As lithuanian i regret that lithuanians participated in executions of jews in lithuania during nazi occupation. As lithuanian i regret that lithuanians participated in executions of jews in lithuania during nazi occupation. Howewer there was never polish apology for killing of lithuanians by army krajova in Vilnius (Wilno in polish) by poles. One has to admit Russians didn't make the Yeltsin's admission about Katyn being a Russian (or should I say Soviet? But then again Russian Fed. didn't really separate itself from the matter, did it?) job too medial. Many people here in Poland actually learned about this only like a couple of months ago. Interestingly enough this report is pretty accurate (although it uses shots from early 1990s:). This resolution passed by the Polish parliament is a bullshit play by far right wing politicians hoping to earn votes by antagonising Russia and playing history as a card. The fact is Katyn was a mass-murder. To have genocide (by definition) you have to have civilians slaughtered. Katyn was an act of murder performed by NKVD on Polish officer POWs.

In 1920 Russian Red Army attacked Poland, reaching all the way to Polish capital Warsaw, but Polish forces regrouped and fight of advancing Russians, taking Russian invadors captive, in 1920, Poland existed as independend state only for 2 years, when it was attacked by Soviet Red Army, Poland had to fight a war all spring and summer, there was no food, conditions were poor, so so a lot of Soviet POW in Polish captivity died from viruses and poor condition.

Of course Poland is in the WEST (culture, economy, mentality) and this is what Russia can not understand. This was the choice of Poland. For Russia it is problematic because its all ideology towards Slavs is based on the motto" nowhere is better than with russia" and then surprisingly there is a successful Poland and the motto doeas not work anymore. Ask Ukrainians if they want to follow Russian or Polish way of development?

Read international media, you will know that majority of public opinion around the world realises that Poland and Eastern Europan countries have been brutally occupied and still are being threatened by Russia.
Once you accept the fact that Poland decides about Poland. Estonians, decide about Estonia and Ukrainans make decisions for Ukrainians, you will have more respect in those countries.
By manipulating, ingriguing and mendling in other nations internal affairs Russia is making enemies.

Oh, I've read a lot of international media. From what I can see the majority is really positive about Obama's decision to scrap the installations in Poland and Cz. That is, apart from few Republican war mongers. Czecks are mostly happy about it as well. As for Poland - oh well, they are known for their immaturity and recklessness.

Poland is doing exactly the same thing, as Japan, South Korea and Israel.
Japan and S.Korea is being traditionaly threatened by China and Russia. So it needs American military allince and instalations to keep Ruskies and Chinese out.
Israel needs US funds for its military to survive and keep Arabs out. Poland needs missle difence to keep imperialisic Russia out.
Remember you Russians have been invaded by Mongols and Tatars, you did not like it. You invaded Poland, so we do no like you.

Nonsense. Japan and S.Korea are not "crying wolf" at every corner, like Poland does. In fact, they have a good relationship with Russia and no problem at all with China either. BTW, Russians have had a history of both fighting with Mongols and Tatars and living peacefully side by side. And they are certainly at best terms now.

There's a border dispute between Romania and Hungary, India and Pakistan, but no third party send its troops there.
Conflict between Osetians and Georgians (if there is one at all) is between Osetians and Georgians. Live them alone, would you!
If not Russia mendling into internal affairs of Georgia, Osetians would be happy to be part of Georgia.

What Russian troops are doing in S. Ossetia? They are preventing Georgian administration from "insuring a bright futere for everybody", the way people like you understand it. That is by bombing the civilians and killing Russian peace keepers. And look what the result is ! Don't make the same mistake, don't if you don't want the same consequences. Poland, Estonia, Georgia and Ukraine know what is good for Poland, Georgia and Ukraine.
Leave those countries affairs to themselves. Japan and South Korea is also Russian neigbours, they have a military alliance and are western oriented and you Russians have accepted it.
You have to now accept that your Russian influence and interest end on your Russian border, maybe Belorusian if belorissuan allow you...
