There are still significant differences between the Ralliart and the Evolution. The Evolution has much higher quality/lighter suspension components and has a completely different suspension layout (also wider track). The Evolution would also have higher chassis stiffness. However, these differences shouldn't affect the car too much on the drag strip.

the whole point of a lancer(or any car with AWD for that matter) is to red line drop it. the AWD gets traction at high rpms and lancer evos and ralliarts make max power at 5-6k rpms.man that guy sucks.

dude the elevation is probably really high. thats why it ran a 15.2. on the coast a new ralliart can run 14.2 no problem stock. a whole second just because of geography
SST is not a traditional automatic first off so that doesnt effect the launch as much as a slush box....it takes more skill to launch the SST(need to find the cars sweet spot) than a real manual transmission

At the end of the day the Skittle barely won because the RA didnt launch. And by the way you CAN launch an RA, just because there is no hidden "launch mode" like in the MR, u can launch the Ralliart, it is a bit trickier though to finding the right sweet spot. Anyone who has or has driven an RA would know what Im talking about, so all the old fashion manual transmission people can keep shifting because ya thats fun too.....
Ralliart driver sucks. 15.2? My friend has a 2002 Eclispe RS that ran a 15.2. And a stock RSX typeS can run a 14.9 or a 14.8 depending on driver. come on man you can do better than that.
No launch mode on the Ralliart (as opposed to the Evo MR), so there really is no gain at all in having the AWD here. If/when they give the option for a manual, it will be a little more fun.
the stock RA does 14.2 not 15.2 .... a real driver who knew how to launch the RA (brake- then rev close to 3k rpms and punch it) would've done that time... heck there's one person i know doing 13.9 in a stock RA.... while a simple intake, ic piping, front mount and a reflash puts it in the 12.8 1/4mile times... call that slow

There is just about the same amount of potential in an RA as an Evo, hell just swap to an Evo X turbo and u basically have an Evo X minus the bit better AWD system(RA has the IX AWD) All the internals of engine the exact same as the X. actually you should research a tad bit more, the SST is not detuned its 98% the SAME as the MR...minus a s-sport mode, which why on earth would they put s-sport mode on a $24k when it will compete with the MR? And the 5th and 6th gear are different ratios for improved gas mileage. And reseach even further AMS has already ran the Evo X turbo swapped in a RA and are currently running an FPred turbo MADE FOR A X with no problems at all....so u do your research.
And even more reasearch will show they are running 25-26 psi on the FP red thats again made for the Evo X which makes the SAME torque(the supposed enemy of the SST) as the 5 speed cars do on that amount of boost....more torque actually comes from the stock X turbo....so please do research before talking out of your ass.
By Detuned i meant the engine, that came with a SST that doesn't have the same quality as the evo X. Otherwise every wanker out their would be able to achieve over 300HP easily with their ralliarts. I do my research unfortunately if the boost gets raised to give more than 300hp the ecu kicks in and starts to take power from your control of the throttle.
Wrong again, even AMS has stated time and time again they have seen NO PROOF of the TCU(transmissions ECU) lowering the power it makes, they are making over 300 hp with both the EVO X turbo swapped AND an FP RED so research some more buddy.
Its the same engine, with a cheaper turbo. And the ECU can be reflashed.
The reason it would be dumb to tune the thing is simply money. You would end up with a pricier car with a cheaper AWD system (evo IX), cheaper suspension (Lancer GTS) and cheaper brakes and wheels.
You can buy the ralliart for 10k under an evo and buchur racing has an upgrade package for around 8k that brings it within 10hp of the new evo 10 mr so its still cheaper and you can get almost as much for the same cost but id rather have the evo for the simple fact that its better everywhere you look
my friend. if you think investing 8k from buschur racing and making the ralliart only 10hp less than an evo is good. you must be a great person for those companies to love you. but if you did spend that money i would cry once i told you that i could make even more horsepower than an evo for only about less than 500 dollars. whos lying now. granted if both cars are stock. in reality, if i did do 8k worth of upgrades, i would be making 500hp lol. go ahead do your 8k mod
@tommysch Your right about the AWD system but the Suspension is lifted directly off the ix too. With a $400 tune the lighter and qwiker spooling Ralliart beats Evos especially the Gsr. I beat them stock. TC-SST ftw. Check out my vids.

ok, neon's are so different from srt4's its not even funny. The srt4 is so good for its money. I thought for awhile that the mazdaspeed 3 was better but its not true bc those disi engine keep blowing lol. The evo is a better car, but thats not an evo and cost shoudl be taken into account here. The srt4 is way less in cost and a much better bang for the buck. Even if you dislike its looks no one can disagree with that with any reason. I love my car(135i) but if i had less money id get an srt4.

@golfjer i agree. the tc-sst is there for a reason. It out shifts the greatest human. the driver should have just left it in sports mode auto and the car wouldve blown the srt away.

dude the elevation is probably really high. thats why it ran a 15.2. on the coast a new ralliart can run 14.2 no problem stock. a whole second just because of geography

It also depends on the altitude... The higher the altitude, the slower the times will be. here in Colorado, 12 - 13's are actually pretty good.

my brothers de can pull a better time than that. 15.2 for a 2009 turbo car is slow! 18" & a shgitty launch cant help.

