People dont tank because its a job of sheer criticism and scrutiny and it ain't worth it. Its like musicians watching other musicians. No matter how good they are, you could have done better but won't because you actually can't. If tanks weren't criticized so much (while most of the time the problem isn't them) there would be many more. I am a tank and can hold aggro all day with no praise but the minute I let an enemy through my threat I suck and that makes it not worth tanking in itself.

High Warlord (and the other Vanilla PvP titles) are coming back very soon for the arena system, don't know if that's a good thing, I quite enjoyed being one of the few Blood Guards around (not saying it's an amazing rank, I was quite a casual PvPer :D)

actually, respecing isnt THAT easy as a druid. you cant just go from balance gear (int) or resto (int and spir) and go into tank (stam strength). if you dont have the gear, your basiclly useless in that spec, or rather close to.

With that said I wish you could buy heirlooms with gold. Gold isn't a problem for me. The problem is that I'm changing servers but refuse to pay the $15 fee. I wish blizzard would just keep a record of your progress with each class and permit you to roll an alt of the same class of any lvl up to and including the "main" of that class.

DPS whines because of long queue times, then they whine because of some vanity items that tanks and healers can get to reduce the DPS queue times. Why don't people tank/heal? because the DPS first reaction is to blame it all on tank/heal when a wipe occurs, completely ignoring the fact they stood in the fire or couldn't click the lightwell.

DPS put on your big boy/girl pants and man-up. Tank, Heal, or shut-up.

I've done it myself, however the vast majority of my experience is that most wipes are caused by DPS doing a few things...1) Standing in Fire(smutz on the ground) 2) Aggroing additional mobs n3) Breaking CC 4) not focusing the tanks target in AOE pulls. Nothing is wrong with the rest of my post. No matter what incentive was given to Tanks/Healers to queue more often - DPS will/would whine because they didn't get the benefit.

I have to disagree on sharing titles between toons. Even though you can check if the avatar in question got it by achivements, it is still something that belonged to that avatar. Take "Battlemaster" for instance... grabbing the flag in warsong gulch in under 75 seconds is way much harder for a warrior (solo that is) than for a rogue/druid/hunter etc. Some achivements will always be harder to complete for some certain classes than others. Thereby "claiming" it on another class is wrong.

you can also get the JP's by just doing pvp and trading in 375 honor points for 250 JP's, Ive just started that a bit to get heirlooms and in my opinion I find it faster than running dungeons

You can get High Warlord and Grand Marshal from rated bgs. Rated BGs = easy mode gaming. You basically just farm to 2.4k and BOOM you are now a High Warlord. BLizzard just loves the scrubnubs. Arena is the only part of this game that requires skill these days.

Because people treat us tanks like utter shit, blame everything on the tank and when a tank is learning new encounters like the new Zul ones, they are pissed because the tank isn't 100% experienced with said new encounters.

The day Zul was released, I got kicked out of 4 dungeons, on the first boss!

And because they made the Zul's easyer to do as random then with guild, its not to great to push guildies to join you anyway to learn the encounters.

I don't see why people have a problem with tanking? I love tanking since I never got to do it back in vanilla... I had a paladin(healer only.. thnx blizz) I had a mage(dps derp) and I had a rogue which I pvped with... Never rolled a warrior because I didn't like them much, druids were rubbish and if I wanted to roll a tank it would have taken me aaaaaggeeess to gear up to actually be able to tank anything. Now you have DKs, palas, druids and warriors.. a lot more tanking potential and it's fun..

@Darko1003 I think a lot of it people find it just an exercise in frustration. They don't want to be considered the automatic leader, they don't want to put themselves out there because they don't know their ways around the dungeons, they are tired of stupid DPS making their jobs harder and blaming them, and god FORBID they make one mistake because they will never hear the end of it. I tried to learn tanking at one point with my druid and my pally, and it was just not worth it.

I tank because it's the most important role, but also the role with the least responsibility =) Instant Queue times help too.

Facts are though that the sheer numbers play into it. In a guild raid environment you have 2-3 tanks, 5-7 healers, and 13-15 dps. As such, most tanks have guilds because they're practically promised a spot.

And because those tanks are in guilds, they frequently are asked to tank any god damn way, so there's the choice of 'help a friend' vs 'help a stranger'

@mrkanepker as far as i know they will open up a special arena realm, there you can create free lvl 85's for as long as the arena realm is open. after that, everything you have achieved on that realm will be deleted.

the arena realm is something totally separate from the normal Wow realms.

and ofcourse they don't do anything to your characters if you don't do the arena's. they can't force you to do that. hell, you even need to pay for an arena pass in the first place :P

but if you want to play that much, i suggest you try a 'private server'.

it's a bit of work to get it all started but once you have found a good server on the internet you can read what to do and play for free. search google for a server that's Blizzlike if you want a server that plays like normal wow. *WARNING: PRIVATE SERVERS ARE ILLIGAL* (the chances of getting caught are 00.1% but still.)
