you sound like a fucking tool on here. =)

  • well its not unquestionable if everyone is questioning it...you have 4 thumbs down

  • i really like every song, except for White Flags, not a fan of that one so much, but i haven't listened to it a lot, have to wait for it to grow on me.

i bought the Bonus Track version of iTunes, so i have a few other songs aswell

  • I'm the opposite. This doesn't seem much like our lady peace's style...kinda like their song "whatever" its harder rock.

I'd have to say i like this one the least on the album, but i still don't mind this song.

  • for my 1st OLP album ever?

4/5....short but all songs are at least decent

my favs are this, all you did, paper moon, and the end is where we begin...but all songs are in some way good

as to the fans who still live behind old olp music: give them a fucking break u ignorant shit....sure i havent heard their older stufff....but this album is a good enough reason to get into them again

  • Quit living in the past, jesus christ stgm. Some of you people can't even afford to appreciate something new from OLP. this is actually a good album....for their 7th? yeah

  • im really digging escape artist too

  • i got this album the day it came out and so far this is my favourite song off the record. awsome tune

  • YES!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! The intro and the guitar going, love it!!!

  • well, so i am sorta addicted to this song.

i first saw them in concert back in june, but i had been a huge fan before.

when i heard them play this song, it was epic :)

  • Too "heavy"? Have you ever heard of a little cd called "Naveed"?

  • monkey brains?.. mainstream?.. i respect all opinions.. but ?!?!?! :/

  • i dont care if this album is mainstream....cuz most of the songs are worthy of getting put out there...it's still unique

  • This is the most unique song on the album by miles.

  • who says that? you? lots of people?

well i dont, its your OPINION . you think its the most unique , and my opinion is, i dont think its unique.

    whats wrong with that?

  • um....olp frigging rocks and if you think its too heavy..then go listen to your stupid radio pop rock sellouts

  • are you fucking kidding me?!

i mean im sorry, maybe you didnt understand, i said

    "THIS SONG IS TO HEAVY"

which for people like you means THIS SONG.

i dont EVER remeber saying, " this band is to heavy i hate them and love studio radio pop rock sellouts way more "

no i didnt, cause im actually a big fan of this band, THIS ONE GOD DAM SONG. wow people on youtube are fucking jackasses

  • i guess youve never listened to the naveed album eh....and i like how the guy swearing and saying a song sucks calls people jackasses. look in the mirror.

  • wow. do you have a brain?!

    im sure its in there.....

for the last god damn time, I LIKE THIS SONG! i just said its too heavy for my taste, dose that mean i cant like the song? NO. god your a fucking dumb ass

not only that, if you go to page 3 i think i made a comment saying its too heavy and someone asked me if i listened to naveed and i said YES! fuck

do your own god damn research before acting like an idiot.

  • i repeat...look in the mirror.

  • nice comeback, wait what are you comming back to.

oh wait, NOTHING, cause you know i have a good point, and you cant pull and more bullshit out your ass, so you say something as gay as that? what are you 5?!?!

  • what was your point? that you dont like good music?

  • Best album since Happiness, Spiritual Machines was good but it was a concept album remember, which meant the sound was a bit secluded, although I hope Mike Turner would rejoin one day, or even play with them on stage again!!

  • Steve's much better than Mike, it's not his fault that he wasn't a part of Naveed, Clumsy, etc...

But as a guitar player he kicks Mike's ass, though i'd like to see Mike back aswell someday but NOT to replace Steve

  • Comment removed

  • already heard it lol

dude everyone has his opinion, period

  • Yeah! It was about time! Real rock is back!

    No emo crap here!

Makes me proud of being Canadian!!!

    Can't wait to see them!

  • Just imagine if all of the songs on the album were as heavy and awesome as this? THAT would truly be a comeback for Our Lady Peace.

  • bro why did you remove the other songs?

:( white flags and signs of life were the best ones, well and monkey brains too

  • why did you delete the other songs!?

  • I hope this isnt the final mixdown...the vocals sound so low

  • sorry man.... it is

  • Ya, I am about half way through, amazing cd. It`s like they let Steve off his leash. These solos are fucking insane. Monkey Brains and Escape Artist are incredible.

This cd will hopefully make OLP massive again, and return many of the fans that wrongly gave up on them to come back. I`ve loved every cd so far, but this one does feel oldschool

  • I'd be shocked if this wasn't OLP's worst selling album, sadly. Hard to sell a lot o copies when there's no airplay or advertising from a major label.

  • that just means the people listening to it are people who actually have good taste in music...rnt just bandwagon jumpers....olp freaking rocks and this is an amazing album and im glad they are confident enough to stay true to the music and not care about what the industry wants

  • I haven't listened to the whole album yet as I wanna leave some surprises for when the CD comes out, but from what I've heard it's definitely their best album since Spiritual Machines.

  • Yeah... you have courage lol... for me just Time Bomb and TRS will be new to me when I get the deluxe CD