Actually there is not much difference if any between normal and sport when the pedal is FLOORED. I personally drive in manual mode all the time.

Actually, there is a difference, the shifting is faster in Sport mode. Its a bigger difference without WOT, but a difference none the less.

SST is not a traditional automatic first off so that doesnt effect the launch as much as a slush box....it takes more skill to launch the SST(need to find the cars sweet spot) than a real manual transmission

try again...i drive a ralliart and mine is stock i ran 14.3's figured out a way to get it to 14.1 or faster and i beat my buddys srt-4 the guy driving the ralliart here didnt do something right i never came close to the 15's

At the end of the day the Skittle barely won because the RA didnt launch. And by the way you CAN launch an RA, just because there is no hidden "launch mode" like in the MR, u can launch the Ralliart, it is a bit trickier though to finding the right sweet spot. Anyone who has or has driven an RA would know what Im talking about, so all the old fashion manual transmission people can keep shifting because ya thats fun too.....

Ralliart driver sucks. 15.2? My friend has a 2002 Eclispe RS that ran a 15.2. And a stock RSX typeS can run a 14.9 or a 14.8 depending on driver. come on man you can do better than that.

No launch mode on the Ralliart (as opposed to the Evo MR), so there really is no gain at all in having the AWD here. If/when they give the option for a manual, it will be a little more fun.

the stock RA does 14.2 not 15.2 .... a real driver who knew how to launch the RA (brake- then rev close to 3k rpms and punch it) would've done that time... heck there's one person i know doing 13.9 in a stock RA.... while a simple intake, ic piping, front mount and a reflash puts it in the 12.8 1/4mile times... call that slow

Thank you, someone who knows u CAN launch an RA, people who can only think old fashioned manual transmission piss me off sometimes, the transmission is the RA is not an auto. There is just about the same amount of potential in an RA as an Evo, hell just swap to an Evo X turbo and u basically have an Evo X minus the bit better AWD system(RA has the IX AWD) All the internals of engine the exact same as the X. Ignorant people need to actually research cars before become youtube tough guys!!!

actually you should research a tad bit more, the SST is not detuned its 98% the SAME as the MR...minus a s-sport mode, which why on earth would they put s-sport mode on a $24k when it will compete with the MR? And the 5th and 6th gear are different ratios for improved gas mileage. And reseach even further AMS has already ran the Evo X turbo swapped in a RA and are currently running an FPred turbo MADE FOR A X with no problems at all....so u do your research.

And even more reasearch will show they are running 25-26 psi on the FP red thats again made for the Evo X which makes the SAME torque(the supposed enemy of the SST) as the 5 speed cars do on that amount of boost....more torque actually comes from the stock X turbo....so please do research before talking out of your ass.

By Detuned i meant the engine, that came with a SST that doesn't have the same quality as the evo X. Otherwise every wanker out their would be able to achieve over 300HP easily with their ralliarts. I do my research unfortunately if the boost gets raised to give more than 300hp the ecu kicks in and starts to take power from your control of the throttle.

Wrong again, even AMS has stated time and time again they have seen NO PROOF of the TCU(transmissions ECU) lowering the power it makes, they are making over 300 hp with both the EVO X turbo swapped AND an FP RED so research some more buddy.

Its the same engine, with a cheaper turbo. And the ECU can be reflashed.
The reason it would be dumb to tune the thing is simply money. You would end up with a pricier car with a cheaper AWD system (evo IX), cheaper suspension (Lancer GTS) and cheaper brakes and wheels.
Buy the best car you can afford.

You can buy the ralliart for 10k under an evo and buchur racing has an upgrade package for around 8k that brings it within 10hp of the new evo 10 mr so its still cheaper and you can get almost as much for the same cost but id rather have the evo for the simple fact that its better everywhere you look

@tommysch Your right about the AWD system but the Suspension is lifted directly off the ix too. With a $400 tune the lighter and qwiker spooling Ralliart beats Evos especially the Gsr. I beat them stock. TC-SST ftw. Check out my vids.

My brother just dropped an S3K turbo into his '05 SRT and is already destroying anythng on the road and he hasn't dialed in the suspension or tuned the PCM yet. The wheel hp is estimated around 375, but not sure yet.

For the record: Thats a 09 ralliart that was in normal mode. if you know anything about a ralliart u would know the car can run in sport and normal.. sport being much faster. a stock ralliart will run low to mid 14's in sport mode. beating that srt4. now so this post dont sound biased.. a srt4 is NOT JUST a neon just like a ralliart is NOT JUST a lancer. I have a ralliart and two of my friends have an srt4 they are nice cars and very fast. people get educated before u post ridiculous comments

ok, neon's are so different from srt4's its not even funny. The srt4 is so good for its money. I thought for awhile that the mazdaspeed 3 was better but its not true bc those disi engine keep blowing lol. The evo is a better car, but thats not an evo and cost shoudl be taken into account here. The srt4 is way less in cost and a much better bang for the buck. Even if you dislike its looks no one can disagree with that with any reason. I love my car(135i) but if i had less money id get an srt4.
